Lately, Ida had the strangest feeling she was being followed. It was never anything she could put her finger on, of course, and it didn't happen all the time. If anything, it only happened at night, as if the sight of the eclipsed moon wasn't enough to freak her out.

The odd thing, though, was that the feeling was completely one of instinct. She had checked, multiple times, for chaos signatures with that special sense she had as a senshi, but there were never any negaverse officers around that she could tell. This time, at least, that faction was not involved in this... at least not directly.

So where was this feeling coming from?

Wandering the walking path of the park Eternal Sailor Ida noted again how odd the moon looked tonight. The eclipse still had it in its clutches, despite everything they knew about them saying it should have only lasted one night, not several. What if it never cleared? What sort of effect would that have on the world? It seemed that more and more, Ida was finding herself worrying, and it wasn't a pleasant thing to face. She'd never been so much of a worrier before... well, before all of this had happened to her. Now she couldn't help but think about what might happen and what she would have to do to fix it.

Suddenly, a rustling to the side sounded and the senshi froze in her tracks, staring at the spot with a frown on her face. There was someone there... not very tall, rather slender... a girl? Actually, it looked like a senshi... But.... she'd just been searching for signals. How could a senshi have gotten so close to her without her feeling that signature that told her an ally was nearby?

Then the eclipsed moonlight fell across the figure and Ida literally gasped, a hand flying up to cover her mouth. It... it was her. In nearly every aspect, this apparition mimicked her. Their outfits were the same, they had the same hair and face... when she moved, when she stood, Ida recognized her own mannerisms, and when it called her name, it was in her voice...

"Ida... I'm here... Help me..." The figure said as she stretched out her arms imploringly. The only difference between the real Ida and the fake seemed to be color... this new monster, the only way Ida could classify it, was a darker, grayer version of Ida herself.

"W-who are you? What are you?" She finally managed to gasp out, not daring to get any closer to it than she was. In fact, she backed up a step as it approached her, a deep part of her scared of whatever this thing was, because it was nothing she'd ever come across in her rather short time as a senshi. Or... ever, really.

Tantalus was out on his own - perhaps not the smartest thing to do when he knew he had a homicidal clone, but it wasn't as if he could be right next to Damocles all the time. (Even if he'd rather be.)

He was taking the opportunity to find mirrors tucked around the park - he understood there were some, but unless he was familiar with them, they wouldn't be much help. It was remarkable how many he managed to find. The Court was certainly thorough in its peppering of the city with transportation.

He sensed a very powerful White Moon aura, and he let out a soft whine. No, no, no, he did not want to get into a fight tonight, not with someone stronger than him and on his own.

He did move a little closer though, out of curiosity if nothing else. Then, his eyes narrowed, because he was definitely hearing the same voice twice. No one deserved to be subjected to fighting one of those damned doppelgangers, especially not a lady. He stepped onto the path, glancing between the two copies but primarily keeping his eye on the washed-out one.

"Be careful, miss, those things are dangerous."

It was like she was in some kind of nightmare... the worst she had ever faced was negaverse officers and youma, and at least those were things she knew and understood. This was so far out of her range of experience, it frankly left her at a complete loss. At least, until someone called to her, pulling her out of her panic.

Whipping her head around, she took in a tall figure in black and red, her heart sinking when she realized this was not a white moon senshi. Ida's senses stretched and she frown. He felt like Remarque did... was this a Dark Mirror senshi? He must be low level with how much weaker his signature was. That was good... at least normally she could take him on her own if she had to. Which... sort of brought her back to her situation and she jumped backwards, soaring through the air to land a safe distance from the dmc and the... shade, or whatever it was.

"I kind of guessed that." She said as she eyed him, trying to keep one on the figure of herself. "I don't suppose you know what it is?" Her distraction, though, gave it an opening and grey Ida raced at her, her form a blurr of speed. A yelp broke from true Ida as she dodged a hit, only to feel an elbow smash into her side and send her sprawling.

It... it knew her fighting style? She rolled desperately as grey Ida kicked at her, struggling to get enough time to get onto her feet again.

"Die." The shade said in her voice, her sweet smile spreading over its face.

"Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure what they are - but I do know they can be killed," Tantalus said, and then his expression became much more serious. He had never seen an Eternal Senshi in battle, and the speed at which the thing moved - borrowed from its original, he wa sure, surprised him.

