At first Jason felt like sighing in relief that he was fighting a man this time, but then realizing what that implied, so he kept his moth shut because no homo dammit. But the major distraction was the wind that was blowing around the course. Having landed on the dunes once more, he had to shield his eyes as some of the sand was getting in them. "Ick" He spat some sand out, then held his sword at the ready. Jason wasn't familiar with Roland, so he would have to be careful, try to see how the other fought and what kind of weapon he used. And hope he didn't get killed in the process. He took a few steps forward, then lunged forward with a quick slash. HP: 50 Damage: 7

Roland was stalking the dunes again, about to climb another when he finally got caught. After having had luck so many times on his side catching people off guard he was finally caught on the other side of the table.
The slash came too quick for Roland to do much about it, Sylvia snapped into existence the scythe flickering to the side to push the other hunter away.

The sudden appearance of the scythe was startling, leaving Jason to hold up his sword in hopes he wasn't about to run him through. the moon trainee then quickly put some distance between himself and Rolan so that he didn't get cut in half by the larger weapon. Standing on one of the higher sand dunes, he watched his opponent warily, waiting for him to make the next move. HP: 50 Damage: 2

Roland still had one trump card up his sleeve but he wasn't ready to reveal it yet. Some hunters knew, others didn't Jason had never fought him so it stood a chance he was safe to hide his plan.
Instead he rushed the other hunter spinning his weapon over head and down in a slanted slash stomping through the sticky sand with every step.

Now that the idea was brought up, Jason did feel tempted to do more running then fighting...
..Although it would be a pretty stupid idea. For now he could see the spinning weapon coming down on his head, so he held his sword up to stop it from going right through, the impact jarring his hands.

"Well from where I'm standing you seem to be running." He felt a little poke from the other hunters sword and scowled, his jacket was falling apart from all of this. Rin has ripped three clean gashes in it during their match and now this hunter was joining in.
Jumping up and after the other hunter Roland took a moment to pull the dirtiest trick in the book.
Pocket sand.
With a flick of the wrist from one of his pockets he tossed a lump of sand into Jason's face before swinging Sylvia around wide and one handed from the end of her hilt easily catching Jason off guard.

Since he was up high he could see Roland easier, but he had no idea just what the other hunter was planning, right until he had a face full of sand to deal with. Nearly dropping his sword, the moon tried to brush the grit out of his eyes with one hand but felt a slash to his back take out a nice chunk of his shield. He wasn't able to see too clearly, but he was pretty sure Rolan was still in front of him. And the hunter wanted to play dirty, well, he could too. "Fine then!" In a flash, Jason had lunged forward, using his full weight to try and tackle Roland off the top of the sand dune and onto the sand below. HP: 40 Damage: 9

Suddenly Jason was barling down the hill sword first in a blind attempt to tackle Roland. While it was considered fighting and not running it was also about the last thing Roland had expected.
Sword first and hunter second the two tumbled down the dune and into the sand. Now more then ever was the time to use Sylvia's tricks. With a twist the scythe split in half spilling out a chain which quickly wrapped around Jason's neck to try and squeeze his shield out.HP: 30 DMG: 7

Perhaps the moon trainee should have thought more about his attacks as he rolled down the hill with the other hunter, taking a few seconds so his head would stop spinning. But as soon as he was ready to get moving, he nearly shrieked as a pair of chains were fastened around his neck. It was a neat trick, but more then that he freaked as it bit into his shield. It didn't stop him from breathing, nor did it stop him from panicking and slashing anything in front of him in order to get Roland to let go. HP: 33 Damage: 8

Sand kicked and flailed into the air as the two hunters rolled around, Roland trying to keep Jason still and choke out his shield, and prevent the other hunter from stabbing him. As it just so happened, Roland got stabbed pretty badly too judging by the sudden shock he felt through his fear shield, and by the way the chain around Jason's neck seemed to loosen suddenly.HP: 22 DMG: nope

Thank god the chain was coming loose! Able to concentrate more on what he should be doing, Jason grabbed the chain with one hand to try and pull it off his head, bringing his legs up to kick Rolan off at the same time. He was surprised he didn't feel any worser though for having being choked however. HP: 33 Damage: 5

The kick caused Roland to grunt in shock as they struggled on the ground, chain still partially over Jason's neck. In all there squirming the other hunter had forgotten that Roland's weapon still had a scythe, albeit a smaller one, connected on one end of the chain which quickly started to hack at the hunter in question.HP: 17 DMG: 7

s**t! Jason cursed, the scythe cutting through his shield as he tried to deal with the chain instead. It looked like he would have to forget that for now and just focus on Rolan's weapon, especially the sharp and pointy bit. . Letting go, he held his sword with two hands and thrust it upwards. It was a awkward angle at best considering the proximity of the other hunter, but he hoped it would make him realize he had a sharp and pointy weapon too. HP: 26 Damage: 7

Roland felt the sword more then he saw it, the impact on his shield and Sylvia trying to divert what would be a lethal blow stabbing through him was rather discomforting as it was, he could feel the cut, but his body wasn't truly wounded.
Yet.
Scrambling off the other hunter he snapped his scythe back together with a shake of top half, grabbing Sylvia in both hands he returned the favor slamming the weapon down hard and fast on Jason as pay back for all the stabbing earlier.HP: 10 DMG: 8
