Serenia was lovely in the fall. Even with the nasty shadowed moon in the sky, it felt like home. Suluksati was taking a stroll in the woodlands and it felt like a ridiculously decadent thing. That is, good. She hadn't seen any dragons around today or the day before, and in Serenia she felt she could relax- a little, at least- and take in the lovely scent of dry leaves and herbs and sunlight. She closed her eyes to sniff deeply, then stiffened, opening one eye to look out warily. There was a smell under the leafy smells of soil and life. Dragon-Ysali. And blood. She flared her wings- her break was over and duty called. She bounded through the trees toward where the scent emanated, hearing the sounds of combat through the trees. A pained roar echoed through the forest, vibrating through her feathers and she took wing. A clearing opened up in the forest before her, a pack of Ysali dragons in dire battle with two orderites. The battle was not going well for the dragons, and the orderites were cutting at them viciously. Suluksati's hackles raised and she dove- she would not allow the dragons to be slaughtered! With a roar she attacked the orderites, her blast of light dulled by the moon- out of sight but not out of mind. The orderites were surprised by this new threat from the sky and the Ysali pack took the opportunity and breathing room to attack with their spells and claws en-masse. "Gah!" one of the orderites said, blocking Suluksati's attacks with a shield, "Lets get outta here!" Their tattoos burst into wings and they flew out of there with short bursts, some of the Ysali chasing them away. Suluksati was satisfied and circled back around, only to see one of the dragons struggle to it's feet, totter, and fall, lifeless to the ground. She rushed to it's aide, but it had already begun to disintegrate away. The dragons remaining in the clearing began advancing on the Drakein threateningly and, not wanting to waste the dragon's death, she grabbed the soul and flew away.
