First Annual Destiny City Cultural Festival!
All of Destiny City's major schools - from Knightside all the way to DCU - have decided that this is the year to try out a Japanese tradition: The Cultural Festival! Students are invited to host booths at their campus or visit the other ones - and bring your parents, too; it's fun for the whole family!
Each school will be hosting its own Festival, and while unlike at Japanese schools attendance isn't required, everyone is encouraged to come.
What is a Cultural Festival?
Wikipedia The Japanese Cultural Festival (文化祭 bunkasai) is an annual event held by most schools in Japan, from Nursery schools to universities at which their students display their artistic achievements. People who want to enter the school themselves or who are interested in the school may come to see what the schoolwork and atmosphere are like. Parents may also want to see what kind of work their children have been doing. The festivals are usually open to the public, especially at high schools and universities.
So What's Up With This Thread?
This is where you can sign up your student, or a student club (which can totally be made up on the spot) for a booth at their school's Festival!
Signups for booths will be open until October 31, 2013 at midnight EST.
The various ORPs (one thread per school) will open on November 3, 2013 and will be open until November 17, 2013 at which point there will be a closing prompt and the threads will be locked.
This is entirely an ORP for fun! No youma, no powered shenanigans, nothing like that, I promise!

A large booth with two salon style chairs. Several racks of accessories and minor articles of clothing, trays of cosmetics and hair paraphernalia. Carpets laid down, and thick fabric walls of their booth, none of that garish plastic nonsense.
This booth actually has several runners to go pluck festival goers out of the crowd to give them a free makeover.

*NOTE* These girls are insufferable, but they honestly think they are doing something nice and helpful. emotion_awesome

School: DCU Club Name: Baseball Team Involved Students: Chris Gallo. Others welcome! Faculty Advisor: Coach. He obviously has a name, but for the sake of leaving things open for others, he'll just be called Coach. Booth Description: The DCU baseball team is raising money for Destiny City's local Boys & Girls Club by hosting a Kissing Booth. For a donation of just $5 you can smooch one of the participating players, of which Chris is one. While Chris's partner Paris supports this endeavor (enthusiastically, says Sun), Chris would like to remind everyone that kissless donations are also acceptable!

School: Destiny City University Club Name: Dance Department Involved Students: Paris Gallo. Some NPCs. Other PC dancers are definitely welcome! :3 Faculty Advisor: Department Head is a heretofore unnamed NPC. Individual students have their own faculty advisers. Booth Description: While not a club, the DCU Dance Department has decided to use the event as a way to garner interest and support from students, faculty, and local citizens. The department has sometimes been known to struggle in acquiring new talent due to fluctuations in the economy and the highly competitive nature of the art. As they search for ways to showcase the talent they do have in their ranks, the Dance Department puts on a variety of shows and performances over the school year, some of which DCU students can attend for free.
The Dance Department's booth will be nestled near that of DCU's baseball team (at Paris's insistence; she might have had to do a lot of convincing of faculty members and event organizers to make this a reality), in the hopes that the spectacle caused by the baseball team will not only prove amusing, but also bring a bit more notice to the booth right next door than the Dance Department might have received otherwise. The booth itself will be comprised of little more than a standard table covered by a festive Nutcracker themed tablecloth, with an iPad propped up streaming through videos of various performances and variations by the department's dancers. A variety of pamphlets and programs will be available, as well as a list of course descriptions and requirements for those who might be interested in pursuing a major (or minor). There will also be a jar for donations. (Good costumes don't come cheap!)
Students who assist in running the booth are encouraged to bring snacks. Paris will be supplying homemade chocolate chip cookies, individual snack-sized bags of trail mix, and hot apple cider!

School: Destiny City University Club Name: Future Teachers Association Involved Students: Aurora Namid and NPCs (any other characters that are studying to be teachers are free to join!) Faculty Advisor: NPC Teacher, unless someone with a teacher character wants to be the head. :3 Booth Description: Bake sale funding the Future Teachers Association (as if Aurora could ever participate in a charity or event that didn't include one)! There is a large variety of treats (though mostly sweets) and all are decorated with school related themes such as apples, black boards, papers, crayons, buses, etc. Beyond the baked goods there are also flyers talking about the teaching program at DCU, pictures showing the members in action working with students or preparing lesson plans, and other literature in an attempt to draw in more members or donations for the program. Children are our future, support the people who will be teaching and helping guide our future!
((Breaking it down: Apple shaped Cake pops, Sugar cookies shaped like buses, lockers, and books, Brownies that look like blackboards, cupcakes decorated to look like globes and others that are decorated with candy crayons, Rice Krispie Treats shaped like apples, cartons of milk, and regular apples tied with a pretty bow. There are a few more expensive cakes, pies, and fancier desserts set back on display tables that are available for larger donations.
* If others would like to join and offer other products like crafts or whatever I'm totally fine with more stuff at the booth!)) School: Knightside Elementary Club Name: Not a club, just some of the students as part of their class work Involved Students: Evangeline Nene and NPCs (plus any other 3rd graders that would like to join?) Faculty Advisor: NPC 3rd grade teacher Booth Description: An.. interesting and bright colored booth obviously decorated solely by the children running it. The booth itself offers karaoke and excitable children! A large tv and small karaoke machine sit on the table along with an assortment of simple children's instruments (tamborines, drums, maracas, bells, a triangle, etc). There are also some fashion accessories like feather boas, silly hats, tiaras, and coats to make the singers feel even more fabulous and like a star. The excited children attempt to lure people in and assist in helping dress them up and sing back up if the person wants.
Kid friendly songs only!!!
