Hated Food: Anything with heavy spices, oily foods, and mayonnaise. ("Who would eat that??")

School: Destiny City University (Second semester drop out) (Though he frequently loiters *coughtrespassescough* to visit friends.)

Hobbies:

Swimming - It's not something he does competitively or anything, though he most likely could have done well on DCU's swim team, but it's one of his favorite ways to stay in shape since he doesn't end up drenched in sweat. He won’t step foot in the ocean however and is wary of most freshwater, there’s just something about swimming near animals he can’t see that bothers him. The majority of his friends are too busy with school or work to join him but he can drag one off once in a while. He prefers to swim at night at the indoor pool his apartment complex has, it's usually the only time it isn't filled with screaming kids or old people.

Gymnastics - Originally just a way for his parents to get rid of them while they worked, now the gym is basically a second home to him. He even tried out being a part time instructor when he left school but found he much preferred working out on the equipment himself rather than teaching others to. He’ll usually go two or three times a week and hang around the majority of the evening. It really is murder on the joints though, the likelihood of him still being at it in ten years time is very low.

Virtues:

Persistent -- Varik knows what he wants and he won’t stop until he gets it. It’s hard to change his mind about something he has decided on doing and not much discourages him. If he had applied himself in school he may have graduated with honors but his attention lies elsewhere.

Confident -- Even when it seems impossible Varik is always sure he can get ahead no matter what obstacles there are. It takes a lot to intimidate someone like him and it takes a very.. eh.. special sort of person to get him to back down completely from something he's set out to do. He's always been very independent but that doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate being around people with his same goals.

Optimistic -- Everything is going to go his way, or so he thinks, and even when it doesn't he always believes there's a way out of the hole he's dug himself. It takes quite a bit to rain on Varik's parade, he seems to disregard everything negative that comes his way. Maybe a hurricane will get his attention. (Don't count on it.)

Flaws:

Hedonistic -- Most of what he does is definitely fueled by the pursuit of pleasure of some kind. Even with his addictive personality he has somehow avoided most destructive behavior but unfortunately he’ll try just about anything at least once if he thinks that it’ll feel nice.

Reckless -- He’s confident to the point of being stupid and he won’t learn anything at all unless it’s done the hard way. He was the kid who knocked out his teeth in elementary school jumping from the swings and now he’s the teenager who thinks he can pick a fight with the captain of the weight lifting team and win. He often acts as if he's equal to his superiors, in some cases even above them, which tends to get him in more trouble than he'd like to admit.

Insatiable -- Nearly. This would probably be greed if it wasn't for him being very selective of what he focuses his attention on. When he finds something he enjoys it's difficult to get him to give it up. He's definitely the type to marathon an entire season of something from start to finish without sleep.

Eyes: Blueish green.

Hair: Auburn, waist length with a tapered fringe on the right side.

Face: Natural light tan skin. Oval face shape.

Clothes: Loves distressed, comfortable clothing.

ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:

His Confident virtue reads more like a flaw to me! I'd focus more on his issues with authority in the Reckless flaw, and use Confident to cover the good side of it~ How he's always sure he can conquer any obstacle, doesn't let himself get intimidated, et cetera~

ON THE POWERED SIDE:

First, fistbump for kusarigamas, that's my boy's General weapon too~ (Nega weapons can repeat as long as the progression isn't identical, so that's not a problem or anything, don't worry!)

However! While I think a mild numbing effect would be alright, 5-10 minutes is actually a really long time given we consider battles on average to last about 5 minutes~ So something more along the lines of 20-35 seconds would be more appropriate, especially given that a kusarigama is a pretty dangerous weapon if used right!

Any kind of magic would be tied to his weapon, since he's an Officer! So it would be the strike of his kusarigama that leaves a numbing effect behind~

The only other thing that would need changing is that it should be a set number of seconds that the effect lasts for! Other than that he looks great to me~
