The obstacle course is swiftly dismantled, leaving the stadium ground covered in cubicles. In each one, a quiz pamphlet, writing tools, and scratch paper sit on a rather uncomfortable desk. It looks pretty mundane until the students are all seated, and the whir or machine and clanking of chains fill the air. Moments later, the cubicle walls are fully armed and targeting each of the students.
When it comes to education, Amityville Academy is a firm believer in the power of negative reinforcement!

HOW TO
THIS CHALLENGE WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 10-18, 11:59pm PST
There are 5 sections to this Quiz! Roll 1d10 for each sections prompts and points. You may roll sections separately or together. Your roll corresponds with how many questions your student answeres correctly! 1 correct answer = 1 point! RP it out. You can totally post non-rolling rp posts and interact with other player characters if you want. Check your character's stats here. Do not use the gaia thread. Intelligence Stat: distribute your intelligence stat to section point totals. This is your character's intelligence helping them answer more questions, and even avoiding what would have happened due to your roll. Luck Stat: this is the wild card stat, you can choose to use it for this event, or save it for the Tug-O-War challenge instead. If you choose to use it here, use it the same way as the Int Stat, only this time it represents your character being saved by being lucky. When you're done, fill out and post the correct form for your character in thread.
Section 1: Halloween History
This section of questions is all about the history of Halloween, some of the questions are fairly obvious, a few of them are strangely obscure and specific, there's a spattering of questions that seem to be stolen off of a human child's quiz, and there's at least one that's in a completely unreasonable code.
Rolling Results
1: Something large drops on your head, knocking you out for the majority of this section. 2: A trap door opens underneath your chair, dropping you into a deep pit. Most of your time in the section was spent climbing out. 3: You are set on fire. It's highly distracting. 4: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! A silent drama ensues! 5: A few of the questions appear to be written in a language you have never seen before. If you try to read it any of it aloud, a mob of wild eyed minipets appear and maul you. 6: Beloved alumni, Wet Willy, sneakily tries to harass and distract you. 7: Some questions are in code, but you do pretty well. 8: At least one page seems to be from a cookbook and has nothing to do with history. 9: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! Somebody picked the right person to cheat off of. 10: When you finish the section is glows with a golden orange-y light. No harm comes to you as perfection sits upon your desk.
Section 2: How2Math
The pamphlet opens to large masses of numbers, marching in columns and attacking your very sanity. Screams of pain and blood sprays erupt in nearby cubicles. Yes, it is The Dreaded Math. Most of it seems incredibly unreasonable, but a few are suspiciously easy. Once again, there appear to be pages and questions that don't seem to belong at all.
Rolling Results
1: Gas fills the air, knocking you out for the majority of this section. 2: A trap door opens underneath your chair, dropping you into a deep pit. Most of your time in the section was spent climbing out. 3: Lightning strike you. It's highly distracting. 4: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! A silent drama ensues! 5: A few of the questions appear to be written in a language you have never seen before. If you try to read it any of it aloud, your eyeballs melt in your skull, and take quite some time to regenerate. 6: Beloved alumni, Wet Willy, sneakily tries to harass and distract you. 7: Some questions are in code, but you do pretty well. 8: At least one page seems to be from a professor's diary and has nothing to do with math. 9: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! Somebody picked the right person to cheat off of. 10: When you finish the section is glows with a golden orange-y light. No harm comes to you as perfection sits upon your desk.
Section 3: Human World Studies
This section should be easy, after all, Amityville is known for having more underage creeple/human interactions than any other school in Halloween! Unfortunately a lot of the questions, illustrations, and diagrams don't resemble real humans at all.
Rolling Results
1: Something large shoots out and impales you, pinning you to a wall for the majority of this section. 2: A trap door opens underneath your chair, dropping you into a deep pit. Most of your time in the section was spent climbing out. 3: Your penstrictor suddenly grows large enough to eat you. It's highly distracting. 4: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! A silent drama ensues! 5: A few of the questions appear to be written in a language you have never seen before. If you try to read it any of it aloud, the "humans" on the page come to life and spend the rest of time performing interpretive dances for you. 6: Beloved alumni, Wet Willy, sneakily tries to harass and distract you. 7: Some questions are in code, but you do pretty well. 8: At least one page seems to be a shopping list and has nothing to do with the Human World. 9: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! Somebody picked the right person to cheat off of. 10: When you finish the section is glows with a golden orange-y light. No harm comes to you as perfection sits upon your desk.
Section 4: Literature of Halloween
Lengthy prose greets you in the next section, massive blocks of words fill each page, making it a little difficult to see what, exactly, the question is. Halloween is rich in wonderful novels, poems, and short stories, each delightfully chilling. Though some of these appear to be taken from the pieces of fanfiction written by students that tend to migrate to the school library from time to time.
