Finn had been keeping himself busy lately. Either that, or his superiors were keeping him busy? Whatever the case, he hadn't had much time to just chill out alone in his room for awhile, but he was doing so now. The moon trainee was laid out in his bed, staring up seemingly into nothingness. He was letting his mind wander adrift in a tide of thoughts, while in his hands he clutched a lighter, one that he repeatedly tossed up into the air, and caught, over and over again, without seeming to even be paying attention to what he was doing.

In his bed next to him, his cellphone sat, on but nearly dead. He was going to have to find himself somebody willing to charge it with a rune stone again soon.

The door to his room was ajar. Completely thrown wide open in fact, revealing the stark cleanliness beyond, with not an item out of place, though the air currently seemed to hold the faint scent of cigarette smoke. He wasn't exactly expecting visitors, but if anybody did so happen to wander by, he thought that leaving his door open would be an easy enough way to see that he was in. He may have been secretly hoping that a certain sexy sun hunter might stop by, in which case, the door would be closed and locked in a hurry, but he wasn't holding his breath for that to happen as they had made no plans that day, and he could only assume she was busy.

So, just a boring afternoon, so far all alone, but sort of enjoying his own quiet company for the current moment while he continued to play catch with himself while staring at the ceiling.

Around Deus it was very easy to keep busy. There was always something to do, even if it was something simple like continuously planting seeds or tending to those budding blossoms. But even that was only the tip of the proverbial chore list of an iceburg, and Abbi was the kind of girl to honestly adore having the opportunity to stay busy. At least, most of the time. Today she found herself sluggish and unwilling to exert herself more than was necessary. After a quick watering of her plants, she trudged her way back toward her room with a resigned sigh.
There seemed no point in trying to coax her unwilling spirit toward more activity, even as she pocketed another packet of seeds that any other day she would be all too happy to shove into the Earth. There was just something about this day in particular that she had struck a low swing, her mood dismal for a reason she didn't know.
Well, if she gave herself the opportunity to think it over she would know it was because she was ever so slightly homesick. Not enough to cry over, but certainly enough to feel a little bummed about. No one from home missed her though, which only added to her melancholy. Not that she was thinking about it, of course...

Once turned around the corner that led down the hall to her room, Abbi was almost there when the distinct smell of smoke distracted her. It wasn't very strong, but it was still enough that the teen found herself sniffing along its trail until she paused outside Finn's dorm. The door was open and he was in, but all the teen had to do was walk four steps toward her own room and close her door. Finn was mad at her and she didn't want to incur his wrath further.
...But... She was really lonely... And he was in...

Sliding up to one side of his door frame, Abbi hid half her face along the molding before she opened her eyes wide and let a tiny, pitiful "Fiiinnnn?" bubble up. Hopefully he wasn't asleep...

The moon trainee didn't sleep. Or at least, he didn't do it well, and certainly not in the middle of the day, but Abbi of course wouldn't have known that. There was quite a lot about Finn that she didn't know, like how he could hold a grudge forever, if he felt so inclined, or how he didn't appreciate treating people with kindness only to be turned on. He didn't have to be nice to any ******** body. He didn't have to go out of his way to make friends. In fact, in his life before Deus, he had barely had any friends at all, and it didn't make him any less happy or any more miserable. It simply was what it was, and he just couldn't find it in him to give a s**t most of the time.

The voice came just as the lighter hit the palm of his hand, and fingers closed around it. Inwardly he sighed at the sound that drifted into his room, a pathetic one, like a whining puppy come for a pat on the head and to be told that it was a good girl. Well, he didn't feel all that much like indulging the girl that the voice belonged to. Not today, and not after her little rant at him, and certainly not after she had called Fini a ******** "prize".

Even if the woman hadn't acted upset by it, he had a feeling it probably bothered her more then she showed. She was like him, in that way, never wishing to let on what bothered the heart.

