The worse part about having no energy was that when you were done with your daily chores (which you really had little choice but to do since you had nothing else to get off with), you had nothing else to do except sleep, or sit in your doorway, or take a walk.
Dory had decided that the first and last option were boring, and so, he was there, just chilling in the hallway, fiddling with a cigarette. He was unwilling to light it because it mean he was down another cigarette, which was now a crisis, and he had decided that he would only light one if he was in a disaster.
But he wasn't now, he was currently staring down the rooms that he knew were occupied, having decided that maybe he should start a conversation with whomever could be in them. Sighing a little, he stood up, and wandered to the first door he deemed worthy, going to knock on it lightly, feeling a little silly.
"Ehhh, Allo? Anyone in this room?" He called out, hoping he didn't get a dead end already.

"******** No." Came the reply from the other side of the door.
Nick had given up on doing things. It was a ******** mess no matter where she went, and as one of the more foul-mouthed trainees, if she stuck her head out there she would surely be put to work. This cheap-a** team she had joined clearly didn't have enough money to pay for hired help, and despite being apparently magical enough to summon a weapon out of a stupid object, they couldn't magic their chores done.
Nick hated the chores. Not so much because she hated doing them, she was no stranger to rough, chapped hands and aching muscles, but because she just couldn't put up with the other trainees. Everyone had a story. It should have brought her closer to them, united on a common front or some s**t like that, but there really was little in the way of commonality. Nothing had changed, joining the ranks of people 'like her' just proved to be the same social battleground as everywhere else.
Lying flat on her bed staring at the ceiling, she decided to maybe skip out on her chores tomorrow... At least her evening ones. She did want to eat, after all.

he stated out loud when the voice came through. Sure, he may be badgering whoever was on the other side of the room. Sure, she had only said two words, but they were already more interesting than any sweet talk that he had heard recently. It had personality and snark. He was interested.
"Oh, angry ghost, I promise, no chores, I am just curious who lives down the way from me, non?" He called out again, wondering if he could chide her.

Nick flopped an arm over her face, immediately assessing the voice on the other side of the door. Clearly it wasn't a hunter, as far as she knew they didn't just 'move in' at full hunter rank. By the accent he was probably bilingual. By the cursing and insults he was not looking for a 'good time'. All things considered, it was probably okay to keep running her mouth. "Just shut the ******** up and leave me the ******** alone!" She shouted through the door. If she felt like expending more energy she could have gotten up and locked the door, just to make a point, but she had yet to meet another trainee worth that much energy.