Rolling Results
1: Somebody goes mad and jumps into your cubicle, fists flying and attacking you for the majority of this section. 2: A trap door opens underneath your chair, dropping you into a deep pit. Most of your time in the section was spent climbing out. 3: You are shrunken down to one inch tall. It's highly distracting. 4: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! A silent drama ensues! 5: A few of the questions appear to be written in a language you have never seen before. If you try to read it any of it aloud, your body is possessed for the remainder of the section. 6: Beloved alumni, Wet Willy, sneakily tries to harass and distract you. 7: Some questions are in code, but you do pretty well. 8: At least one page seems to be a poorly drawn crayon drawing and has nothing to do with literature. 9: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! Somebody picked the right person to cheat off of. 10: When you finish the section is glows with a golden orange-y light. No harm comes to you as perfection sits upon your desk.
Section 5: General Studies
A catchall, anything-goes section full of unpredictable subjects and questions. Every turn of the page is a new, terrible surprise, and some of it has likely never been taught in Amityville before.
Rolling Results
1: You get a first aid question. Unfortunately the question involves you being injured in a terrible fashion and bleeding out as you try to both fix it and write in the answer for the rest of the section. 2: The question is: a bear jumps into your cubicle, what do you do? A bear jumps into your cubicle, and you spend the rest of section trying to figure out what to do with it. 3: The desk turns into a toothy mouth that eats your hand. Darn it, Steve! Always such a kidder! 4: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! A silent drama ensues! 5: A few of the questions appear to be written in a language you have never seen before. If you try to read it any of it aloud, a group of hooded figures appear and try to drag you to some sort of initiation ceremony. 6: A cooking question fills the air with delicious scents that linger throughout the remainder of the section. 7: Some questions are in code, but you do pretty well. 8: At least one page seems to be just a piece of tree bark that has nothing to do with anything. 9: Somebody is cheating, either you or another student! Somebody picked the right person to cheat off of. 10: When you finish the section is glows with a golden orange-y light. No harm comes to you as perfection sits upon your desk.

FORMS
Once you're done rolling, post the form that corresponds with that character's dorm!
Tanita sighed as she returned to the arena for the next section. She stared, long and hard, at the cubicles, before selecting one near the back. Easy post test escape, right? Right! She got as comfortable as she could in a crappy cube as this, and found herself hoping that she'd NEVER be in one of these damn things again. Her wings were almost stuck. Easy escape would involve backing out first, and she was worried she'd knock the ones near her down. Oh wel... what was that? The sound of the machinery made her blanch, and the sight of the walls being freaking well ARMED near about made her go 'FRACK IT OUTY!' but she shuddered, overcame her desire to flee, and held it together.
Finally, after a few moments, she looked down at section one. She blinked a few times, and had to control the urge to burst out laughing. This was EASY, this section! She zoomed through the questions, not quite smirking, but definitely grinning. She worked through all the answers, getting them 100% right. Even that ridiculous one in code. It was the easiest code ever, obviously, since she cracked it and she'd never had a talent for code breaking! When she finished the section, she took a deep breath, set it down, and when it glowed, she pretty much basked in the glow. It felt soooo good, knowing she'd gotten this perfectly. Nothing much had she ever done perfect before, so it was a wonderful sensation.
When she flips over section two, she tries not to swear. MATH. How she hated math! That said, she got to work, and did as many of the problems as she could. The ones in the unfamiliar language she left alone. She didn't know what they said, and she was not one to try. Linguistics were also not her forte. When she got to the end, she had about half right, and she was pretty satisfied. After all, it was math and it could be far far worse. She could have gotten a zero...
Flipping over part three, she starts to read, and then, unexpectedly, the floor opens under her and she falls into a pit. DAMN these cubicles, it was way the heck too small a space for her to get out by flying too! She snarls and begins to climb her way back up. At least she hadn't gotten hurt this time! Finally, when she got back to the top, after closing the trap door, she stomps her foot on the trap door to make sure it seems to be firmly closed and got back to work. She'd lost a LOT of time, but at least it was on a topic she was able to use her brains to make up for some of it! She managed to get it half done, at least, before her time was up.
When she heard the instruction to turn to part four, she flipped it and grinned wide. BOOKS. She liked books. She'd done a lot of reading in her 1400 years of growing up, and apparently, she'd hit all the ones referenced on this quiz, other then the fanfic stuff. Even that, she was able to skim and get the picture. She breezed through it, grinning happily the whole time. And when she got to the end, and it did that awesome glowy thing again, well she practically sang for joy. She didn't, though, as she felt it would be rather rude to the other contestants in this insane House Cup game.