Pushing himself up to a sitting position in his bed, he swung his legs around so that they hung off of the side, feet planting flat on the ground, fingers clutching the edge of the bed with his lighter now pressed between his palm and the blanket.

"Abbi." He replied, voice giving no warmth, but it wasn't cold either. Simply...neutral. Cold eyes were what traveled to the door way, eyeing what he could see of her, which wasn't much as she seemed to be half hiding from him. "Was there something I can do for you? Perhaps you would like to b***h at me some more, and white knight for your new best friend, Jack?" His lips curled up into a smile.

"Come inside, Abbi, if you want. Or don't. Just do not linger half way. It's not very becoming of a young lady huddle in doorways, like a beaten puppy."

A cold shoulder act was expected, but a chill so noticeable that Abbi almost ran to her room for a coat was not. She'd expected Finn to still be a little angry with her, but this was so much worse. The teen edged ever so slightly back, clinging to the door frame as though it would shield her. That was silly to think, especially since she had been the one to reach out to the man currently giving her the 'get lost' stare, but the girl was all over very silly.
She flinched at his words, knocking her head momentarily against the molding not so much in a gesture of self flagellation as much as she just winced too hard. A tiny whine left her, but she shook her head a second later.
"I didn't come to... To complain." Even if he'd said it, Abbi wasn't very fond of cursing. "And Jack's not my best friend. He doesn't even like me... He hates me more than you do."
As for being compared to a puppy, she sighed and shuffled over to stand more fully in the doorway, hands finally leaving the frame to clasp each other at the bottom of her shirt. Finn had said to come in or not, but she just couldn't bring herself to step past the threshold.

"I'm... I'm really sorry for what I said. I-I didn't mean to make you made... Um... It just wasn't... It was really mean of you. Jack didn't need any more critique and not all of us were having as good a day as you.. But I'm sorry." Tacking on judgement to her apology was probably the worst way to deliver said apology, but Abbi was not particularly adept at actual apologies to people she considered friends. Especially not when she could continue to berate herself.
"And you don't care if I'm becoming or not. No one does."
{ Layin' on the pity a bit thick, don't ye think? }
Typically the advice and prodding from Viveca is good and Abbi listens, but today she is feeling particularly down and ignores her headmate.

Finn gave a mental eye roll at Abbi's words, his fingers tightening on the edge of his bed, and his lighter digging into his palm. His gaze remained steady on the door way, however, his smile never faltering. "And what makes you think I hate you, darling?" He asked, voice smooth but still just as neutral as it started, without a hint of anger, sadness, amusement...it was about as dead of emotion as it could possibly get. "I reserve that right to people who really deserve it. Annoyed with you? Yes, I am that." He wasn't about to beat around the bush about it. She had to know that going off on him about his treatment of Jack wasn't going to go over well, and if she didn't well...then it all just went back to the fact that she didn't know Finn well at all, and should never bank on the fact that he had been kind in the past, because that didn't mean that kindness would extend infinitely into the future.

Her next words had him gritting his teeth, debating whether at this point it would be best to bite his tongue. She was young, maybe only 5 years younger then him but that seemed to make a big difference in this case. How had she gotten here, on this island, with that particular level of maturity? It seemed that knowledge of each other ran two ways, and he knew very little about her as well, having never bothered to ask.

"A good day, darling? I lost my first ******** match, after my friends." He put emphasis on the word, the first hint of him showing any emotion in this conversation. "Either cheered for my opposition, or taunted me to the point of distraction." He wasn't saying he would have won if they hadn't, just that after the support he received, he didn't think it was fair to point any fingers.

"As for Jack, I've known him a lot longer then you, sweetheart. A bit of tough ******** love was what he needed, not to be coddled like some precious baby. He got second place, and he moped around on the ground behaving like his life had just ended."

Though Finn knew it had been more then that. The fallout of Stormy having told Nevada who he was hadn't exactly helped situations, but that was also something Jack needed to get the ******** over.

