Isidore hugged Scim as he waited with his sisters for their father. They knew he was home and they had been told that he wanted to see all of them. That could only mean round two of their telling off. "Do you think he's going to shout?" He asked his sisters, he was a little afraid, their dad was fun, he took them on adventures and he didn't get mad ... not really, Isidore didn't really fancy finding out what their dad was like when he was mad, not at all.

"I really hope he doesn't." She had never heard her father shout, which was probably why the idea would seem so scary to her. Caelia simply couldn't imagine it.
She was sitting down on the floor next to Scim and her brother, her head resting on her knees. Worry was not an emotion she ever had much reason to feel before - at least not worry for a event like this. She was no stranger to being punished, no, but their father was never really the one to handle those things. She knew what to expect from their mother. Caelia had no idea what to expect now.
"Im sorry. This is all my fault."

Kyrie paced a little behind her siblings. Her stomach was twisting in painful knots and she was finding it hard to sit still. Looking to her brother and sister as they spoke, she wandered closer and knelt down beside Caelia. "It's not your fault at all Cae. We would have done the same thing," she said softly as she wrapped her arms tightly around her. "We wanted to help Daddy, right Isi?" she said as she looked to her brother for confirmation though she knew she did not need to. She knew that her brother felt the same. Had they been the ones to overhear their parents talking about such grave matters, surely they would have decided to concoct a crazy scheme to help as well.

Isidore stroked scimitar's soft ears and nodded. "We were just trying to help, I don't think that's bad. Maybe we should have thought more but ... dad can't do everything." He gave his sisters a small smile. "We're all equal." He truely believed that, Cae may have planted the seed but they all worked together, it wasn't any more her fault than it was his or Kyries.

Caelia sniffled, but said nothing. It didn't change the fact that they were deep, deep, deep in trouble. She was used to being in trouble, but not this deep. And she'd dragged Isi and Ky right with her.
Needless to say, the sooner this was over with, the better, as far as Augury was concerned.
This was about where Ankou wished parenting came with some sort of instruction manual. He really didn't have the faintest idea how to go about with this, to be honest. How could he explain this in a way to make them understand ? He had no plan of screaming at them - he had never been one for such displays unless there was a damn good reason to do so.
And what would screaming solve, anyway ? They needed to understand that what they were meddling with was dangerous, for themselves and for others.
In the end, he settled with simply entering the room and see how they would react. Seemed better to gauge the situation first.

Kyrie looked up as the door opened and their father stepped into the room. Swallowing hard, she gave her sister a tight squeeze, then eased back and took Cae's hand in hers. "Hi Daddy," she said softly, glancing briefly to her siblings. "We missed you a lot," she continued as she watched him carefully. She wasn't going to play up to him as if they were innocent in all of this, they were clearly anything but. "Are you mad?" she asked softly, her free hand going to Scim's soft fur.

Their parents really were quite similar Isidore thought, they weren't the kind to shout or lose their temper. Sometimes that was not always a good thing, it made situations hard to read. Was his dad mad? Yep he imagined he was ... but how mad exactly was a mystery. "We did miss you loads and loads." He confirmed, never hurt to play the cute card now and again. "We are sorry, really sorry."

Well, their father didn't look like he was going to shout. He looked mostly like he always looked. It was a relief in itself, but it was also exactly as her brother thought. It made it hard for her to gauge the situation, which in turn did not help with the uncertainity she felt. "Yeah. We missed you."
Apparently they were trying to cute him. Ankou would repress his amusement at that fact, and instead moved inside to sit right in front of them. No use relocating elsewhere, and no use to loom all over the three of them either. "A little." He admitted. "But I am mostly worried. It was very dangerous, what the three of you tried to do."

Kyrie watched their father sit before them and swallowed back her nerves. Part of her wished that this was a happier reunion. She would have much rather been able to greet their father with a cheer and tackle. Breathing in deeply, she glanced to her siblings and nodded. "We just... really wanted to help you. We wanted to show you that we love you. We really thought that Isi could do it," she said softly. It had made perfect sense at the time.

Isidore nodded. "I thought I might be able to make them calm." He said softly, "I did it before but there were too many of them." He sighed a little and looked down at the patterened tile flooring. "I won't do it again I promise."

"We thought it was a good idea." Caelia still felt responsible for all of this, but she knew her siblings would have none of it, and now wasn't exactly the time to try and wrestle them on the issue. She hadn't moved from resting her head on her knees, with just the smallest hints of a pout on her lips. Augury was used to being in trouble, but this was a whole new ballpark.
...Oh, these silly little children. "It is alright. No one got hurt and that is the important part." It honestly was not that bad of a plan, and he was both surprised and proud that they had managed to chain it all together like this. If they had all been just a little stronger, then it might have very well worked, even.
It was quite impressive, but it was hard to truly scold them when he also wanted to praise them for thinking outside the box. "That's how it goes." He ruffled his son's hair lightly. "You start small and then go on to bigger things. You bit off more than you could handle, that's all. I was not much better at being me when I started out, too. But everyone could have gotten hurt, really hurt, and none of you three had a way to control the situation when it spiraled out of control. That is what I want you three to understand."
Oh, there were plenty of stories of how much he had messed up even with a prior life backing him up, but the last thing he wanted to do was give the terrible trio ideas.
((Im sorry, he just can't XD Somewhere Cos is facepalming...))

Kyrie nodded solemnly and pulled herself up onto her knees. "We understand that now. We will be more careful Daddy," she promised softly. "We're really glad that you are back home," she ventured with a hint of a smile. The sooner they could put this big mess behind them, the better. It would be a long while before she'd ask her crows to call out to any rogue spirits again.

Isidore was quite surprised that his father was not quite telling them off, more giving them advice though it was advice that he would remember. To try not to get too far ahead of himself. Though if you didn't experiment how did you know where the limit was, that was his thought on the matter anyway.
"I'll be more careful next time." He said softly, hoping that they could do something fun soon.

"I'll be careful too." And the next time she heard her parents talking, she had the feeling she would just ignore it all. She would hear about it if it was important. Or the birds would tell her what it was.
Snooping around was just trouble, and Augury preferred more merry trouble like sneaking cookies out of jars and going off to the market.
The fine line here was that there were much safer ways to experiment, not that he had been too good at this himself. Clearly all three took from him on this aspect - little walking disasters. The though was an amusing one, but he kept his amusement at bay for now.
At least they tried. It was no good for gods to be stagnant.
They seemed to have learned their lessons, to he would leave it at that for now. "I am glad to be back too. It was quite cold in there." That was the kids' opening to start drowning him in the inevitable questions.

Kyrie glanced to her siblings and her eyes lit up a bit at the hint of information he afforded them. Abandoning Scim's side, she crawled forward on her hands and knees to perch herself in her father's lap. It really felt good to have him home again. She missed him terribly when he was gone. "What was he like?" she asked with open awe of her father. He was so brave to be doing the things he did. She hoped that she would grow up to be brave like him.