When she flips section 5 and a freaking BEAR jumps in to join her in the cubicle, she near about flipped her s**t. SERIOUSLY? A BEAR? A real farking bear? How much did it cost to IMPORT these damn things, anyways? How many did they import? Uggggggggggh this was so ridiculous! It took her almost all the time allotted to calm the bear down enough that it didn't try to eat her... Which wasn't THAT much better, because the stupid thing decided it wanted to take a nap, and while human twerps liked teddy bears, apparently this bear liked cuddly dragons for snuggling. That said, it was better then being mauled. She managed to get half an answer down before her time was up on how she'd talked softly to the bear til it stopped snarling and growling. At least she was able to work fast, since she wasn't too stupid.
After getting the last part as done as she could, she gave the bear a dirty look, and, grateful it was thoroughly asleep, she managed to wiggle free and escape the stupid cubicle. She gave it one last ugly look and fled the field til it was time for the next event. Being active at the booth certainly was FAR more fun and way less dangerous!
After her performance in the Obstacle Course, Ruth was actually pretty relieved to find the next challenge was a mental one. Not that she considered herself an egg-head but you did need some amount of smarts to be able to wield magic decently.
For the first portion of the test, Ruth did fairly well in her own opinion, even if it wasn't the most honest of methods. The second portion was more up her ally, and didn't so much as blink. Not that anyone could have seen if she did blink, given the visor and her bangs hiding her eyes.
Unfortunately, towards the end of the quiz, the reaper believed the fates were not with her. Either her penstrictor was more interested in her hand or the questions were some sort of summoning possession spell. Worse yet, someone or something cut her and all that blood was proving too distracting for her to properly answer.
Petro did not expect to do well on the exam. Not at all. He was a physical sort of boil, much more comfortable getting beat on with fists and knowledge. So when the alumni tried to distract him, Tro couldn't help himself but make a smack to emphasize his point of not wanting to be disturbed.
The diary portion admittedly threw him for a loop, he first thought it was a word problem. Instead it was just words about their problems. No relation to math whatsoever. But he did manage to write down some advice on the matter. Just in case.
The code portion also threw him for a loop. But then he remembered the very first code he and some of the other students encountered on the Foggy Island Field Trip. Which meant he just flipped things around and he did surprisingly well.
For the last two portions, Petro was too distracted by the other test takers and nearly, very nearly got fed up to the point of lifting their chair and throwing them right out of the arena. All in all, the tikbalang apologizes for his performance, Monster Dorm.
Lattice settled in to her little cubicle and then began to work at her little quiz pamphlet. The Engraver stared down at the listing of questions and demands it made of her. There seemed to be a strange code about the way it was written. It takes her a few seconds to decipher it as she begins to answer the questions put to her. She wasn't sure what this had to do with History but she was never one to back away from a difficult task.
All in all she may have done...alright? She wasn't sure. Lattice was certain she misinterpreted something.
The math portion perplexed her, she couldn't quite understand what was being asked of her - she even read it out loud only to find her eyeballs melting. Lattice took off her mask to reduce the mess, and it took some time for her eyes to regenerate once more. Damned math.
Just as she recovered from her episode of melted eyeballs and got her mask back on there was a sudden drop from underneath her and she found herself having to clamber back out, but at least she didn't fall too far down as she caught herself with the needles in her arms (OW), she'd almost been expecting this to happen. When she got back she tried to answer as many as she could.
There was a sudden screech as she tried to get to the next section. They were flinging fists and yelling obscenities and Lattice spent much of her time fighting them back and reasoning with them with calm soothing words, also with a few well placed needle-covered arms to the attacker's face. When they finally retreated she settled back in to finish the quiz with a small huff.
The last section was almost too easy, even though she was certain some of the questions that were brought to her were never discussed in a class. Either way she answered them once by one and when she was done she could sense the glowing through the enchantment on her mask and basked in the perfection for a bit, until she was forced to leave.
As the second challenge began, Astra hovered over the school grounds, blinking at the sight of the cubicles. So their next test...was a test?
Well, Amity was a school, so it made some sort of sense....
Finding herself a cubicle, she dropped down into the seat and did her best to get comfortable in the awkward seat. And no sooner had she prepared herself to do the test, there was a whir of loud noises, and Astra found herself staring at a host of killing items all pointed straight at her.
The fae sat there for a few seconds, before screaming. Could she get out of the test now?!.
No...no...she had to stay, she needed to uphold the pride of the demon dorms!
But no sooner had she began the first section, was she set about by the flamethrower. There was a series of screams as the fae cried for her mommy while trying to put the fire out, and secretly wondering if all the fire breathing dragons in halloween were out to get her. With a few more sobs, she wiped her eyes and got to the next section.
