With all the excitement going on back at home Takoda felt the need to go visit his own home once more. His tree house on the edge of Jahaur was being neglected and though he loved Jacinthus a lot, sometimes it was nice to get away and just get some peace and quiet. After all it wasn't like he just lived his his lover and mate, but his sister and her two boys. Seeing the boy's father often had mixed feelings for Takoda but he tried not to let it bother him.
Packing a satchel he decided rather than go straight home but to visit one of the shifter villages first perhaps Ast as it had been a very long time since he had been there. Upon entering the village he expected to be ridiculed and perhaps shunned due to the fact he had fallen in love with a Leaf tribe man and moved away from the forest, but either no one recognized him or they didn't care he was left primarily alone. Looking at one of the stands that had fresh fish for sale he examined them politely before turning away. Fruit was more his style...though he ate the occasional fish he was mostly a vegetarian.

Sauron was humming as he plucked at a few interesting fruit which the keeper swore were edible even though they looked like fancy ornaments to him. He smiled at the newcomer who he hadn't seen around before. "Two please," he said to the shopkeeper. "One for me and one for the new face." He held out one of the odd shaped fruit after paying the shopkeeper. "Have you tried one of these before? My mother says to try new things but I would feel braver with assistance."

Takoda gave a bit of a start, he hadn't expected to be addressed and the new voice startled him. Dropping a scroll that looked interesting back to the pile before he turned his head to look over at the young man who had addressed him. At least...he was pretty sure he was the one being addressed. Pointing to himself he quickly fixed up the messed up pile he made at the stall before turning fully to Sauron.
"W...were you..sp..speaking to me?" The shifter inquired with a slight stammer, he felt a bit embarrassed as he was a monk and he shouldn't be so nervous meeting new people. Politely he looked to the fruit the man had just acquired before giving a small smile. "Ah...if you want to share that is very generous of you." Takoda continued as he shifted, moving the satchel he always seemed to have with him around to his side.

Sauron blinked. Quite jumpy this fellow. Sauron smiled. "Yes I was talking to you." He handed the fruit over. "Welcome to Ast. Nice satchel, fine worksmanship. Do you need a place to stay for the night?"
Sauron tossed his fruit from hand to hand humming, wishing he was a better juggler but failed to see the point of putting all the practice in for that. He took a bite of the fruit and was hit with an explosion of flavour. Promptly he bought a few more of the fruit. "Was not expecting the flavour at all go ahead, try it."

Finding the fruit placed in his hand he looked down at it a moment before offering the man a small smile. Lifting the fruit he bit into it and then gave a small happy sound. The fruit was perfectly ripe and tasted wonderful. Swallowing he paused before taking another bite realizing that he should probably decline the man's offer.
"Oh, thank you. It was my mothers. And No..I only planned to visit today I have..been living in Tale lately and I missed Jahaur. Do you live in this village?" He inquired realizing a be belatedly that he never offered his name to the stranger.
"My name is Takoda...yours?"

"Really? What is Tale like?" Sauron asked interestedly. "Yes I live over yonder, its a cozy hut and I adore it. I also spend most of my spare time in the jungle observing, learning, occasionally saving peoples butts, and getting mine into sticky problems. But that is where all the moss and fungi are that have healing capabilities. Its all rather fascinating. How they came to have those properties to heal completely different organisms I don't know." He held out a non sticky hand, "My name is Sauron."

Takoda gave a small smile listening to Sauron go on discussing one of his favorite subjects which was herbalism. Truth be told he wasn't exactly sure why plants could heal the sick of other creatures...but he wasn't about to complain about them being able to do so. His head tilted down slightly at the outstretched hand as if he wasn't entirely sure what to do with it. Then after a slight moment of hesitation he reached out to clasp it. "It is a pleasure to meet someone who is curious about the healing qualities of the plants in this forest. I have traveled many places and tried to learn about the plants in Sauti and Zena...although they have little in the way of vegetation like we do here." The monk commented as he gave a small half shrug before he withdrew his hand and went to nibble on the fruit. "If you are ever interested I would love to have someone to discuss their findings on different herbs."

"That sounds wonderful, tell me do you know how to set bones as well? I am a fair hand at herbs and mushrooms but I'm afraid if the problems are skeletal then I am less then useful. Bleeding is not so bad to stop but for setting a bone properly I need guidance."
It was one of Sauron's biggest goals to be able to set bones properly, he may not be going into the healing arts but it was still a big part of his families culture.

Takoda gave the man a small smile and nodded his head slightly. "I see you are eager to learn about healing as well? That makes me really happy to see, I have taught myself quite a bit living alone for so many years, but my mother was an accomplished healer before she passed away. So I have many of her notes to reference. My home isn't really close by...but we could travel there and perhaps we could go over them? We can also pick up some herbs and plants on the way back ...my stores are getting rather depleted since I started living with my mate in Tale." He commented hoping that Sauron wouldn't be offended that he was dating someone outside of their people. Taking another bite he gestured in the direction they would need to head. "My home is on the outskirts of the forest ...if you are willing to travel that far."