"As far as apologies go, Abbi, this one really sucks." He pushed himself up off of his bed, and strode over to her, eyes narrowing as he looked down at her and where she stood, still huddled in the god damned doorway.

Her final words had his smile finally slipping away, though the look in his eyes never changed. "Oh Christ, are you serious? Don't you go throwing a pity party now too." He let out a sigh, hand not still clutching the lighter coming up to rub at his face. What the hell was he supposed to do with her? She likely couldn't deal with tough love, which was all Finn could really offer.

"Because you're mad at me and--" But whatever else she has to say is left up to speculation as Finn continues on and Abbi quiets herself, not wanting to interrupt him. The time to be rude and pushy has passed, now she wants nothing more than to set things back to rights. She is undoubtedly fooling herself if she thinks that Finn will be her honest friend after this, but naivety is a heavy coat to shrug off.
"You're... Annoyed with me? But you don't hate me?" Surprise colors Abbi's face and she stands a little straighter, the hands previously picking at the bottom of her shirt slowing. "Do you really hate a lot of people?" Now was not the time to pry into his life, but the girl hadn't heard much of anything about his life before all this. He was older, sure, but by how much? And oh where was he from?!
Now that Finn had admitted to not hating Abbi, it was like he had absolved her of all sins. None of her past grievances mattered anymore and--

"I'msorryIdidin'tcheerforyou" Abbi rushed her words, her hands jumping up to slap against her face in despair. "I just thought you would win and I wanted Heidi to like me she was soooo cute! An-an-and I'm sorry you lost!" Not like it was really her fault, of course, but she would take the blame if it made him feel better. To show her devotion to this, the girl removed her hands from her face and flailed them a little, helplessly but somehow in a cute manner. Sort of...
"OK AND LOOK. Just cause you lost your first fight doesn't mean you didn't get to come back here and mack on Fini! She is like... Legit cute so you can't tell me that you had a bad day when that happened!"

Not wanting to dwell on Jack any longer than necessary, Abbi could not help it when a pity party was mentioned. Both her eyebrows turned down at that and her fists balled up to shake under her chin.
"Its not a pity party if its true! You don't like me, Jack doesn't like me, I don't like me, no one does!" Sorry Finn, if you had wanted to be the leader in this boo-hoo session, Abbi was going to do her best to succeed your throne.

What Abbi might not have known, was that she was probably fooling herself to believe that Finn was an honest friend before. A lot of what he felt about people, a lot of what he wished to say, he had been keeping locked up tight inside. Here he had an opportunity to try and change, to put in an effort to be that person that others could come to in a time of need, to be a hero that saved all the beautiful princesses, to try and mold his life into a new shape. But he knew who he was, and he knew that no matter what he did, there was no way to change himself so drastically.

He could only do his best to be more aware of how his actions affected others, along with his words as well. He could filter out the worst of it, he could put in an effort to make friends, connections.

But his problems lay solely on the inside, on how empty he felt, and on how much he just did not care if others got hurt for the sake of his own amusement, a source of filling himself up, by doing what he enjoyed, and that was by winding them up, seeing what made them tick and then seeing how much force he needed to exert to make them break.

She didn't know any of this. She never knew that he was probably one of the falsest types of friend anyone could ever have. She didn't know that when he had first met her, all that had perhaps saved her from him was her youthful, sweet innocence.

And it might still save her now.

"I really dislike a lot of people, Abbi, listen to me. I reserve the right to only hate those people who really deserve it." Like his mom, for instance, she was on the top of that list, but that was another thing Abbi, and nobody else, would know.

Now to see how the guilt tripping paid off, and well, he was getting an apology out of her, another one, this time for not cheering for him. He could feel a smile playing on his lips again, and he let it show, let it shine through even if his eyes did remain cold. "Getting better." And now an apology for his loss, but that part wasn't her fault, and he shrugged it off, stepping back away from the door to allow her room to come inside if she so chose to.

Wait, mack on Fini? Mack? What the hell kind of expression was that?

