Rumors of strange creatures and places appearing have popped up ever since the Moon began to glow an amber red. People call this event the Blood Moon. Once such place was recently found by your friends. When the Blood Moon is full, a passage appears on Ayr that leads to a strange swampy glade. Gathering together a group of people, you've traveled to this place to test yourself. Your friend challenged you to a test. They said that deep with in the swamp, if you follow the twisting pathway, past the dead white tree and across a fallen statue, you'll come to a glade surrounded by a ruin. In the middle of this glade is a black flower that pulses with a dim purple glow. They have challenged you to go and pick this flower and bring it back as proof of your courage. If you don't, they said, you're a coward!
You may have just one person be challenged, or multiple and you all meet up outside the cliff that the challenger told you opened up to reveal the swamp.

Alright so this hadn't been the smartest thing to do in the world...after all what was the benefit to him to go to this creepy place? What was he trying to prove? Okay so mostly it was to prove to himself that he had what it took to become a guard. Someone who would be able to slay dragons of any size and shape, to protect his family especially his little sister. He had already failed that once, and he intended to never do it again.
Approaching the base of the cliff he ran the stories over his head. Apparently a path was suppose to open up and lead to a a strange flower that only bloomed at this time of the year. He wanted to get one so that he could show it to Seuno, wouldn't she be proud of him if he managed to do that? Get that rare flower? That would mean he was strong enough to protect her.

Nuivian ran his hands through his hair as he looked around his location on Ayr. What was he getting himself into this time? He sighed briefly as he thought back on what it was that had brought him out. It was his pride really, though it was a rare occasion indeed when his pride outweighed his apathy. He could almost hear his cousin's taunting, calling him a coward. Really Nuivian just wasn't interested, but when called out... well, here he was.
He was alone on this one. Even though his cousin had called Nuivian out, apparently he wasn't brave enough to come down here with him. Nuivian scoffed at the thought of the lame excuse he had used; he had plans for tonight apparently, and according to him, he had already gone. Yeah, like that was true. He rustled through his robes and got out the map he had gotten of Ayr. Not that it did him any good; secret locations weren't on maps now were they?
He wasn't paying attention, trying to get his bearings on where he actually was one this land when he hit something hard. It was about his size, and definitely softer than a rock. Nuivian bounced backward, getting his distance and prepared for some sort of attack.
Only to find that it was a boy.

Madryn looked over noticing that another boy was coming up the path and coming to the base of the cliff, he hadn't really payed that much attention to him approaching only feeling a bit relieved that he wasn't the only one here now. Perhaps this young boy was suppose to be doing this courage test. He wouldn't lie he was relieved he wasn't alone anymore, but he hadn't expected that the person was going to walk right into him. It almost caused him to fall over but he managed to catch his balance.
"Hey!" Madryn started as he looked up and realized it was another dovaa. This would be his second one he had run up against though this one looked a lot different. "Ah...sorry...." He muttered as he rubbed his bare arm, his gaze then going back to the cliff side. It was suppose to reveal a secret path...
"Are you here...to ..you know...find the flower?"

Nuivian relaxed slightly at the sight of the boy. well, at least it wasn't a dragon, right? He had had about enough of those for a while. His body was still sore from trying to win against just one of the dragons that he had fought. Though he wasn't about to tell anyone about that little adventure.
Nuivian raised an eyebrow at the boy in front of him. He was apologizing... for Nuivian bumping into him? Well, alright then, why not. "No big deal." He rolled his map up and shoved it back into his robes, assessing the kid in front of him. He wasn't much younger than Nuivian to be honest, so he had no real right calling him a kid, but whatever; he was still smaller, if only slightly. "Yeah, I don't really see what the big deal is about. It can't be that hard."
He tugged on his robes to straighten them out. "You are too then? Probably don't know where you're going, right?" Nuivian certainly didn't so this guy was probably just as in the dark.