This was going to be quite a bit more difficult than smacking Damocles's into the ground, because this thing would have access to every aspect of an Eternal's power. Her strength, her speed...her resistance to his attack. He frowned and rather than worrying about magic, he instead ran at the thing, intending to shoulder-check it. He was bigger than her, if only by a little, and that would be an advantage he didn't normally have.

"It has all your skills," he warned. "My partner's used his attack on me." That had been an absolute nightmare. Damocles's attack was terrifying, in a way.

Shoulder-checking the shade, for all her small size, was like running into a much larger person.... hard. She might look soft and plush, but she took his tackle with only a little effort, throwing her arms around him to pull him to a halt and keep him from escaping. Releasing one arm Grey Ida pulled back and sent a fist flying towards his face. It wasn't a boxer's punch, but anyone could throw one if they tried and she had had some practice at it by now.

While the shade was distracted, the real girl jumped to her feet, shaking off the ache in her side. It had her skills? And it could use her attacks? That was kind of scary actually. And that Dark Mirror Senshi... he had attacked it, had helped her... it made her wonder. She didn't exactly have a lot of experience with them, but at least what she did have wasn't bad... it made it easier to accept his help.

"Get down!" She shouted, sweeping her hand up in front of her. A trail of glowing petals followed, merging together to form the shape of a bow that she grabbed up. Pulling back what might have been a string in a classic archery stance, a glowing arrow appeared in the orchid bow.

"Heavenly Orchid Arrows!" Ida called out, giving the stranger enough time to get out of the way before she released her eternal attack.

Tantalus was surprised at how solid the shade was - but then, perhaps he shouldn't be surprised that delicate build or not, an Eternal Senshi had some strength to her. He had no choice but to take the punch, but at least then it was only holding on with one hand and he could twist his way out. That was going to leave a nasty bruise, s**t.

At her direction, he ducked out of the way, hopefully giving her an open shot on the clone. That was a neat trick, and much better than his apple of distraction - also much more dangerous, because the damned clone could use it too, and he knew himself well enough to know that he would most definitely get in the way of an arrow shot at her even if she was objectively stronger.

Stupid chivalrous instincts.

The shining arrow winged towards its target with a roar and when it impacted, light flashed and there was a percussive boom. The shade cried out as she was flung back, hitting her back on the ground and laying there for a moment, groaning.

Ida gasped as she steadied herself, feeling like a large chunk of her energy had been sucked out of her. "Stay back from her. She's stronger than you are. I'll take care of her." She said as she forced herself back into motion. This was an opening, she needed to take it. Especially if he was right and this copy could use the same attacks she could.

The shade rolled as Ida kicked at her, jumping to her feet before the two girls began to circle each other. Color rushed at grey, releasing a flurry of punches that the other more or less dodged, taking only a few hits. A repeat volley was launched, more successful this time as the real Ida underestimated her double and the power she could bring to bear. One blow in particular caught her in the cheek and snapped her head back, sending the eternal senshi stumbling backwards seeing stars. It took her a moment to clear her head and in that moment, a slender grey leg kicked her hard, sweeping her legs out from under her so she landed on her side, her breath whooshing out of her.

Tantalus shook his head. To stay back and out of the way would be idiotic, when he knew that shade and Senshi were matched equally.

"I can't do that, miss," he said, but he did get out from between the two of them. He was primarily watching, paying attention to the fighting techniques of someone stronger - until the clone took the Senshi off her feet and he slipped in behind the colorless fake, wrapping an arm around her throat and one around her chest, doing his best to hold onto her.

"Run! She's after you, and they don't seem to follow if you're not powered up." If he could keep the shade occupied long enough for the real version to get away, then it would be a simple matter to slip through a mirror and get away himself. He wasn't her target, anyway.

Ida groaned as she rolled and came up onto her feet, shaking her head to clear it. When no attack came, her eyes flew about to find her shade and she sucked in a ragged breath when she saw the other senshi pinning her in his arms. Idiot... she was an eternal level senshi, and from what she could tell, he was only first stage! It was his luck that she seemed uninterested in him, because she could have hurt him badly if she had wanted to. As it was, the shade struggled to shake off her attacker, squirming out of his hold and giving him a rough elbow to the side.

Ida rubbed her jaw with the back of her hand and shook her head.

"I won't run!" She called back as she rushed in, giving her double a hard blow to the stomach, doubling her over. THAT was for the head shot... she would give up her pen before she let an imposter like this run around free. "Either hit her, or get out of here!"

If he was going to help, then he needed to help. Maybe together, their power would be enough.