"Do you mean have sex with?" He asked, point blank, smile dropping away as he frowned at her. "And she's not just cute, Abbi. ******** hell, how old are you again?" He just shook his head at her, ignoring all the rest because really. Really? So much judgement in that stare.

And then back to the part where she rained pity down around them like a miniature, hyperactive, under aged storm cloud. He sighed inwardly, while all the while staring at her, blinking down at her with eyebrows still raised.

And then he turned and walked away from her, straight back to where he could sit on his bed, fishing a pack of cigarettes out of his jacket pocket and gesturing for her to come inside.

"Abbi, shut up for a second. When you say the word 'like', in what way are you referring?"

Since it was impossible to tell what Finn knew about himself but failed to convey through his less than expressive eyes, Abbi was none the wiser. And even had the man broadcasted his illusive friendship habits in interpretive dance, the teen would never have divined their meaning. Not when she believed Finn to be wholly capable of genial feelings toward his fellow peers, but especially when she had already counted him as a good friend. They had sung together and she had almost but not quite cried when he had been eaten! Despite her various transgressions, she still felt rather fondly of the now blonde and did really want to fix her latest and greatest mistake.
"So you're saying... You don't hate me... And I... Don't deserve it?" That was great! Fantastic! The teen lifted her head a little to grin at him, the hopeful look so plain on her face that even Viveca growled in her mind that it was too much.
Since he had said her apology was getting better, the girl thought it over for about two seconds before she stuck a finger at him in as kind a gesture as pointing at someone could be.
"And your new hair color looks really nice! I don't think I ever told you, but blonde suits you!" A compliment was basically an apology, right?

The second the question was asked, Abbi dropped her finger and went a bright red color, her hands waving back in forth quickly.
"N-n-no no no n-no no no no! I didn't m-mean th-th-that at all! I meant like-- Like you made out with her!" Oh god why had he said that?! Maybe they had, maybe that's why he was asking?! Didn't lots of guys like to brag about their conquests, so maybe that's what he was trying to gun for? Fini was really adorable but Abbi did not want to hear about that, thank you very much! "I'm seventeen! And I think she's cute! I don't have to think she's hot that's like, all on you bro!" Maybe now would just be the time to bounce out of this conversation since Abbi was totally digging her grave with Finn all the deeper. Maybe if she just turned around and ran to her room he would avoid her for the rest of forever? Just let her off easy and never talk to her again?

But Finn was walking off and Abbi found herself trotting softly after him past the threshold of the room. Walking away always seemed to pull her in and she shoved her hands together to softly wring them together. A deep pout formed on her face and her eyes shifted to the side as she spoke to avoid Finn's gaze.
"I can't answer your question if I'm shutting up." Daring to finally look at him, the teen stuck both arms out to her side in a quick motion to let them drop in defeat with a heavy sigh.
"I-d-k... Like... Being my friend. Why? What do you think I mean?"

Finn had to fight very hard to keep himself from sighing, or rolling his eyes, or both for that matter. "Yes, Abbi, that is exactly what I am saying." Was she always this slow? It didn't really matter. The giant grin on her too sweet and innocent face had what little resolve he held against her and residual grudge holding crumbling, so that by the time he had waved her to follow him into his room he no longer cared so much about what happened at the end of the final tournament match between Fini and Jack. He might not easily forgive, but some things could, apparently, be forgotten about.

For now, at least. If it happened to benefit him again at a later time to bring up such past transgressions, you better believe he would remember them all again.

"I know. I ******** rock the blonde look." He smirked at her. "I appreciate the compliment, though." That was as close to a thank you as he was willing to give.

Her sudden, very flustered protest against his posed question about what exactly "macking" meant had him very amused, the smirk only growing on his face when she stammered through her explanation. "Oh, well then yes, I guess I was macking on her." And no, he was not going to sit there and brag about his "conquest". If he knew that was what she was thinking, he might have reprimanded her for again making it out like Fini was nothing but a prize, a trophy to be to be collected upon some kind of great victory. As it was, however, he could only shake his head in bemusement.