Adventure post:
You have arrived at the foot of the cliff. The moon hasn't risen just yet, but it should soon. All about you is darkness, broken only by the far off starts above you and the pale mists swirling about even though there is no breeze. The night is silent; no insects buzz, no dragons call out, there is no sound except what you make. As the Blood Moon rises in the East, casting a reddish amber glow upon the swirling mists, you hear a rumblings sound and soon the earth beneath you shakes and quivers. The cliff suddenly breaks apart and a howling wind rushes out from the newly opened crack. As suddenly as it began, it stops. And silence descends once more. Before you is a large crack in the cliffs... shall you enter and test your courage?
If you enter, Go to Passage.
If you chicken out, Go to Flee

Licking his lips he shook his head, he had no idea what to except or where to go from here. Something was suppose to happen when the moon had risen and it was rising in the sky right this moment. He was about to respond when suddenly the cliff face in front of them shook and a sickening sound of the rock splitting erupted into the air. Taking a step back, he couldn't lie and say he was not startled. The path had opened as the rumors had stated ...and now he cast a look to the dovaa boy and gave a small shrug. "Ah...looks like we have a way to go now..." He pointed out the obvious re-enforcing the idea by pointing at the chasm . The young orderite wouldn't lie and say he was brave enough to go in alone. He really hoped that this dovaa would come with him. "So...I guess we should ..go in..."

The words had barely left Nuivian's mouth when the moon started to rise overhead. According to everyone this was it, and Nuivian wasn't exactly expecting anything impressive to happen. He crossed his arms and looked up with the boy in front of him at the moon but was suddenly shaken from underneath. The ground was moving and it was much more that Nuivian had anticipated. His face showed his sudden reaction and he let slip his fear for a moment, the cliff face splitting open and pushing air forcefully around, over and through Nuivian and the boy. Nuivian had to hold his arms up to keep the dirt from flying into his eyes and then quite suddenly - it stopped.
Nuivian looked to the boy and when he noticed that he was looking back, he straightened his face and pushed his hands through his hair, laying it back down after the wind had ruffled all of it up and around his face. He shrugged with him, acknowledging his pointing out of the obvious. "I guess we should." He looked down at his feet briefly, as if willing them to move, and looked back up at the orderite in front of him. "If we're gonna do this, we should probably at least know each other's names, right?" He held out a hand, more out of formality than actually wanting to make contact. "Nuivian."

The crack in the cliff is filled with sharp rocks and is barely lit. Only a faint red glow comes from above where the cliff's broken halves meet. As you stumble your way through, you are continuously surrounded by a wailing wind that howls by you as it flees the Swamp. The further along you travel the stronger the smell of decaying life and stagnant water gets. Finally you reach the end of the cave. Before you lies a swamp like no other you have seen before.
There are trees here, but most of them look like they are dying; drooping and covered in hanging moss as if they don't have the will to stand up straight any longer. Strange pale blue balls of fire float about the swamp, meandering about on unseen paths. Small red dots flicker towards you then vanish, eyes of the animals that live here. As you walk forward, you notice that there is no boundary between land and water. grass grows on the water, making it look like land; while the land is often submersed under the water so that to follow the path before you, your feet get soaked. Strange hooting calls echo about, and you feel as if many eyes are upon you.
In the distance you spot a pale white tree, shining through the gray-green mists that lurk above the water and obscure everything.
You may continue forward, Go to Path
or you may flee, Go to Flee.

Nodding his head mostly to himself he tried to convince himself this was still a good idea. "Ah...I am Madryn." He managed to introduce himself it a bit belatedly. Now staring up at the pathway and giving a small swallow. "Alright..time to do this." The young orderite tried to get himself mentally prepared to go up the pathway, he swore he felt the clammy wind caress his cheek. Shivering he took a step forward before looking back and making sure Nuivian was following close behind. The wind was fierce and it felt like it was screaming. There was nothing more he wanted to do besides cover his ears and try and block out the horrible sound. The sheer cliff side rose above them and it seemed to make him feel so insignificant and when it opened up to the swamp he wondered just how this was going to play out. Strange blue lights were dancing about the swamp's murky surface and they felt strangely hypnotic if you stared at them too long. A couple step forward and then he found his feet were getting wet, he backed up looking confused as he could of sworn that he had stood on grass. "Looks like its..marshy here...watch your step.." He murmured before he looked up and spotted a ghostly looking tree in the distance... "I guess the only way to go is to move forward... Madryn is going to : Go to path

