Colby: Not really just here to see what everyone else is thinking about. i mean im with music and stuff. i kinda just have to understand an environment and that kinda stuff
E-Claire: I should tell you what kind of music is needed then. Let me see… well, to start off with I think some rather mysterious music would be needed, since there’s an element of mystery to the game. I’ll take a minute to think about what else is necessary.Or shall I expand on mysterious music first?
Colby: i should be okay with just mysterious i can work something out. do we have any idea what we are making though?
E-Claire: Yes, I do (not so much the other members). I’ll explain it now. I’ll do a bit more of the plot summary and game play summary. Is that helpful?

Plot Summary
Intro: The year is… 2113. (technology should be pretty advanced by then smile ). There are two significant changes in society. The first one is that the government is corrupt- it will murder innocent little bunny rabbits dancing in the meadow in the name of research. Secondly technology is really advanced- a lot of games played are in 7D or whatever you want to call it. Aka. Computer stuff feels REAL!
Game start: A fairly large group of teenagers (aged between 12 and 17) have either volunteered or been forced into one of the governments new experiments. Their memories are temporarily wiped, they are put onto life systems, and they are put into a computer simulator of a school. So then the ‘students’ (aka. volunteers/forced) awake in a school they think they know nothing about. They spend the first day being confused, and questioning (NPC) teachers about what’s happening with no prevail. But suddenly a strange voice (project organizer/runner guy) resounds (?) throughout the school. The voice says that all of the students will be living within the school for 112 days (can be changed). Within that time they must do two things. The first is to complete a special individual goal, sent to them now (now in game time)(sent like to their brains in a game chat sort of thing). If they fail to complete it they may never leave this world (I haven’t decided if the voice if lying or not yet. I’m still kinda working on the experiment specifics- but something about working out how far people can be pushed, morals, etc.). If they do, they get one ‘wish’ (a limited wish of course). The other thing happening over the 112 days (from here on referred to as the term), is a ‘karma project’. Karma in this world is like a currency. Each student starts with 100 karma. They earn karma by completing missions set by teachers or the voice, by receiving it as a gift from others, or by winning it in a challenge with other students. They lose it by breaking rules (set by the voice at this time as well), giving it to others as a gift, or losing student v student challenges. If you run out of karma you are terminated- but none of the students know what is meant by termination. Rewards/special areas are unlocked for those with higher karma. The voice announcement ends, and the player receives a ‘special’ goal- to make sure at least 100 of the 500 students fail their goal (NUMBERS ARE EDITABLE!). Though they don’t yet know this, those with higher karma (say at least 750 karma) can ‘read’ another person goal by paying a certain amount (say 50 karma). Only the player is exempt from readings (they can’t be read). And so it begins!
The bulky plot development area: This is the part I’m most foggy on, since a lot of it will consist of ‘missions’ (things for the IRL player to do), and different ‘paths’, both of which still need to be discussed with the team. But here are the basic ideas. The player starts meeting other students, getting an idea of their schedule, learning the map, that sort of thing. For the game, tutorials will be happening now. Stats (if we use them, which we probably will) start being built at this stage. After this the player will begin to fully realize the voice is evil, when people are forced (due to karma purposes) to do immoral things, when the voice says some fishy things, and when people disappear into (the impossible to enter) headmaster’s office when they hit 0 karma (termination time basically). The player is invited into/forms (undecided) a group about the voice. How this group develops depends on the player’s path, but it’s goal is to discover the voice’s identity, it’s goal, and how to escape (since they don’t really trust the 112 days thing. shame). So the player completes tasks related to both the team and the voice’s commands. Along the way I think I’ll throw in some love interests, because that makes life exciting, and gives more endings. I can even include a love interest who turns out to be her brother who turns out to be the voice, and it’s all like WOAH! Back to the point though, we need come romance. Now the plot here branches off into different parts, depending on choices made/the ‘path being followed. But let’s put them into two main categories- fail ‘paths’, and win ‘paths’. For fail paths the player will either be terminated, trapped in the school, or will just be traumatized by events. For win paths the player will either defeat the voice, escape the school with their love on the 112th day, or just be satisfied with whatever else could happen. People on ‘fail’ paths will all get one event at this (whatever this is) point, while people on ‘win’ paths will get another. The event could be something like a massive student rebellion, or a murderous voice command, just something along those lines. How the player reacts to this event (I really need to develop this part with everybody else) will determine exactly how they end the game. And I suppose the it’s The End. You get a scene to summarize your path, and a page to summarize your path. Be proud. And hopefully each path should teach you some kind of moral, so the player can feel like the game actually had some kind of meaning.
Colby: school terms are 16 weeks, we can fiddle with it later but for now just to be accurate