God. Seventeen. Why did that seem so young to him? Only about five years difference between the two of them, but Finn had moved out of his home with his mother at that age, had grown up and gotten his own place to live, had gotten a job, and a dog, and.....well, none of that mattered anymore. And really, Abbi had come here, and he still didn't actually know her reasons behind making such a decision at such a young age. That had taken some guts though, he had to give her that at least.

Finn patted the bed next to him to indicate that the teenager should maybe sit down while he slowly worked a cigarette out of the half a pack that Fini had given him from her winnings..already down another half since then.

"Well." He said, slowly, letting a pause stretch out after the word. "We just established that I don't hate you. And you're here, in my room, telling me about your problems, and I'm listening. Doesn't that indicate that we are friends?" He asked, genuinely confused by her behavior, and faintly flustered, though he didn't let that part of him show in the slightest.

"And who gives a s**t if Jack likes you or not." Seriously, this time Finn did eye roll as he began searching his pockets for a lighter now as well, frowning when he couldn't seem to find one and...ah, there it was! He pulled the blue bic out of his pocket and tilted his head just slightly, thinking. "Though he probably does, I mean, he's pretty verbal about his dislike if he thinks somebody isn't worth his time to bother with, and so far I haven't heard him say anything bad about you."

See, he was trying to be helpful.

"And what about Ripley? You two seem pretty...close..." Or something. He made a vague hand gesture, cigarette pinned between two fingers.

Finn was so terrible at this.

Just to hear him say that he wasn't mad at her, that he didn't hate her for her treacherous actions, was enough to completely erase any of the bad feelings Abbi had had when she'd come to Finn's room. Now she smiled more freely, happy to follow him over to his bed. Totally forgetting that he had just mentioned the possibility of having extracurricular relations with Fini, the teen girl hopped onto the bed and made herself quite at home after a careful arrangement of her skirt.
Well, now that he mentioned macking on his lady...
Turning just a little pink, Abbi looked at him curiously, considered not saying anything and then asked a very hesitant, "So are you like... Dating Fini now?" Somehow that felt Very Important. Not really sure why, Viveca was happy to explain her reasoning on the matter, but the girl shut her out. Maybe it was just because it felt strange to consider relationships a priority here (Viveca harrumphed), especially when Miss Cass had told Abbi to not actively seek someone out more than seek friends out (another growl). Maybe it was just that Abbi was ever so slightly jealous that Finn was so awesome and got a really awesome girlfriend (less grumbling) or maybe the girl was going to stop thinking about it now because Viveca wouldn't stop the internal mumbling about being ignored.

Already happy and flushed, when Finn said they were friends, Abbi could have just about cried from joy. With a bright grin she scooted closer, batting violet eyes up at the man.
"We are totally friends." Conspiratorially she lowered her voice and leaned in a little, going so far as to cup a hand over her mouth. "I've never really had a guy friend. I've never really had friends, actually... More like acquaintances that avoided my company? Unless like... Online friends count? But I never met them or anything." To say the girl had led a solitary existence would be putting it mildly, but since she had also never picked up on a variety of social graces, it was mostly her own fault. And the fact that only now she felt as though the people around her understood her.
Except for Jack...
"Yeah but like... If he said anything bad to you, you'd get mad. So he's probably just saving face..."

Though Abbi made a small face to see the cigarette, she said nothing and sat back a little. When Finn mentioned Ripley, she flushed lightly at being called 'close' with him and leaned her head back to stare at the ceiling and think it over.
"I like Ripley! He's really nice and funny and sweet and he's good at fighting, he beat me once yanno, and and and he carried me and told me about his life before this I mean only a little but I like him a lot! But..." She sighed and leaned over so she could rest her head on Finn's shoulder in a forlorn manner. "I dunno if he likes me. Sometimes I think he's just being nice cause he's like that." Le siiighhhhh.

