At eleven pm in the evening, which was considered morning for some people of the exalted variety, such as himself, Mark was looking thoroughly suspicious as he sipped on a mixture of old, stale coffee and beer, meandering around the life labs -
- Before slipping right into the hallways like a ninja. No one would notice him because he was a ninja. He narrated this out loud, because that is what ninjas did. Not the weird Allan sort of ninja, he was talking about real ninjutsu masters of steel here okay. God. He wasn't a nerd or something. This was also narrated out loud much to the annoyance of the the late night crew still working.
"And then, Mark the Awesome avoided all danger as he narrowed the corridor, looking around for trouble. No signs of danger. He took a step. No signs. He took another step. Still no signs."
This continued onwards until he finally reached his destination, a door marked CONTAMINATION ROOM 11 PLEASE WEAR SAFETY GEAR. He didn't, and stepped right in.

Kat, being the night owl she was, usually preferred the late night shifts to the day shifts any time. With a fresh coffee in hand, Kat made her way through Deus when she finally spotted a familiar hunter, skulking through the hall. Standing there, she watched a moment, merely staring and sipping her coffee as she listened to Mark narrate his own actions. Not something that was knew to her.
Casually tailing behind him, the sun hunter made sure to keep her distance, as to not give herself away. Not that Mark would even notice he was being followed, what with him being so in to his little adventure.
When he finally entered the contamination room, Kat set her coffee down and followed him in, unaware of the warning on the door.

The room was dark, too dark. It was devoid of everything except for what looked like a bunch of glowing coloured orbs scattered around the room and a pair of night vision goggles.
"Experiment number 123232 - B," Mark's voice was muttering in the dark. "Darkness controlled battling. I am the darkness, the darkness is my advantage. The darkness and I are one. Come on little guy you can do it."
There was a pause, a moment of tension, and then what sounded like a small soft squeal and then a weird squelching noise.
"NOOOOOO," he suddenly lowered his voice remembering he was supposed to be ninja, "Mark Junior number 36! You had such promise. Why?"
He still hadn't noticed someone else had slipped into the room.

Kat stood behind Mark, quietly watching. She didn't say a word, nor did she give away her position. Only after Mark Junior number 36's failure, did she speak.
"Darkness, huh? I thought you were supposed to be the soldier of light. Or whatever it is your Star Wars thing is." Not bothering to greet him, she merely stood there, eye brow raised as she stared at him suspiciously. "What the hell are you even doing?"
Mark was always sneaky, but this was a different case. Just what was he up to?

Mark shrieked like a girl, there was a loud CRASH, followed by a bang followed by the sound of the same person screaming in pain probably from hitting some sort of limb with something-
- Before the floor literally got covered in hundreds of glowing orbs that weren't so much orbs as they were eyes.
Hundreds of tiny glowing eyes that were incidentally anywhere from fluffy to slimy in texture, all shuffling around Kat's feet and legs. It was still notably, dark.

A grin was immediately present on the girls lips as Mark wailed from being startled. Though, she did not expect him to tear down half the room as he fell over. "Honestly, how could you not know I was here? Hell, the glowsticks hanging from my goggles were a dead giveaway!"
In any case, her gaze shifted down to the small glowing balls of.. eye..balls? What the hell were these things? Pausing, she bent down to scoop some up. "Oh my God! Poor babies! Mark! Look what you did!" Yeah, she was totally blaming him for this.
"And why is it so dark in here?"

"Oh my god they're not babies they are man eating machines of war and they get super scared intimidated by my awesome presence when it's bright and why are you still here you are standing in my sacred ritual grounds. This has gotta be a violation of ten conducts or something right here and now. Goodbye. Au revoir. The door is that way."
The things Kat scooped up, whatever they were seemed to make happy bubbly noises. Several other tiny fluffy bodies pressed up against her. If anything, she was probably being hugged to death by less than one foot fluffy 'machines of war', as Mark put it.

Puffing her cheeks, Kat shot Mark a questionable look - not that he would be able to see it. "Too bad for you, I never listen to you." She said, refusing to move an inch from where she stood.
Lightly stroking some of the creatures in her arms, Kat practically cooed over the sight of glowing beings. "Pfffft, man eating machines, my butt! What are you doing to them anyways? Are you cloning yourself? Because I must say, its an improvement."