Colby: so its not like a currency its more like a ranking system? so basically end goal is we are working against the voice right? the voice is the bad guy? right so since the voice is the bad guy and we still need high karma the story works in the way of helping out the voice. which works but on the other side of that would we lose karma if we did somethivoice didnt want. and if he is the bad guy we will be doing stuff he doesnt want pretty often. so the way im seeing events unfold so far goes like this
START: player confused trys figuring it out, out of confusing and willingness to leave becomes a problem child in the school trying to get kicked out. Someone beats him to it and gets terminated which would put fear in him to earn karma, all the while starting to notice the corruption making him start his plan for “voices” downfall so he works up his karma to get access to all the places and rewards that near the end he would start to use to take down the voice?
E-Claire: It’s kind of both, because you can use karma to buy things from other people, even help from them. It’s to trade for items, and to rank with. Are you there? Yes, the voice is a bad guy, but it isn’t realized at first. When it is, a group of students (including the player) starts to work against the voice to bring him down, and to escape. The player can decide if the student is a problem child or not by the choices they make. The building up karma idea can be hinted at, but since there are multiple endings, it’s possible for a player to fail at it.
I think your idea is a great one for one of the main ‘paths’, but for there to be multiply endings there should be ways for players to derive from it.

Colby: One of the things i think is we need artists that have a similar style. right now i think we only have 2 and without giving opinion on either they don't seem to mesh. and from the looks of it they are both more into characters
E-Claire: I think Holly (Catie) will be in charge of characters, which are fairly important. But I haven’t found anybody else, whose main focus is art, to do the other parts yet. Which is a problem. I could try to do a little, but since I have to learn coding (fun times) I can’t do much. I think we have 2 others, whose main focus isn’t art, helping with the art, but I have no clue what they can do. Am I missing the point again?
Colby: I’ve taken several art classes in high school. i just want to stay away from character design
E-Claire: Sure, what do you want to do then? Backgrounds? Buttons? Nothing? (Please tell me if i ever miss the point by the way.)
Colby: thats what i was saying and stuff. backgrounds buttons i could do i guess. anything you want really i should me pretty okay but characters doesnt sound good.
E-Claire: Ok, characters will be left to Catie then. Do you want to be in charge of a particular art category? You don’t have to draw only things in the art category you’re in charge of, just organize who’s drawing what for that art category (Examples. Backgrounds, Buttons, Other).
Colby: I dont know im kinda lost all im saying is i can do a few stuff XD lol
E-Claire: Sorry XD. What sort of thing do you want to focus on? Like Catie is focusing on characters. Do you have an art speciality you want to focus on? You can still do other stuff, but maybe focus on one thing. Or do you just want to generally help? (And have nothing to do with characters)
Colby: i want to just generally help and have nothing to do with characters. im good at using space and good at colors and stuff but those are more ideas kinda idk.
E-Claire: You can just do general stuff then, and discuss with the artists what you can do. I don’t know much on art, so I’ll leave it up to you and the other artists to decide among yourselves what needs to be done by who. (I’ll still keep checking on you all though). Are you happy to move on for now, or do you want to discuss more art things? We can come back later if need be, when more people are on.

E-Claire: Alright, onto the gameplay summary. Feel free to make notes below at any time.
Gameplay summary:
The game obviously won’t start with everything being revealed. That kind of ruins the plot, since a big part of it is working stuff out. Thus, the game will start for the IRL player with them entering their info (name, gender, starter stats). Next, they will wake up in the school. There will be a hopefully not too long introduction scene, which is basically the first day. Then on the second and third in-game days will be tutorials, such as how to raise stats, the importance of your decisions, basic gameplay, etc. After that, the player will be completing set tasks’, building stats (which affect choices and events), and making decisions which change their ‘paths’. Finally, along comes the big end event. All previous game progress will change how this event plays out, and there will be one or two things the player must do in the event to finalize which ending they get. Once the event if over, they get an un-interactive scene which shows their ending, and a page summarizing their stats. Game over. Oh, I could also throw in some trophies/achievements/accomplishments! If I can work out how, I will make a trophy system, to make players play again to get all the trophies. Trophies will be things like ‘X path achieved’, ‘first kiss’, ‘full X stat’, etc, but with cooler names. (I totally want to do one called ‘BROTHER?!’)

