Oh, how Bastet was enjoying her new form! It was SO much easier to scam people out of their valuables not that she looked like an innocent little kid. And adults were far more likely to believe her as well. Take her present state for example. She was inside one of the swankiest hotels and was about to enter the room of the Gaia-renowned Kitty Kat twins. She'd told one of the bellhops that she'd lost her mummy and daddy while they'd gone shopping. They'd been staying at the hotel, thus she returned to wait. It took a little convincing and some crocodile tears for the bellhop to let her go to the proper floor (which she'd over heard while the twins had exited the building). But, now, here she was!

She looked down the hall, making sure no one was around before moving in on the lock. Claws out, she picked at it a bit. It took little effort before there was a click and the door gently opened to her turning the knob and pushing in. She grinned deviously as she quietly entered and shut the door behind her. This was all too easy.

The room was vast and ornamented with all sorts of lavish decor. It made Bast sick looking at it all. "So gaudy." she mouthed with taking a few steps. None of this rubbish would sell for much. She needed to find the twins' clothes and jewelry. That's where the money was, so to speak.

A quick look around and she found what she was looking for, the two extravagantly furnished bedrooms. The problem was, one was on each side of the suite. She stood in the center, arms crossed, glancing from one room to the other. "Guess there's only one good way t' settle this." she said quietly. "Eeny, Meany, Miney, Moe..." She pointed, alternating between the rooms. "..Catch a Liepard by his toe. If he hollers, make him pay. $50 e'ry day! My mother told me to pick the very best one and you are not it!" She stopped and immediately went to the opposite one she'd pointed to last.

Entering the room, she went straight for the jewelry boxes that were left on the vanity top. She put as many rings as she could on her fingers and necklaces around her neck, placing the rest in small bag she kept on her tied around her waist, under her dress. No one looked there. Why would they? Perverts. The next thing she raided was the closet. She grabbed all the outfits she could and threw them on the bed haphazardly. Taking up one of the dresses, she looked act it. How was she going to ferret these out?

Think fast! Think fast! Bast's mind was racing. She stood there for a few moments, surprise on her face. How had she not heard them come in?! CRY! And with that, alligator tears began streaming down her cheeks. She blubbered incoherently and sank to the ground, dropping whatever she had. "I'm... so... so-so-sorryyyyyyyyy!!!" She choked between fake sobs. "I-I-I... jus'... wanted... to... be.... p-p-p-pretty... like you-hoo-hoo-hooooooooo!!!" She was trying to come up with a reason why she'd be in their room, but was failing at the moment. She hoped it'd come to her quickly, as that was most likely their next question.

"Th-thank-k y-you." Bast took the tissues and wiped up her fake tears and blew her nose. All the while, she was devising a reason for being in their room, other than the truth, of course.

After a few moments of "calming down," clinging to the tissues for added effect, she thought of a decent enough lie. "M-my parents are staying here and I got lost and so I tried to go back to the room and the man was nice and let me in but I guess I got the room number wrong." The whole thing was said very quickly. "Then I saw your stuff and thought it was so pretty and my mom lets me play dress up with her stuff, so I thought it'd be okay." The Meowth girl sniffled. "I was gonna put it all back, pwomise!" And with that she gave Kitty the biggest doe eyes she could muster, trying to look as if she was about to burst into tears again.

"Weally?!" A giant smile burst forth from the little girl, "Ya mean it? Oh, you two are nice an' pwetty!" She clapped her hands and bounced a little. In truth, the whole "sweet, innocent child" act was beginning to make her feel nauseous. She had to think of a way to get out of the room with what little she'd stolen. Better something than nothing at all, she told herself.

"My name's Bonnie," she lied as she stood up, careful not to rip any of the dresses around... or scuff up the shoes... or give away her hiding pouches under her dress. She straightened her dress and looked at the twins, twinkles in her eyes. "An' you're the Kitty Kat twins, aren'tcha? I've seen your pictures everywhere! You're famous!" She threw her hands out wide, trying to show just how famous they were. Flattery seemed to work on one twin, and innocence on the other. She'd have to keep up the act until she figured a way out.

Bast managed the most horribly stereotypical excited little girl squeal when they both gave her an autograph. "My goodness! Thank you!" She clutched it to her chest, though careful not to wrinkle it. This could fetch a few bucks to an adoring fan, she was sure, best to keep it as nice as possible.

"I'mma put this right here, so I don' ruin it!" She cheerfully remarked as she placed it on a nearby table. "I don' want to get food on it! Food that you're so uber duber nice enough to give me!" She swiveled on her heels, her hands clasped behind her back, trying to keep up the cute kid act as much as possible. "When I get back to momma an' daddy I'mma tell them how nice you are!" And a thought came to mind. "Daddy runs a newspaper out of town, I bet he'd do a real big write up about how nice you ladies are if I begged him!" She giggled and held up her pinkie. "I've got wrapped aroun' my finger."

The offered food was almost pounced upon. The Meowth girl hadn't realized how hungry she was until she caught the scent of the elegantly prepared foods.

Bast stuffed her face as the two older girls talked, but her inherent distrust of others made her think they were starting to catch on. Her escape needed to come much sooner, rather than later. She had a decent haul, not as much as she would have liked or hoped, but it was far better than nothing.

Her eyes darted around the room, trying to find the best exit. There was the door to the room, from the hallway, but that was out of the question at this point. There would be too many employees she'd have to try to evade and she didn't like her chances that way. There was the balcony, though. She was pretty sure she saw a window cleaning crew outside earlier. That might her best bet... if the twins did think she was up to something. Best to test her theory.

She finished all she dared, considering she'd most likely have to bolt in a moment, and cleared her throat. "Thank you two so much, I would weally like to stay, but I saw da clock and I should probably head down to the lobby. I'm sure my daddy'll be down there any minute." She straightened her dress again and went to the table where she'd placed the autograph. Picking it up, she carefully tucked it in the waist band of her dress and then headed towards the main door. "Thank you both so much! I hope my daddy will do a weally nice piece on you!"

"Oh, no, dat's okay," Bast voice almost trembled as she gave her reply to Kat. This was the sister she'd heard had the temper... she thought. Either way, best not to risk it. She breathed a sigh of relief when the phone rang. "You two are weally busy by the sounds of it, anyway. I can get myself down there. Thank you though! You both were so nice!"

She gave a short wave and headed out the door, closing it behind her. She took a few steps at a brisk walk until she was sure she was out of earshot of the room, then bolted down the hallway to the stairwell. The elevator would be far too slow and there was a greater chance of her being caught if she went that way.

Pushing the door to the stairway open with all her might, she flung herself through and flew down the stairs, taking two or three at a time. Thank goodness for her cat-like grace and reflexes, this would've been dangerous otherwise.