There were some moments when Finn found Abbi to be almost precious in her naivety, and others when he found it down right irritating but could put on a good show of patience and friendly understanding anyways. To see her now, with the faint blush that colored her cheeks as she jumped up onto his bed, however, made him wonder just what she was thinking. Was she embarrassed because of the location? Was she thinking about what he and Fini might have done in that bed? Did she have a question she wanted to ask him but was too shy to do so? That would have surprised him, given that half the time she was around he could barely get her to stop talking, so having her start hardly seemed like it would be an issue. Her curious look had him believing, however, that she was working up to the latter-most of his ideas, and he gave her a blank stare in response, his face carefully neutral as he awaited what might be coming next.

Oh. That.

"We have agreed to be exclusive to each other, yes." He explained, because 'dating' could have indicated that it was a more casual pairing, when Finn did not do casual. Finn gave the girl beside him a smile, but it was more of a baring of teeth then anything else, especially combined with his next words. "I don't like to share."

And oh yes, it wasn't as though Finn hadn't already thought out every possible way in which tying himself so closely to another on the island could be a terrible idea. Romantic involvement would ultimately lead to emotional ties, the worst kind to have to cut through should something happen to either of them, and the most messy to unravel should things between them ever fall apart.

But he kept all of that to himself. He wasn't about to sit here and have a heart to heart with a teenager who seemed giddy at the prospect of having a friend that was of opposite gender to herself. However, she seemed more then content to spell out her personal dramas to him, about not having any real friends, a confession that did have something twisting at Finn deep inside, a flash of memory from his childhood....

There was a reason he trained himself not to emote his true feelings, and a lot of that stemmed from when he was younger.

"Online friends do count." He said, snapping out of his own silent contemplation. "That's how I know Jack." He explained, deciding maybe further explanation was needed. "Though we did meet up once." Another memory he shut down before it could manifest, as that had ended on a rather sour note, but not because of Jack.

Finn could only bark out a laugh at what Abbi said next in regards to Jack, giving a small shake of his head. "Darling, I'm sorry to tell you this, but first of all Jack wouldn't give a s**t if I got mad at something he had to say about somebody else, and secondly I wouldn't get mad. Everyone has a right to their opinions."

But moving past that, because Finn really didn't want to talk about Jack. Nor did he really want to have an awkward conversation with a teenager about boys, but apparently he had stepped right into that one. He was forced to listen, cigarette still held between fingers, eyebrows slightly arched as Abbi went on a long rant about all of Ripley's best qualities. At some point, the cig was brought up to his lips, and his lighter raised as though to light it, before he paused, something about what she just said making about as much sense to him as nipples on Batman's suit.

"He's nice and funny and sweet. He told you about his past life and he carried you. And you think that's...just how he is." He deadpanned a little at that, giving Abbi his best Are you serious? face while a cigarette still dangled from his lips, just waiting to be lit. "Well then I don't know where I ******** went wrong because I've never managed to get him to carry me around Deus."

"Exclusive. Woooooow." That seemed even More Important. Dating seemed like fun, but Abbi wasn't so sure about it, having never tried it in the past. Not that she hadn't wanted to, of course... "So like... Are you guys gonna like... Hold hands and stuff?" For whatever reason, Finn didn't strike her as the hand holding type. Or the cuddle during a storm type... Well, maybe only during a storm.
And well... Since she was already sitting next to him, it would be really easy to just link arms! The teen lit up a little at the idea and looked up to see if she could sneak closer only to be greeted with a flash of teeth and an admittance of not learning the number one thing children are taught.
Startled enough that she kept her hands in her lap, Abbi looked back down at her feet with a small shrinkage of her person. Not liking to share sounded fine when it came to relationships but he... He sounded really over the top about it. With a small pout the girl considered it for a moment longer before she looked back up at Finn.
"You make it sound like you're gonna put her in a cage." That was probably over thinking it, but she couldn't help but think how nice it would be for someone to not want to share her.

