Ellie couldn't say she was expecting a phone call.

Hell, she couldn't even say she was prepared for what was going on the other end of the phone.

"Ellie? Oh GOD... you gotta f*ckin' help me!!!" There was some strained breathing on the other end of the line.

The blonde adjusted the phone against her ear, as if it would help her hear properly. "....dude... Phil... is that you? You sound like sh*t..."

"I'M NOT F*CKIN' AROUND! It's after me... I... I don't even..."

Well, that isn't normal... The tomboy bit her lip slightly, as her mind drifted to the thoughts of youma. "Where are ya at?"

His breathing grew ragged, as if Phil had been running "...I was by the bowling alley... and... it looks just like me..."

The blonde's eyes widened a bit at that tidbit "...What?! What do you mean?!"

There was a sound as if he ran the phone against the ground, the sound of gravel grating against the mouthpiece.

"...Phil? PHIL?!!"

There was silence.

"...f*cker dropped his phone... sh*t..." If she was a normal girl, she might have called the police and sat around worrying like a good civilian.

However, she wasn't a normal girl by any means. Normal girls didn't transform into rainbow-wielding magic users in a mini skirt. Normal girls didn't have wings on random occasions. And normal girls didn't make it a habit to fight against the monster population in a city.

However, what Phil had said did not sound like the familiar breed of monster rampaging through the city. Perhaps it was a bit bold on her part, but she didn't want to transform yet. It probably had something to do with the fact she actually knew Phil. It was also probably part of the reason why she was running as fast as she could as Ellie to make her way around the bowling alley.

It wasn't ideal, but near one of the alley ways, she found Phil's phone, but not Phil. She hissed out a quiet "Sh*t..." as she picked it up and gripped onto it tightly. It was a good sign, but at the same time a bad sign. Good that she now knew he was nearby. Bad that she still didn't know the status of her coworker.

That was, until she heard the least manly screaming from an adult man she had heard in a while.

She'd have to make fun of him later (if she remembered)!

She pushed forward, speeding around the corner to another alley and found Phil....

...on Phil.

It was odd, but whatever the hell Phil was dealing with at the moment looked exactly like him except for one detail.

There was absolutely no color to the thing. It was easy enough to tell who was Phil and who was the fake. "....so... when were ya gonna tell me that ya were into th'men now, Phil?"

Despite the joke, she could see what was happening. Grey hands were reaching for Phil's neck, but flesh colored hands were attempting to keep said hands away. Without hesitation, she intervened, walking up behind the struggle and pulling upon the grey shirt.

"...get th'f*ck off'a him..."

With a strong yank, she managed to rip the two apart.

Phil backed away quickly like a startled puppy, taking several huge breaths. "...holy sh*t..." he gasped as he seemed to attempt to get a grasp of his wits.

Ellie gave the copy a look as it seemed to struggle to go after Phil, almost as if it was trying to narrow the gap between the two. With a slight smirk, she uttered "...dude... Phil... you really need t'go to the gym or somethin'... this guy is such a p***y..."

With a shove, she pushed the odd gray-scale imitator away. Before it even had time to recover, she already was swinging a fist at its face. It took one hit to the cheek, and two jabs to the nose, and the gray mimic suddenly seemed to flicker out like an old TV.

Phil let out a groan after his grey counterpart had vanished, holding his head like he had a headache.

Ellie stood there, maintaining a certain distance from her coworker.

"...Okay... so... tell me... what th'f*ck happened?"

Phil shook his head. "I was just hangin' out... and then that thing kinda sucker punched me. It hit me a few times before it started with that whole strangle-hold thing... it wasn't that strong... but... sh*t..." He shook his head again. "...I think I've got a migraine from all that excitement or somethin'..."

Ellie smirked a bit. "...well... d**k-face... I found yer phone... that sh*t was like a horror movie or somethin'... right?" She held out his scratched up phone, as if she was offering to help him stand up again.

With a sigh, Phil offered a weak smile before grabbing his phone and lifting himself up to his feet. "...yeah... I totally saw this in a horror movie once..."

With the excitement dying down, the two began to walk. The blonde wasn't going to leave her redheaded companion's side until he was back at his place, safe. However, Ellie knew she had to ask some questions later on.
