He'd left behind the Vanillite boy and his sister and father a few days before having learned about the situation that had driven them apart. Learned about the missing two members of their little family, and taken off again. He had no clue if he could find either of them, or even one of them. Still he walked, not stopping till it was very late at night and sometimes starting up again very early in the morning.
Today he had paused by a river to get a drink and maybe some food. Here seemed like a good place to stop for a time.

Draven was exploring his new surroundings. He had always lived in the city, so being near a river was a new experience for him. The dragonite wondered if he'd see Briar again. Jacen had said they had been abandoned, and Draven, who hd never been in such a situation, had believed him. He'd flown this far, before finding his new home with a young man.
That young man was happy to let Draven wander the surrounding area. It wouldn't do anyone good, for a dragonite to be cooped up! The dragonite wandered further up the river, and paused to study Noble. "What are you doing here?" He asked, tilting his head just slightly.

Noble had just stood up from the river, hands and face wet from cleaning it up a little after taking a nice long drink.
How interesting he'd find a dragonite all the way out here.
"I'm traveling. Stopped for a moment to get some water, wash my face a little, maybe try to find some food. I can keep going if my being here is a problem, I'm sorry." he gave a wry smile and bent to pick up his pack from where he'd set it against a log and re-shouldered it.

"No! Its not a problem!" Draven seemed to be concerned over whether he had hurt the teen's feelings. "I was hoping to find someone else. You're welcome to be here. You were just unexpected." He attempted to reassure the teen awkwardly. "You haven't seen a vanilite or a parachisu, have you?"
He paused, thinking over No le's words. "There are plenty of fish in the river," he said. "I can help you catch some, if you're hungry."

"Oh good, I'm glad to hear." he let the pack drop again and shrugged his shoulders a little to loosen them up though he blinked at the dragonite. "A pachirisu? No...a Vanilite...well a little boy who looked like one...are you Draven?"
That would explain why this felt like a good place to stop if it was the right dragonite! "A fish would be nice, but I may wait and just eat some of the rations in my pack. A fire to cook it would take too long." and he was pretty hungry just then!

"Yeah, I'm Draven," the dragonite nodded. "You've seen Jacen? Is he alright? I looked for him, but I couldn't find him. I was hoping we could live together again and maybe we could look for Briar together..." he looked at Noble hopefully. "Where was he? Is he anywhere nearby?" He glanced around, as if he thought Jacen was hiding behind Noble.
"I'll get you a fish," he said. He waded into the river, bending down to get a better view of the river. "There's plenty of fish. Rhiyn goes fihing, but mostly he falls asleep. I think he's hoping to catch dinner and get a nap at the same time."

"Jacen isn't with me. I came across him a few days ago trying to get food from someones garden." he gave a wry chuckle.
"He's with some girl named Molly, and her dad now. They were at a hospital, and we found her while we were walking. Seems there was some sort of a car accident that injured the two of them pretty badly...as well as the pokemon they had with them."
Noble's voice was quiet as he spoke, watching Draven warily. He expected a rather bad reaction, really. "Thank you for the offer on a fish. I'm Noble, by the way."

Draven's eyes widened in disbelief. "Jacen was stealing?" He asked. He couldn't imagine it, really. Jacen had always been such a well behaved boy! "He's with Molly?" He asked. The dragonite's expression brightened. "And Colby? That's great!" The dragonite was so pleased, he nearly missed the keldeo's next words. "At the hospital?" He repeated, frowning.
A car accident? "What?!" He demanded, eyes glinting dangerously. It was the expression he had often worn when he had been about to use hyperbeam on Butch for hurting Briar. He walked out of the river, narrowing his eyes at Noble. "Where is she?" He demanded.

"I paid for the stuff he was taking from the garden so no worries there." he nodded at the question.
"Yes, at the hospital. The two of them are hurt. Colby said that the pachirisu...Briar...was taken to a pokemon hospital, she was hurt too...but she ran away within a few hours of being healed and waking up. No one can find her."
He could see the dangerous look on the dragonite's face, and he braced for whatever would come next. "I'm hoping to find her in my travels. I have a knack for finding and helping people when they need it." it was the best way to describe it.
"At least she's healed up, and can hold her own right?" oh dear...wrong words..if only he knew...

"I'll find her," Draven vowed. "I'll find her. I always find her." He'd always protect her too. He loved that pachirisu, more than he felt he could express to anyone. Especially not someone he'd just met. Healed up, take care of herself? The dragonite pressed the keldeo up against a nearby tree, snarling.
"She doesn't know a single useful move!" He growled. "All of them are useless! Useless! Charm and attract--and she's lost, somewhere out in that crazy world! I've been here, comfortable, and she's out in this cold!" The dragonite was furious, but not at Noble. Not really. Briar had run away, why? Didn't she know he would always protect her?

Noble didn't try to get away from the dragon that had him against the tree. He could feel the worry rolling off him in waves, they were that palpable!
"Charm...attract? Those aren't very good moves at all..." his voice was soft, and he swallowed a moment. Well so much for thinking she was taking care of herself!
"Calm down...being angry doesn't find her...or help her. I don't know where the pokemon center is from here...or from there. I'm not from around here. But she can't have gone far right?" he also didn't know how far Draven himself had flown.

Being angry might not have helped Briar any, but it did make him feel better. "No, they're not," he agreed. "Her useless trainer made sure she couldn't protect herself so I would have to. And I do. But she's lost now! And you haven't found her. And if you don't find her soon, I'll give you the Butch treatment." His eyes glinted dangerously. "I've sent him to the Pokemon center a few times." He let the threat linger in the air for a moment.
He released his hold on the teenager, sighing. "I need to find her. I love her."

"No I haven't found her yet. I found you first. But I'll keep looking for her. But I don't know where to tell her to find you or anything." which was bad.
He listened to the explanation eyes widening. "What an idiotic trainer! I mean it's good you protect her and all, but in moments like this she needs to be able to protect herself too."
His feet touched the ground again and he rested a hand on the dragons shoulder. "I don't know who Butch is, but I'd prefer not having a stop anywhere needing healed up again. Once recently was enough." and he wanted to get back to where his heart was leading him!
"I understand. I'll keep looking for her."

Draven paused. "In the chrono--chrono--" the dragonite struggled, "the forest outside of town we're here beside the river within the forest. There's a cabin there," he pointed in the direction of Rhiyn's cabin. "That's where I live. Tell her that's where I live. She'll find me. We always find each other."
The dragonite nodded in agreement. "They were young trainers. Liked to act like we were a couple." Was that why he had fallen for Briar? Because his trainer had wanted him to? He wasn't sure, but he knew his feelings were true.
"Thank you."

"Okay if I find her I'll let her know. I can't promise I will but I'll look. Hopefully you find her before me." one would hope she'd be found safe and sound before long!
"I hope she's found soon, and safe and sound. I'll keep walking in the hopes of finding her and sending her this way for you, okay?" he gave the other a smile and bent for his bag again, hunger forgotten.
