The sun was lightening the horizon up when Grrel emerged from her lair. Shaking the sleep out of her body, she stretched her wings towards the sky. Today was a lovely day to fight she thought with a grin. I’ve honed my skills now to go out and test myself! She was, for the most part, back on Eowyn in her comfy cave. Serenia had been nice, but she’d gotten tired of seeing Magescians everywhere. Over the past few months they’d begun to irritate her. Why were they so smug and safe when her people lived in hiding and always worrying over egg thieves? It didn’t seem right and Grrel was disgusted with them. So she’d left the forests of Serenia with their stupid Orderites and boorish Ysali dragons to return to her hot and dry homeland. Back in her clan Grrel found herself much more happy and content. Her curiosity towards Magescians had dimmed, she no longer wished to know more about them. Instead, she would strive to make the world a better place for her clan and Drakeins as a whole. Much as she liked Kadryn and being fed, Grrel was now ready to turn her back on all Magescians and concentrate on her people. Maybe she’d figure out a way to break the Bonds too! Or discovery a way to insure that the bond could never happen! She grinned as she flapped her wings and took to the cool dawn sky. A Drakeinian. If I become a Drakeinian, I bet I’ll be strong enough to take on Magescians and figure a way to destroy that stupid bond! To do that though, she had to strengthen her mind and body, for the Ritual was not something to be attempted lightly. Drakeins died during it. So Grrel was headed out now to accomplish three things: test her strength, practice her magic, and get Kiandri Orbs. She’d heard that the more orbs of your clan that you go, the better the ritual would go. So her quest to gather up lots of Kiadnri orbs had begun! I can always go and fight other types of dragons later... plus, if I fight Kinadri’s near here, I’ll drive them away from the clan, which means we’ll be safer! Grrel now thought along the lines of, what is best for me, my clan, and my people. It was a switch she’d noticed Toki approved of... even if he didn’t like that she hated the bondeds so much. She snorted as she flew through the air towards a lair she knew Kiandri Dragons used. I don’t hate bondeds, I hate the Bond! There’s a difference... plus it’s better to be hurt or dead then enslaved and reduced to a stupid pet like the bondeds are…. She growled to herself as she came into sight of her goal. Now my moods ruined! I’ll just take it out on those Dragons!

She hovered above the Kiandri’s and took stock of the rock filled ravine below her. They are resistant to my power… so I’ll just use my magic to attack the surrounding and hurt them that way! Toki says to think and plan your fight out, to always leave an escape route… Good advice, one I wished I’d listened too earlier in my other fights, she thought with a smile, as she carefully gathered up her power into a huge bolt of thundering flashing light. She released the power with a throwing motion, aiming at the huge outcrop of rock above one of the slumbering Dragons. As it shattered the morning silence, Grrel swooped in from the opposite side, speedily charging in at the surprised Dragons. There were three of them, but she felt that if she killed at least one, she’d have learned something! I must challenge myself more and more, that is the only way to grow stronger! She bite down hard on the target’s wing, tearing the soft membrane and muscles. This one wouldn’t be able to chase her should the battle go sour, she thought with a smirk, her bloody teeth flashing in the light that began to shine over the horizon. Then she had no more time for thought, it was battle! She fought against the two remaining living dragons. Her bolt had done its job; the falling rocks it’d shattered had killed the other dragon.
Grrel twined speedily between the lashing limbs of the bigger dragons. Using her placement to trip and slow them as well as use them for shields. The dragons used their powers wildly, not conserving it in the slightest, while Grrel did her best to use hers sparingly; in small abut useful ways that helped her gain an advantage. She’d taken Toki’s words to heart: no longer did she rashly use her magic in explosive burst. Instead she used it smartly, saving power so that if she needed it, it’d be there. She felt she was winning, and had a chance at multiple orbs, when she made a wrong move. She dodged straight into a lashing tail and bot of power. Hurt and slightly dazed, she saw both dragons rounding on her, snarling as they charged in. Grabbing her single orb in her jaw, Grrel dashed between them and leaped into the sky, flying fast despite her dazed state.
She flew away from her clan until she was certain that the one dragon who could fly had given up. Then she turned back for home, hurting, but not too badly and triumphant over her Kiandri orb. Each fight is a chance to test myself and learn. Each loss is a win in experience. She thought to herself. I have learned, and that is enough for now. Later, I will only accept wins, but for now? I will learn.
