Great. It was time to change them again. The ******** blood soaked through and Melvin already told Al what happened to hunters who let their bandages get gross. Then there were the threats. There was also no admitting to Rep that... yeah, no.
He held the supplies in tow and eyed Noah's door. Deep breaths man.
He knocked.

The door had not actually been locked, nor, in fact, fully closed. At the knock, it swung slowly open. Noah sat at his desk, his chin propped on one hand. He was studying. Yes. Studying. With his eyes closed. It was an advanced technique. Right.

.... was he asleep sitting up? Al crept inside the room. Not like he wasn't used to the same courtesy. (He had to hide things outside his room these days to keep Rep from taking them after all). But he wasn't here to commandeer possessions. Noo. He peeked over Noah's shoulder at whatever it was he was doing. Quiet as a mouse.

Yes. Yes he was. Upon getting closer, Al might hear that Noah was actually emitting tiny awkward snores every few breaths. A cup of something that might have been coffee or tea sat on the desk, stone cold. Apparently Noah had been sitting here for some time. The book was on rune theory, the text of a density and dryness sufficient to make one's eyes cross after only a few lines. The notebook that sat open under Noah's left hand contained several paragraphs of messily scribbled notes and a few sketches; the last line of writing devolved from messy into incoherent wriggles that weren't quite letters, and finally into a line that skidded off the page to where the pencil had fallen out of Noah's hand.

Al's eyebrows shot up with amusement at his comrade's predicament. Yup. Indeed the guy fell asleep doing his thing. Sitting. Al looked away from him at the rest of the room. Might as well snoop while he's distracted.
He drifted towards a nearby set of drawers. Eyes fixed on Noah the entire time he reached over to grab a handle.

Noah didn't have much by way of personal possessions. The top drawer contained socks and underwear, the next one down a pair of jeans and a lone, sad-looking t-shirt. The third drawer was empty. The bottom drawer had two books tucked into the back corner, oddly separated from the ones lined up on the shelf.

Al curiously reached for the books and sliiiid them forward to try and see what their titles were. Rare books? He glanced sideways into the drawer.

Not rare books, but embarrassing ones. When turned over to show their covers, the books turned out to be garish-looking novels of the bodice-ripper genre. No wonder they'd been quietly tucked away in a bottom drawer. This would be excellent teasing material for weeks, maybe months.

Al was not sure what he was even looking at at first but the moment he did... he turned an amusing shade of hot pink and closed the drawer quickly before looking to make sure that didn't wake Noah. He had his sights on your other drawers next.

Noah sighed in his sleep, but didn't wake yet; he started snoring again shortly.
The desk drawers contained a lot of nothing, except for some notebooks, paper, and pencils and pens in the top left drawer. An ipod from a few versions back lay next to those, out of battery power.

Al looked disappointed that it was all boring crap in there. He even paged through a few notebooks in case there was a journal to be found before turning his final attentions on his bed. He checked it over, under the mattress, under the pillows... under the whole thing.

There were a few amateurish doodles here and there in the notebooks, but mostly they were actually full of notes and diagrams of various sorts. There was no journal to be found. The bed yielded a more interesting discovery, perhaps; there was an old, almost flat, and very worn-looking cat plushie tucked under the pillow. Average little secrets.

Al arched a brow at the cat plushie but he was sure he found it all. These trainee rooms were very... stark... to begin with. He hoped to find more awesome s**t first, but apparently that wasn't going to happen. He wandered back to Noah and placed his left hand on a shoulder before giving the trainee a shake to wake up.

Noah jumped awake, flailed in startlement, lost his balance, knocked over his chair, and wound up in an undignified tangle on the floor. "Um," he said weakly, and blinked up at Al. "Did I fall asleep?"

Al backed up as fast as he could just in time to watch the show in stunned surprise. That was certainly something.
"Morning." He stared down at Noah for a long while before finally offering a hand. "Yup."