"Idiot" was probably an accurate description of Tantalus, all things considered, because even when the damned shade elbowed him in the side and struggled out of his grip, he stayed, because leaving Ida alone would be to leave her, potentially, to die at the hands of her murderous clone.

So he just flashed Ida a very reckless grin, slipping back in and taking advantage of the Eternal's attack on her double to move in to sweep the washed-out clone off her feet. Getting her on the ground would take away a lot of her advantages, and put them in a position to do her in - or so he suspected.

The shade Ida felt when her feet were swept out from under her. With all of her attention focused on the colored version of herself, she'd forgotten briefly about the annoying senshi that kept trying to distract her from her target. The clone hissed as she rolled out of the way of Ida's hard kick, her boot glancing off her hip rather than smacking into her stomach the way the eternal had intended.

Moving fast, the clone was up and glaring at the pair with her fists balled up in front of her. She look, frankly, furious... her grey face twisted in a snarl that was almost inhuman. For a bit, she rocked back and forth on her booted feet, seeming to weigh her options, before she suddenly turned and fled, darting out of reach and disappearing before Ida could catch up to her and put an end to her copy-cat existence.

Ida sighed gustily as her shoulders slumped, her hands falling to her sides. It wasn't an ideal end to this conflict, but at least no one had gotten seriously hurt. Brushing down her skirt, the eternal senshi turned to study her odd ally. Now that there wasn't a clone to fight, questions were arising in her mind that she had no answers for... chiefly why someone who was supposed to be from a faction on the other side was working so hard to save her life.

Tantalus exhaled with relief, glad that the clone had successfully been driven off. He turned to the Eternal senshi, giving her a smile. "Are you alright, miss?" He asked politely. Of course he was new to the Senshi thing, so he wasn't entirely integrated with the idea that just because the girl was wearing white, she was automatically his enemy.

Maybe he should be more worried than he was - she was two power levels above him, but until she actually attacked him, he wasn't going to worry. After all, he'd just helped her, turning on him would be rude. Or something. He hoped.

For a while, Ida just gave her savior a long look over, studying him. Dark Mirror Court... like Remarque. She honestly didn't know much about them, but what she did know was that they were not really on the same side. Whatever his faction's end goal was, it was not the same as hers.

Finally, Ida dipped her head. "Thank you, for that. For helping me. I don't, uh... get a lot of help from people of other factions." So, maybe these were extenuating circumstances, but still. It just further confused the issue about where the DMC really stood, and with her in particular. "I think I would have had a hard time dealing with that thing all by myself with how equal we are in power. It seems a lot more effective to take them on in pairs..."

Straightening her hood with her hands, the senshi tentatively introduced herself. "I'm Eternal Senshi Ida. Its, um, nice to meet you. I've only met one of your court in the past... Remarque."

Tantalus gave her his best charming smile, and whether it was wise to flirt with the "enemy" or not, he was well and prepared to. "I couldn't leave you to face that thing alone; different sides or not, it would've been awful to let someone face that enemy unprepared." Even if he hadn't served as much more than a distraction, in the end, it was at least something - and they'd convinced the clone to run off.

"Sailor Tantalus," he bowed, the same smile ever-written on his face. "I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Remarque; I'm a bit new to this whole thing, so I confess I haven't met many in my own Court yet."

Eyebrows lifted over wide, dark eyes, but Ida simply shrugged a little, feeling a little awkward now that there wasn't a direct enemy to face. She knew so little about the dark mirror court.

"I suppose its not surprising you haven't, if you're new. It happens a lot in my faction as well. I've been making an effort to meet all of the new senshi though, give them points of contact." She said lightly, only realizing afterwards that maybe she shouldn't have share that information quite so easily. He didn't need to know about any disorganization they had, or how disconnected each senshi was from their fellows. She was lucky she had her team and they were making an effort to correct the problems they found. Someday, hopefully, they would all be inter connected and supported, properly training those newly awakened, but until then... well, they did their best.

"I suppose its a little troubling to know the shades are attacking more than just my side... it suggests there is something outside of all of us that's doing this. We hardly need yet another group to add to the fight.... especially when we don't know why they're doing this, what their goal is. Why bother making clones of us to attack us with? The negaverse use youma, they don't find a need to disguise them as senshi and knights. I'm starting to think this is all... building up to something. I don't know." She shrugged loosely at the end, biting her lip.

"Look, um... be careful for a while, ok? I really am grateful for your help, and it would bother me if you got hurt fighting these things." Even if they weren't on the same side... she could appreciate someone who preferred to preserve life, rather than destroy it as some did.