A small silence, hardly a trifle, slipped in between them and Abbi wasn't about to push it out of the way. When she spoke to Finn, especially times like now, there was the distinct feeling of being out of her depth. He was an intense sort of guy even if he was very friendly to her (most of the time) and the way he never looked truly happy was very curious to the young girl. But all that flew from her mind when he spoke again and she straightened back up.
"Oh! You guys were online buddies? That's cool... From his uh... His website right?" She laughed lightly, "Maybe you and I talked once or twice on there and didn't know it!"
And how fun would that be, to have a friend before she'd known it? It was unlikely, unfortunately, as she had been fairly quiet on that site even on her best of days. But it had felt too bold for a girl told to hush her silly ramblings to the adults, so it seemed highly improbable that they had spoken in their old lives.

Hearing that Jack didn't really care about what Finn had to say only made Abbi shrug and sigh at once, the action larger than she meant.
{ Canna be helped, pumpkin. }
Viveca had been relatively quiet since then so to hear her now felt strange, but it did help to ease her disappointment over that a little. Jack might not like her, but Viveca had chosen the teen and that felt good enough to soften the blow of not only Jack disliking her, but Finn's lack of devotion to her as well.

The deadpan stare did make her perk back up. She laughed when he spoke again, mostly happy once more.
"Well, yanno. Its probably because you're not as cute as me." Now she really laughed, returning her head against his shoulder once more.
"And he's just really nice! I mean... Like... I'm sure he carries lots of other cute girls." That weren't her. Once again that weird feeling of jealousy from before came back, though she didn't understand it.
Flushing a little she looked back down at her hands before she spoke, her voice quick.
"So like... What do older guys like? Like what's the best uh flirting techniques or something?" That was a stupid question that she immediately regretted asking, quick to turn her face against his arm in hopes he would just pretend she hadn't said anything.

The way she said exclusive, making it out like it was some big deal to fuss over, had part of Finn wanting to smile and another part of him wanting to frown. In issues concerning Fini, everything seemed to be confusing to him, everything so contradictory to his usual feelings, to his usual type of woman, to the promise he had made himself not to get involved with anybody. He liked her, he really did, but at this point he also refused to think about the entire situation too hard because it was likely to give him a splitting headache if he even tried. So instead he just raised his eyebrows at her question, gave the girl sitting next to him a pat on the shoulder before shrugging his own. "Well...ya, why wouldn't we?" Because Finn was the hand holding type, actually, and the cuddling anytime type, not just during a storm, oddly enough.

Abbi's second question earned her a shake of his head and a scoff, though he did notice the way she had shrunk down when he said he wasn't good at sharing, the shoulder pat turning into him rubbing slow circles inbetween her shoulder blades in an effort to reassure her he wasn't some kind of terrible monster for being the jealous type. There were so many dirty comments he could have made about the cage statement, however, so many things he really, really had to fight saying, if only because it was sweet, innocent little Abbi, and did he really want to fluster her anymore then he already had?

So instead he said. "Do you think she'd mind terribly if I did?" In a very serious tone like he actually truly meant the question and that it most definitely was not a joke.

The change in topics was nice, because it meant dwelling less on his own relationship and instead put focus on Abbi herself, and what her problems were, and where they might have derived from, and just yes focus on Abbi please not Finn because he wasn't in the mood (and hardly ever was) to talk about himself right at the moment.

"You were on his website too?" There was a hint of surprise in his voice, though only just the littlest bit, as it seemed like it only made sense that other hunters would have stumbled upon such a place and joined up. Still, small world, wasn't it? He also doubted that they had ever spoken, however. Most of the people he'd kept in contact with over that website he had also chatted with over Skype, had seen their faces, if only just to confirm for himself that they were in fact real.

When Abbi shrugged and sighed, Finn might have eyerolled a bit. There was just no stopping her from wanting to make everyone like her, it seemed, and if she didn't want to think that Jack liked her well then, Finn wasn't going to sit there and argue it for the rest of the night, instead pulling his hand away from her back, because a cigarette really did need to get lit up soon, whether the other moon trainee liked it or not.