Even though there was math, and lots of screaming (for once it wasn't her either), she didn't find this too difficult. Though the Alumni student kept making faces at her, and she found it very annoying. At least she was able to answer more of the questions this time. Flipping the page, she then read through the human section...or tried to at least. The question made no sense what so ever. She then tried saying the words out loud...only to find the pictures came to life.
It was pretty cool actually, so she wrote some stuff about the dancing humans.
As soon as she finished the section, a loud bang caused her to jump, and another student jumped into her cubicle. Astra had to spend her time hiding under her desk as the monster boil seemed intent on trying to hit her. What happened to not hitting a ghoul?!
A little shaken, she pulled herself back to her seat and looked at the last section. The questions were weird and had little to do with anything, but Astra got the gist of it. She just made her answers weird and wonderful, and as the page glowed bright she grinned. At least she got one section right.
Okay, this was much more Junko's speed. She sighed with content relief as she sat down in her desk, situating herself for a moment before she picked up her penstrictor. The ghoul cooed quietly to it, gently petting it with one finger until it relaxed and coiled loosely around her wrist so she could comfortably use it. A soft 'good boil' was whispered to it before she got to work.
She was working quietly, getting through the quiz, when a movement in the corner of her eye caught her attention. Junko blinked and looked up, catching sight of a student beside her blatantly craning her neck to see the futakuchi-onna's paper. She gasped, looking desperately for some kind of authority figure to rat her out to. In the end she merely took a piece of scrap paper and scribbled a very important message across it.
The other ghoul narrowed her eyes and reached for the paper. Junko swat her hand away and returned to her work, raising her hair to completely cover herself from all sides. No cheating on her watch, b***h.
When Junko opened the math pamphlet she didn't even bat an eye until she heard screaming. She blinked and looked up again in time to see the spray of blood from the cubicle beside her. The cheater's blood. Heh. "Serves you right," she muttered before turning her attention down to her test again.
She finished that section of the test faster than any other section of the test, putting it to the side with a cheerful hum. Junko didn't even notice the strange glow coming from it.
This was going well! So much better than the obstacle cou--
And then her pen tried to eat her.
Junko shrieked and flailed her arm, clamping her other hand over her mouth right after to try and stop herself.
When it finally stopped she decided to just..use a different pen. Sorry, penstrictor.
She felt eyes on her again. There it was. That same ghoul as before, only now she had a black eye and a bleeding nose. Junko narrowed her eyes and mouthed no.
All was well again until she turned back to her desk and found it eating her hand.
Sophie eyed the paper and was pleasantly surprised when she realised it was on history; one of her favourite subjects. she breezed through the answers and the paper gave off a nice glow when she was done indicating she had probably done a good job.

The next set of questions were on math and sophie was quite confident in her answers. Behind her was the sound of gasping and whispering and she turned to give the students behind her a glare. unfortunately, the test supervisor thought she was the one who was cheating and sophie spent the rest of the time protesting. luckily she had already answered the questions she could.

He continued to bother her for the next part of the test but sophie answered as many questions as she could. she handed in her test, pleased with her almost perfect score.

It was a wonder as to what the school was thinking when it came to these things. Pokerus had taken one look at the amount of cubicles, before sighing in resignation that she had to do a jacking test for this part. All she wanted to do was to show off her super strength.
With dreams of single handily taking the monster dorms to victory, the dragon sat down and waited for the test to begin. The starting signal ended up being a large noisy machine noise as her cubicle was filled to the brim with all sorts of dangerous contraptions. She stared at the various guns, arrows, and weird monster shaped weapons, before shrugging and focusing on the test itself. Her ******** were not given.
The first part was a little difficult, but she was able to translate much of the section and answer the questions. The math section though looked a lot harder to accomplish, and Poke had to spend some extra time figuring out what the hell the questions meant. Eventually she did get the gist and wrote down the calculations, and surprised herself when the test glowed a bright orange. It looked like she did have some brain and not just brawn.
As soon as she flipped the paper, the floor beneith her dropped, and she was sent tumbling down into a trap door with a lovely loud "FFUUUUUUUUUUU" Thankfully she managed to grab onto the edges, and climb back up with her sharp claws.
"Jacking stupid doors..." she grumbled, sitting down to take the test again only to have the door open up once more. Her cursing was repeated, and again precious time was wasted.
Making sure the trap door was securely shut this time, Poke sat down and looked at the last section in pure confusion. Just...what the hell were these questions?! Scratching her head at the question, she just decided "jack it" and wrote down minipet poop for all the answers.
Surprisingly that seemed to work.
With the test down, the dragon ghoul yawned, the laid her head on the table to take a nap while waiting for the test to be over.