The way in didn't look very promising, but the orderite in front of Nuivian seemed to be ready to go. Though he was looking slightly pale after all of that shaking and rumbling the cliff had done. He couldn't blame Madryn really. Nuivian was just about as scared as this kid looked. He put his hands over his face, pulling skin with them as he pushed them down, trying to clear his head. He took a deep breath in and almost marched forward with Madryn into the gaping hole the cliff had opened up to them.
The trek down was just as windy as the initial opening, and this time it came with a howling screech. Great. Nuivian tried to hold his hair down and in place as they walked through. Suddenly Madryn was a little shorter than he should have been and Nuivian had to look down at the slimy, wet grass they were standing in. "You're kidding me, right? We have to go through this gunk?" It was just complaining out loud mostly. Nuivian was in too deep to go back now. "Well, let's go to it then. Fast like a bandaid, right?" Nuivian sloshed through the muck and passed Madryn, his skin crawling at the feeling of all of this mud and junk creeping onto his skin. It was so unclean.

As you walk along the damp winding trail that meanders through the swamp, you sense something following you. Before you is the pale white tree that you were told to pass so next must be a fallen statue. As you look about the mists swirl about and you see in ahead of you a huge shattered stone facing staring at you. Then the mists swirl and its hidden again. Was this perhaps the statue? Every other direction has trees and more trees. As you stand by the pale tree that glows in the red moon light you hear a sound. Spinning around you spot ::
If the group does not include any battlers: You turn around and see a group of Will-o-Wisps floating towards you. :
The mists suddenly flare up and you spot many glowing balls of blue and green flames float towards you. You notice that there seems to be skull like shapes inside the balls of cold fire.
If Group's total LUK is between 1 and 9: You spot 4 Dunkels (LUK 2)
The dark shadows suddenly appear from the mist and 4 large Dunkels come flapping towards you, letting out a shrill scream.
If Group's total LUK is between 10 and 19: You spot 4 Will-0-Wisps (LUK 10) and (if the group has 18 or 19 LUK) 1 Animated Pumpkin
The mists suddenly flare up and you spot 4 glowing balls of blue and green flames float towards you. You notice that there seems to be skull like shapes inside the balls of cold fire.
If Group's total LUK is between 20 and 29: You spot 3 Borlarn (LUK 20) or 3 Borgnah (LUK 25)
Silently and quickly, the shadows come charging towards you. In the reddish light of the Blood moon you see the deadly slim shapes of the Borlan, deadly armored hunters. Or You see the large shape of a huge furry spider with glowing golden eyes.
If Group's total LUK is greater than 29: You spot 3 Draugur (LUK 30)
From the mists emerge the shape of flowing black shadows. Even though they enter the red light of the Blood Moon, you can only see black shadows in the shape of a large bird.. if a bird drooped and rustled like a cloak in the wind. It's the Draugur! You remember the rumors of how they are the spirits of the angry dead who possess the carrion birds that flock to battle fields...
Go to Encounter!
or you may flee, Go to Flee.

[Well in this adventure Madryn LUK is 1 and Nuivian's is 5 so we spot 4 Dunkels] The constant squish of his feet in the mire and much only sent chills up his spine, not to mention started to numb his feet. He just had to keep focused and that pale tree. That's all that mattered. Get to the tree and then follow the path. Get to the tree...and follow the...path. Stopping short as the tree seemed to suddenly loom above him he looked up at it and then around. There was suppose to be a a statue...or something. Licking his lips in nervousness he looked back to his comrade. "There is suppose to be a statue..." He commented dryly and it took him a moment to notice the pile of rocks, though he was a bit distracted. It felt like something had been watching them...following him. Madryn had tried to convince himself that it was just his nerves being hyper aware since he was rather nervous about being here. There was a shrill shriek from behind and it caused the poor boy to jump several inches into the air. Half turning his eyes wide as several medium sized creatures were flapping in their direction. "Watch out!" Madryn chooses: Go to Encounter!