"I am not cloning myself," pause, and one could practically hear Mark stroking his chin fuzz, "but that's not a bad idea, if I don't say so myself. Yes, this is a perfect idea. I Mark, will create a clone army to take you down, prepare for your doom! Well, that's plan B, plan A is, and brace yourself, is this!"
The lights finally flickered on, though it took a second for both to adjust to the lighting. After the initial adjustment it would reveal that both Kat and Mark were surrounded in a minipets contamination unit. There were minipets everywhere, mostly fat fluffy ones. One that was wearing a helmet that looked a lot like Mark's currently eating its own poop.
"BEHOLD! MARK JUNIOR!" Mark pointed at the poop eating minipet, who continued to the the following.

Lifting her hand to shield her eyes from the sudden change in light, Kat's grin grew wider as she eyed the minipets surrounding them both. "Awww! You're right! These are far too cute to be your clones." How cute they were! Hugging them closer to her, her attention shifted to the minipet pointed out by Mark, who's appearance to him was uncanny.
"You know, I never imagined you eating your own poop before, Mark. But after seeing this, its all I can see now."
A small snicker escaped the woman's lips as she reached down to scratch one of the minipets backs. She always loved small animals, and even though these ones were kind of weird, she still liked them.

"T-that's not poop!" Mark squeaked, "He is eating the fallen remains of his enemies. Behold! He fiercely destroys his natural predators with ease!"
A fluffy thing that kind of sort of resembled the Death lead was picked up by the scruff of its neck and placed next to Mark Junior. At first, absolutely nothing happened-
- And then about five seconds later there was a pile of destroyed and hairless in some spots fluff that may or may not have been Mark Junior. "No!" Mark (Senior) pulled at his own hair. "I don't understand, my simulations were perfect. We trained for weeks. I bet like, I bet it's because-"
Accusatory point at Kat. -"Because of your sith lord taint."
The minipet that may or may not have looked like a certain Death lead had waddled over to Kat and seemed to be both judging her and ready to claim any loose fingers between its teeth.

"Funny, it looks and smells a lot like poop to me."
Kat's eyes widened slightly as Mark junior was quickly devoured by the small minipet with the look of a certain death lead. For the moment, Kat didn't know whether to laugh or scold the creature for what it had done. "I take it, this has happened before? Just how many of these things have you sacrificed to the mini death lord?" she asked, reaching for the minipet, ignoring its threats to bite her as she plucked it from the ground.
"Hey, don't blame me for spawning weaklings like yourself. Its a wonder they even lived this long." By now, Kat was already stroking the mini death lead look alike, contemplating on whether or not to keep it. If not only to scare Mark further.

Mark Junior coughed, wheezed, and then in a sneeze, seemed to simultaneously lose half his hair, bald patches appearing all over it. It rolled over to one side and stared at Kat with the saddest eyes as if to say leave me here to die.
Mark himself hadn't noticed as he kept on talking about how difficult the dungeons were and the trials and dangers of minipets; basically he just really liked to hear himself talk. The Death treat managed to somehow look disdainful as it was pretty much coveted by Kat, and then rolled on its belly as if to say scratch over here too, and I demand only the best treatment ever.

The creature named after Mark was a pitiful looking thing. Honestly, she was surprised it the critter was still alive, especially with the Death Assistant as its care taker. Poor thing. It was almost too painful to look at. But, that was usually how projects of Mark's looked.
Making a mental note to see to that minipets health later, she gave it a light pat on the head, shaking her own in turn. Her full attention turned to the mini Caelius sitting in her lap, as she rubbed its belly, completely ignoring Mark's ramblings. Yes, she was going to keep this minipet. Surely there was something in here that she could haul back to her dorm, to keep this minipet comfortable. After all, she wasn't going to leave it in Mark's hands, not after what she had just witnessed here today.
"Just how many of these.. Mark Juniors have you gone through?"

Mark started counting with one hand. And then a second. And then he just stared at his toes for some reason as if he had X ray vision that could peer right through his shoes (he probably thought he did).
"Look-look here, you" he glowered at Kat still holding the abomination minipet. "As a wise person once said, it's not about the road getting there but about the achievement at the end." It actually sounded a lot like something Allan would have sai- "Now give me back that thing I'm going to shave all the fur off its back and shame it for traumatizing poor Mark Junior."
