You were sent here on a mission to find a missing Meister who disappeared during the destruction of Death City. He was presumed dead, but a few days ago his soul resonance was sensed coming from this area. The DWMA will need everyone they can get in order to retake Death City, which is why you were asked to find him and bring him back alive. As you reach the area, you find a strange looking gate with a strange set of symbols carved above it:

Although you passed through both a forest and a meadow to get here, there is no life around the gate. There is no grass or trees; the land lies fallow and barren. There are no animals or birds chirping. The silence is uneasy and unnatural. The gate gives off an ominous presence, but the Meister's soul resonance can be sensed coming from somewhere on the other side of it. The gate is unlocked and stands ready to open. But something about it causes the hairs on the back of your neck to rise. The sky above you is dark and stormy, but no rain comes nor lightening or thunder. Whatever this place is, it's cursed. You'd prefer to be in and out of here as soon as possible. There's something wrong with it.

As Lily pushed on the gate, it creaked open. It was heavy but not overwhelmingly so. Inside was a long corridor with dim fluorescent lights placed in the ceilings. The corridor was made out of solid metal and seemed to go on forever. There was no option but to go forward.

Once Lily began to run down the corridor, the gate slammed shut behind her. The corridor abruptly ended, strangely coming out into the middle of a courtyard before a dark, run down looking building. If Lily looked behind her, she would see that somehow the corridor had disappeared into thin air. The way she had come in was no longer accessible. The building was large and just as ominous as the gate had been. The clouds above Lily seemed to roll by faster than was natural. If Lily tried the door, she would see that it was unlocked.

When Lily opened the door, she would be greeted to a long corridor full of doors on either side. Just before the corridor, in between it and Lily, was a metal detector that she would need to walk through in order to proceed. It looked old and defunct, but it was obviously still working by the tiny red light blinking at the top. There was a place to put items though Lily didn't have any that needed to go through. Although there was a small station for an officer or warden to sit at, the small chair was empty and the monitors were blank. The metal detector and station were covered with dust as if they hadn't been used in decades. Fluorescent lighting, similar to the lighting Lily had seen in the long corridor, lit the area. The asylum itself seemed dead silent, at least from where Lily was standing. One would be able to hear a pin drop from the other side of the room and Lily's footsteps would make a loud, echoing sound whenever she walked.

However, scribbled on the metal detector in what appeared to be black marker were the words:

SALUA TEIPSUM AB INFERNUS

The metal detector stayed silent as Lily walked through it. When she reached the door on the other side and tried it, it held fast. It was clearly locked with a sturdy lock. Just then, the sound of singing could be heard coming from the opposite corridor. The words were impossible to make out, and the sound echoed throughout the asylum. It was a male, though more than that was impossible to tell.

All Lily followed the singing, she would be led to one of the many asylum doors. This one was shut as well, though it was unlocked. The singing was clearly coming from inside. Even though Lily was much closer, the words still seemed incoherent and impossible to make out.

Once Lily opened the door, she would see a man standing in the middle of a cell just like one might find in an insane asylum. He was wrapped in a black straightjacket and his one good eye was looking straight up at the ceiling. No sooner had she opened the door than he stopped singing and turned his back to her, facing the wall. "remocwen A," he said dully, still facing the wall. "?steug A ?tneitap A ?etamoor a eb ehs lliW !won su lleT" He continued staring at the wall, though he appeared to be waiting for an answer from Lily.
