 Get out of my way.
Derrin, The Thunder Storm Just leave me alone ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derrin left Eyris without any fanfare, leaving behind any farewells as well. The road to Pentheus was going to be a long one he expected considering he was on foot. He'd planned the journey well though, a few stops at inns inbetween days spent walking or sleeping under the stars (well off the beaten path to avoid any opportunistic highwaymen) despite that though Derrin couldn't help but feel a sense of longing.
It was his first time traveling on his own again in... longer then he could remember. Jaren had been following at his heels it felt now forever, and when Jaren had vanished Blossom had filled the void. He rubbed his forehead again when he thought about the sorry excuse for a goodbye he'd given her. That had been real smooth, yell at her about how her dead husband was scum while standing almost on top of said husbands grave... and then before that had been the events of Valentines day.
Derrin angrily huffed, hitching his pack up on his shoulder, dark brown eyes scanning the road ahead. It was his own damn fault he was alone on Valentines day and it was his own damn fault he was alone now. He didn't need someone walking down the road with him anyways, the trek would be good for some thoughts, clear the air in his head.
He walked for a few kilometers thinking about a way to tweak the new magic he'd been trying to weaponize before the usual thoughts set in.
"Why did you say those horrible things to her?"
"Because they were true."
"That doesn't make it right... did you see her face... she was about ready to cry."
"That was as much Abel's fault as mine. He provoked me."
"So? Your actions are still your own arn't they? I didn't know Abel controlled your mouth."
"..."
"Nothing to that? Gods I'm useless."
"I said what I said, it's too late to change it now..."
"Would you though?"
"No... everything I said was true and right..."
"You shouldn't have said it though."
"Well I did. Damnit I did."
"You really are an a*****e you know that right? She was too good for you anyways, you've only let her down at every turn. Remember when you attacked her? Don't even try to say it was for her own good, you were being selfish and stupid."
"..."
"Of course it's not the first time you've done something horrible... why are you like this? Why is it that you do these things"
"Because... I get angry"
"But WHY do you get so angry, what do you have to be angry about? You had it pretty nice back there until you ******** it all up again, the same way you do every time. Everyone else can keep their temper under control, why can't you? Whats wrong with you? You weren't born this way, when Caden was alive..."
"..."
The walk was long. On the way Derrin remembered.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please... To bend is weak!, To fall is cowardly!, To break is UNFORGIVABLE!

Humph,
Victen, The Severing Axe Move ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Victen Hasstorn closed the bedchambers door behind him, the scowl that he would pass on to his son carved into his stone-like face. The large man had been expecting this day for nearly nine months now and still he was finding it more harrowing then any battle he had ever taken part in.
A large figure stepped out of the shadows, "Brother," it rumbled. "I don't think I've seen you look this angry since Father was bleeding out from that lance wound,"
"Shut up, Wellen," the red haired man said to his twin, reaching up to massage the bridge of his nose. "You have no idea how I feel right now, nor being a Spook will you ever,"
"A shot at my castration? You are in a mood. Here I thought the birth of your first born was a momentous occasion,"
"Births, Wellen. Plural. You know as well as I do that every Hasstorn dating back as far as our records have had their first born be two male twins. With the racket Gysella is making in there I think we can expect the tradition to continue,"
"If the birth is going so difficult, shouldn't her dear husband be in there with her?"
Victen snorted at his twin, "Gysella isn't your standard wife. She's like enough to rip off my manhood and blame it for the pain she's going through right now,"
The Spook laughed, "Then we would look alike in yet another way!"
Victen spared his brother a rare grin, the statement was true, Lord Hasstorn of Frelia looked exactly like his Spymaster. Both were large muscular men with cropped red hair and sharp features, the differences were few, the handsome face Victen shared with his brother was scarred from many battles and wore a constant furrowed brow and scowl his red hair starting to grey, where as Wellen was always ready with a fast smile and his hair was still as red as the day they had been born. The difference was also in their life style, Victen being the elder brother by three seconds, had inherited their fathers title and his responsibilities at a young age. Wellen however had no such responsibilities and had chosen life as an assassin and spy in his brothers employ, one requirement of the younger twin entering service was his castration to ensure that there would be no disputes regarding inheritance, a condition that had been set by Victen himself.
He smiled at his dour elder brother again. "Have you thought of names for the boys then yet?"
Victen grunted, "The Elder will be named Derrin, the younger will be named Caden after our departed father,"
Wellen nodded, "Both good strong names for a man to grow up with. I look foreword to see what paths in life they shall walk"
Lord Hasstorn scowled, "You'll be staying far away from them Wellen, I intend for them to grow up strong and honourable, I wont have you corrupting them into a Spooks way of life,"
To his credit the assassin laughed, "Don't worry Brother, if I must watch I'll do it from a far, you've spared me the trouble of having children of my own I have no interest in yours!"
Victen's eyes narrowed and he opened his mouth to say something before being cut off by the door slamming open and the elderly midwife rushing outside it, nearly colliding with Lord Hasstorn before stopping out of breath.
Reflexively Victen's hand strayed to his hip, not finding the comforting weight of his axe there he was forced to find his voice instead. "What is it? Is Gysella alright?"
"Looks like someone was worried after all" Wellen teased, earning himself a sharp look from Victen.
"N-No milord! Lady Hasstorn is perfectly fine! The birth was successful! A pair of healthy twins th---"
"Both boys. I know woman, you birthed myself your mother birthed both my father and grandfather, you know of our legacy as well as I. So why do you rush from the cham---"
"Th-Thats just it milord! The firstborn wasn't a boy! It was a girl!"
Lord Hasstorn, glared at the midwife before rudely shoving her aside and storming into the birthing room to see for himself.
Wellen simply whistled lowly, "Well... errr..." He glanced at the midwife, "We uhhh, should probably get out of here... he's about to throw a tantrum...."
From the bedchamber came an angry roar, "A GIRL?!"
"Ah, yes, there we are! Come then midwife, I know a lovely place we can hide out and have a drink while this all blows over...."---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The things I've done... Fool, you know nothing. Violence will have to be your TEACHER