Mars: I love this! I just finished reading the storyline/plot. I can’t wait to get started. I have a question though. What kind of program are we using to make it? There’s something I’m using in my gaming class called Game Maker which you could get free online AND it’s easy to use. I could help you learn to use it and we could definitely make it work.

Mars: Well, I can play several instruments and I can sing so I’d love to help out. I also have a music program for writing music so I could make a score of some music for the game easily.
E-Claire: I think we have one other musician so far. You guys go talk music (I’m sorry, I’m so un-technical), and I’ll go check. Please, discuss what music you want to do, what you think is appropriate, who’s doing what, etc. Really. Talk. It’s not an order… for now! Ok, we also have MK300 doing music, and Nova doing voice acting.
Mars; I can also do some voices. I do a lot of voice impressions. biggrin Examples: different accents, GIR from Invader Zim, Brittney Spears, I don’t even know anymore…
E-Claire: Awesome! I’ll let Nova know. As for music that needs to be done, let’s start with background music for different settings. Eg. Mystery background music, happy background music, romance background music, tense/realization background music.
Mars: What kind of music do we really need so far? Maybe we should make a whole outline of the story to put in little bullet points for the music that’s needed.

Character List So Far:
This is incomplete, so you may add to it (in your colour). I want everybody to have a chance to make a character. Characters are still being developed, so please suggest name or personality changes! Note to Catie- For each character, can you draw several expressions/poses. That way the character expressions/poses can be re-used each time they speak, the one being used depending on how they’re speaking. Eg. An angry pose, a happy pose, a confused pose, etc. You only need to a few though, I don’t want to overload you with work. Oh, and more pose for main charries, less for minor ones.
Main good charries:
-Player (character choses name), 16. Has no specific personality, since the personality is determined by the player. I’d like the artists to do at least one female version and one male verison of the player character, with fairly ‘common’ appearances’. But if you have the time, you could do several versions of each gender so the player has a selection of appearances to choose from. Caitie’s (main characters artist) choice.
-Cody Kert Clarke, 16. The players best friend. He is honest, even if a bit blunt, and always loyal. Cody is very kind, although he can be too worrisome, and a bit reserved. He should have large, warm eyes, and could be tall to give an idea of a responsible, reliable guy. Since he’s worrisome, he’d probably worry about his appearance, so Cody should look quite neat and tidy.
-Sarah Dwight, 16. Shy and quiet she tends to keep her head in books. She is rather smart, tedious, and organized. She has short bobbed hair with a slight curl on the darker side of blonde. Round glasses lay before her brown eyes.
- Chica Todd,14. She is a cute, young girl, who is very hyper active. She often joins into conversations/events without permission, and is really clingy. Chica is happy-go-lucky, but some people find her carefree attitude (and clingy-ness!) rather annoying. She has bright blue eyes, and blond hair in bunches. Chica has a petite figure.

Main bad charries:
-Keiran Justin Parker, 17. Keiran is a ‘class rep’ type character- he likes to be in charge and organized. He will do what he wants to get what he wants. Keiran is OBSESSED by rules, and he will punish those who disobey ‘the voice’. He is also a bit OCD, and insecure of himself. Justin has an extremely tidy appearance, but is still kinda good looking. If you’ve read the Gone series, think about Caine.
Other charries:
-Maxwell Durand (17) Maxwell or Max, is a rockstar wanna be. He is neither good nor bad. Max always looks out for himself and would rather push the person in front of him then succomb to the proverbial bear. However, deep down he has a good heart and he just might help a cute girl or boy in distress. His black hair could use some trimming as they hide his deep, bright, enticing, green eyes
so question….is anyone against homosexual relationships? WHOOO!!!! I wanna make Maxwell bi.kk.