"I have never been that far into the forest, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to see the notes your mother made on healing. Ah you have also touched on one of my passions, collecting things. I may have some in store already if you are interested. The dried stuff will last but we will have to collect some of the fresh stuff that dislikes the drying process."
He smiled at the other. Crazily excited about the trip. And not minding one whiff about the others mate preferences, love was love and that was that. One couldn't change who one fell in love with and why would one want to?

It was nice to make a new friend, since moving to Tale he found it hard to make new acquaintances due to the awkwardness being his heritage. He was a shifter living in a leaf tribe after all. Smiling he took another bite of h is fruit savoring the last few bites before tucking the pit away in his bag. Lifting a hand to brush the hair away from his face he nodded and then waved in the direction they had to go.
"We best hurry, I don't want to be out too long." Takoda explained as he honestly wasn't up for traveling past dark. It would make his mate worry if he was out too long with no word. "Will be faster to travel up in the trees, but we won't find as many herbs there...so its up to you. Travel on the ground? Or in the trees?" The male inquired as he was already plotting the best route to his parents home either way they decided to go.

"There are actually some less known herbs up in the trees and it would be much safer and faster you are right so I vote for trees. Just let me grab my travel bag, its always packed." He ran to his house and snatched it up, unable to wipe the giant grin off his face. He raced back to Takoda and bounced on the balls of his feet. "I'm ready, time to race the sun."

Chuckling Takoda nodded his head, yes there were some rarer herbs in the trees so it would be nice to be able to see if they could find any on the way back to his place. He waited patiently though Sauron didn't take very long to go grab his things. Giving a small laugh he nodded his head and then turned int he direction they would need to head in. "Alright this way!" Takoda explained cheerfully as they began their journey to his home. Traveling through the trees was a fast way to travel and in no time at all it felt like his home was quite close. Slowing down to take a small breather he couldn't help but chuckle as he looked around. Raising his hand to point at the house that was near the edge of the forest. "There it is, if we take a look around here I am sure we could find some herbs to bring back and dry."

Sauron thunked onto a branch behind Takoda and tilted his head at the house that he had thought would be much further away, then again, usually Sauron was distracted in travel by this plant or that and rarely traveled with others. At Takoda's idea, Sauron climbed higher in the canopy and began inspecting odd nooks and crannies for interesting plants and the common healing ones. He found one of his favorites a frilly purple tinted one that could bring down fever if dosed right but was rather nasty, even deadly if the dose was too high. There was a rather large patch of it so he selected some of the leaves for harvest. He hopped to the next branch of an adjacent tree and found some of the bright lime green plants that when chewed and placed on wounds would help prevent infection. The trees in this area were stuffed full of interesting plants, it seemed that Takoda had indeed not been harvesting for a while. The canopy looked a little less dense here too, maybe the plants were prolifering themselves in the presence of an overabundance of sunshine. A short while later he headed toward the house with a fresh hoard of medicinal plants. He smiled broadly, it was always a joy to gather plants, he didn't quite know why he liked it so much, but it never failed to enhance a good mood. "Well Takoda, my arms are full, I think between the two of us your stores will be replenished in no time."

The older man watched as Sauron moved about eagerly collecting samples from the canopy. There was something refreshing about having someone with the same eagerness about herbal medicine. Sure he used his magic to heal, but it was nice to have the knowledge of plants and what they were able to do. After all..there had been that one illness his magic was not able to heal.
It still troubled him, that. Recalling his deadly adventure to the Alkidike island and how his life had been very threatened there. You'd think that he wouldn't have a high opinion of the warrior women after that incident, but he knew that he was the one trespassing on their homeland. The healer had been aware of their temperament about strangers...he knew the risks, but he was certainly glad that Jerarda woman and her companion had taken him there.
Taking a moment to linger in his thoughts he dropped to the ground, and went about gathering items from the forest floor to expand the collection. The little glowing mushrooms, also good for fevers but could be addicting. They were plentiful and he liked making sure he had a lot of them on hand. Keeping tabs on Sauron he placed the herbs into his satchel and prepared to climb the tree once again.
It felt a bit bizarre being back at his Jahaur home, it had been awhile and he was mildly worried that it would of been ransacked by people or animals. His hand came out and he pushed the door open.
"I apologize for the state of my home, I live in Tale primarily right now, so its been awhile..." He trailed off, feeling the back of his hairs prickle as something fluttered past in the corner of his eyes. The poor man was still rather unnerved by bugs at large, even though he had an idea what it was he saw ...it still made him feel a bit nervous.
