Step 1: Capture Win: 50-100 (-5 for Drakeins, -10 for Vlidean demerit, +15 for trying to capture this creature three times before) 50-100 Rolled: 71 Outcome: Success! Words: 328
Sam had flown home after his last failed attempt. Luckily, it wasn't that long a flight. Still, he decided to take that time to regroup and think of a new plan. Simply diving in wouldn't work for these alert creatures! It was times like these he wished he had a more paralyzing form of magic... Like electricity, or ice! But he didn't. Surely, his own abilities weren't useless, though. There had to be something he could do! The brown Drakein spent the night in his lair, mulling it over. He was pretty sure the stinging of the scratches and pecks the animals had caused him were muddling his thoughts, because came up with a hair-brained scheme that he quite frankly couldn't find any fault with, but it was just so simple! Only the morrow could tell.
Needless to say, he didn't sleep well. His excitement for his ideas kept him up much longer than it should have, but Sam could just hardly contain himself. His idea was just that good. As soon as the sun peaked across the horizon, Sam was off to find that huge colony he'd disrupted yesterday. No other flock would do! Feeling brazen, he decided to take the land route and strolled haphazardly into Vlidean territory. he was no where near as stealthy with this endeavor, and the bright birds spotted him immediately. He was pretty sure that even they were confused, though that didn't stop them from charging at him full speed!
Sam waited until the majority of them were on his level. Summoning all the power he could muster, he commanded great pointed rocks to bolt from the ground in a conical shape, encircling the Vlidean clan and locking them in. he created multiple of these great shapes to hold the whole of the pack, though they certainly weren't happy about it. Feeling pleased, Sam strolled to a nest and carefully plucked an egg up between his jaws, sauntering away in satisfaction.

Step 2: Taming Win: 50-100 (-5 for Drakeins, -10 for Vlidean demerit, +15 for trying to capture this creature three times before) 50-100 Rolled: 22 Outcome: Loss Words: 176 Total between two prompts: 504
Unfortunately, his satisfaction didn't last long. Sam had hardly fluttered off the earth before he became too dizzy to fly and hit the ground again, staggering. Well, it had been quite a bit of magic... A little more than he was used to using, for sure. And the lack of a proper night's sleep hadn't done him any favors... He'd have to walk. Flying was too risky. Even a Gaili Drakein could be seriously injured from a long fall, and it just wasn't worth the risk to Sam. So, he trudged along on his paws; wings and tail dragging and his head lowered.
Not long after, a screech in the distance caught his attention. He couldn't see the noisemaker, but he had a sinking feeling it was coming for him. Deciding to cut his losses, Sam tucked the egg against a warm, sheltered rock. Maybe if the Vlidean parents found it, they wouldn't come after him. Maybe, hopefully. He tucked a few grass blades around it then hurried along, having no desire to fight more Vlidean.