Her head against his shoulder didn't deter him as he finally lit up the cig that dangled from his lips, inhaling sharply until the cherry was burning bright, before pocketing the lighter and exhaling once more, his words coming out with wisps of smoke now swirling in the air. He couldn't, and wouldn't disagree with her on the cute comment. Finn very much disliked to be called "cute" anyways, though what he did say was. "I doubt it." Which had to do with the carrying around of lots of other cute girls, and nothing else.

And then she hit him with a proverbial bomb. Was she seriously...asking him for advice on older guys? Finn couldn't help but smirk, his careful filter from earlier slipping. "Steak and blow jobs?"

Woops.

Posed with such a question, Abbi shifted next to the man before she gave him a very childish look that was part petulant and part worried he might be upset with what she said.
"You don't really seem the hand-holding type." At least not to the teen whose idea of a relationship was still sunshine and roses, especially one who had never dated a boy let alone been involved with anyone more than mild acquaintances. It was especially difficult to imagine holding hands with Finn, the idea of cuddling with him strange to consider when he always looked so cold. Abbi half imagined she would freeze to open her heart in such a manner to someone like him, which was probably a good thing that someone as warm as Fini was the one to date him.
His question regarding the cage, however, did prompt the teen to look back up at him, taken aback by the tone in his voice. It felt important to answer his question with an equally somber tone, so Abbi looked up at the ceiling to consider it further. One hand snuck up to her shoulder to pull on a pigtail, fingers weaving through it idly as she considered.
Fini had been kind to Abbi on a number of occasions, had chatted with her when Finn had been camping and opened up to the teen. She had told Abbi about the ocean, and sailing, and how she'd been somewhat of a drifter. A more worldly girl might say that no one ever wanted to be caged, but to this particular girl who longed for someone who wanted her enough to lock her up, it didn't sound so bad. Finally she sighed before she looked up at Finn with a crooked smile.
"I don't think she'd mind too much if you were the one doing it."

Pushing away the idea that maybe one day someone would ask the same of her, Abbi straightened up and nodded.
"Yeah I was! I didn't post a lot... It was... It kinda freaked me out sometimes. I thought... I really thought that a lot of people were lying about the things they saw." It was easy to believe when there was always someone on the internet sighing wistfully and making some grand statement of how wonderful it would be to see ghosts and talk to them. Those people always thought it was like the Casper movies, or some lofty, fulfilling ability instead of being terrorized of shadows at the end of the bed, of being too frightened to get up in the night that one made themselves sick come morning.
"We probably didn't talk cause I didn't post a lot... But I was there, being a little mouse during conversations."

Of course she wanted everyone to like her! No one had liked her back home and everyone here didn't know a thing about her. They didn't judge her for past actions and instead let her current ones decide her fate. This place was fantastic!
Yet it was Finn's rebuttal about Ripley that really got Abbi going. She gasped loudly and whirled to look at him, eyes watering from her inhalation of smoke but undeterred.
"You don't think he carries cute boys do you?!" If Finn doubted that Ripley carried girls, then the only explanation was that he carried other cute people. And what if he only carried Abbi because she looked like a boy? That would be even worse!
Now really pitiful looking she blinked wide, watery eyes up at her friend and silently begged him to put her fears to rest. Not that she would ever mention, even to herself, why she was so upset over the idea.

All pretense of an act is dropped at Finn's suggestion and Abbi actually breaks down into bright laughter. A hand wipes away the tears from his smoking and she shakes her head at him.
"Aren't those two a little much combined?" She asked, flushing a little before she rubbed her forehead against his shoulder. "'Sides. I'm pretty sure Deus doesn't have any steaks and you uh... You don't want to talk about that second part." She didn't want to talk about it, but it was easier to just put the blame on him. A poke was given to his rib lightly with a small giggle.
"But I'm being serious! How can I get an older guy to notice me?"
