It had been a few days since he had been in the lecture about the runes and integral part in the way of the island, it had just taken him a while to get to this point. The weary looks to beach had calmed, which was sad for someone who grew up on a freakin' island and how to handle himself in the water. Or maybe he'd just chalk it up to being busy and preoccupied.
But Milo was finally at the beach to try his hand at getting some of the stones to be made into the runes he kind of wanted to get. Somewhere in midst of disarray of clothing, he had managed to find something suitable to wear for underwater adventures; he had actually packed a rash guard, and he threw on some shorts. So, he geared up, adjusted his tank and took the plunge.
Wading in the shallower waters wasn't so bad, but then progressing maybe a little bit further... he was attacked by a small sea monster.

It was small for sure, but Milo wasn't exactly sure how much he wanted to fight something underwater. He knew how currents could be not to mention the dangers that lurked in the waters at home. So, he attempted to swim past the thing as hard as he could.
That didn't work.

Milo hissed slightly, a string of bubbles flying around his mouth as he rubbed where the sea creature had struck him. It wasn't as bad as perhaps a sword wound, but it was still pretty annoying - especially since he didn't even know what the creature was.
The brunette hovered for a moment, trying to consider his options. He wasn't really that good with strategy, so the thinking really just took a moment of his time before he decided to barrel into the monster ans hopefully make it through. Dumb luck seemed to prove itself true, and he got himself past the thing and further now to where he needed to go.

He had a vague notion of where the stones would be found, but caves he wasn't sure he had expected. Nicely housed, almost presenting themselves on a silver platter. Eh, beggars couldn't be choosers, he shrugged and made his way into one of the caves under the island.

Dumb luck would strike once again, in the form of a pleasant little hole in the broad island that was now his home (well, under its waters). Nothing was attacking him, though he wasn't aware such a thing would be possible really, as he found himself looking at six very nice looking stones. Milo grabbed them carefully and placed them in his gear.

Going back now, even with his nice little collection, seemed like such a waste. He was already down here anyway, so Milo decided to go look for more.

And now he was aware that he could find monsters in these caves. And this one was nice and huge, causing him to release a few more bubbles from his mouth as he attempted to just kind of flee.

Thankfully, he managed to get away from the gigantic beast of the sea. But, he wasn't turning back now and went to explore another cave.

His next spot in this tour under the seas of Deus didn't find him with a monster encounter, but something of the nicer variety. A cave of stones. There were four this time.

A small gamble, but Milo wouldn't complain with finding two rocks. It beat sea monsters.

Like a little fish poking at coral, Milo continued his search for more shiny rocks to collect.

Milo found himself three shiny stones to take back. His little collection was growing, and he felt compelled to make it bigger.

Yes, little holes in rock, make his collection grow! He would have laughed maniacally but that would be a waste of air supply and his hole might just break off and then he would die.
So, he just picked up his rocks.
