The Downtown area of the city. Full of apartment buildings and stores among other things. Dark alleys and partially run down buildings can hide many dangers both mundane or otherwise.

Amanda walked quietly down the street looking for any signs of trouble. Her gun and badge hung visibly on her hip as she walked. Faded blue jeans, a beat up old black t-shirt, and jacket made up her apparel that night. Her hands were in her pockets as she pasted a few beggars and homeless. If they weren't careful they would find themselves as food. The slight chill in the air forced her to turn her collar up to try and keep out some of the cool night air.
From the corner of her eye she saw something darting down an ally way. Amanda slowly drew her gun as she started down to investigate. Strands of long black hair fell down around her eyes as she looked about. As first there seemed to be nothing out of place, then she spotted it. A body laying behind a dumpster. From the looks of things he must have been a homeless person. They were easy targets. She kept her gun in hand as she pulled out her phone and called for backup. Then she called the union to let them know for clean-up. "Looks like tonight will be a good night to hunt after all." she told herself, keeping an eye out for anything coming her way.

It wasn’t long before more police, ambulance, and a few members of the union arrived. Pictures are taken of the scene and the body closely examined. The examination team was made up of hunters trying to play off the homeless man as being some crazed junkie. With back up on the scene Amanda holstered her gun. She moved back to the other side of the alley and leaned against the wall. Pulling out a pack of cigarettes, she lit one up and took a long drag. She couldn’t shake the sinking feeling that this event was going to repeat itself. Propping one foot up against the wall and quickly finishing off her cigarette, she put out her cell phone and made a quick call.
She spoke for a few moments with a serious tone to her voice to someone on the other end. Her free hand ran through her thick black hair a few times before ruffling her bangs and putting the cell phone away. The lead detective came over to speak with hers and the examiner’s report. Sadly all she can report was that she had found the body. Every so often, even with others around, Amanda found herself looking over her shoulders or to the rooftops. Even if there wasn’t anything to see she still had her suspicions that the monster behind this attack was still nearby.
Amanda let out a tired sigh as the scene finally cleared and the noise die down. Finding the body is only going to cause frustration paperwork. With nothing else to, see her do she started back out of the alley.

Heinrich stepped out from the short alleyway that connected the two streets. Leaving behind three unconscious and partially drained muggers. It was too easy really, dress up and walk around the bad neighborhood and the food came right to you. sure it liked to put up a fight but it's not like it was that much of one. wiping his mouth with the dark red handkerchief he carried around he looked up the street to see the police as he tucked it back into his coat pocket. That was not a very good sign. If they found him they'd question him and at worst they'd have him come in for questioning and to testify, far too much of a waste of time for him.
Regardless, his student had done well. He had been instructed to follow the Dragon's Tail, to kill a man and observe the events following his death. But he didn't think it would be done so quick. Walking in the opposite direction he hoped to get away from them before he got involved. One could never be sure about who was hiding among the badges and flashing lights.
Disciplines:

"You'er going to get mugged walking around her looking like that." Amanda said. She had looked behind her just in time to see the well dressed gentleman. Her eyes narrowed as she turned and headed in his direction. Her gun and badge still on her hip in plain view. "where are you headed? I'll walk with you till you'er in a safer place." She added as she kept an eye on him,almost suspecting him. She chuckled as she found herself judging before talking with him. She often jumped the gun at night. "By the way, you didn't see what happened in the ally just a bit ago did ya?" There was a slight hint of humor in her voice as she asked her question. Aanda assumed he would say nothing, but it wouldn't hurt to ask while she had the chance.

Heinrich turned around to look at the woman who had called to him, her badge glaringly obvious. "Mugged? I suppose it's possible, but I've been taking defense classes for years. They can try, but so far they haven't succeeded." She mentioned escorting him to somewhere safe. That was not ideal. He preferred to be a shadow, unseen and alone. But in the worst case he could go to the subway and get away from there. "That's not necessary, I'm quite fine on my own. Besides, don't you have something more pressing over there? I'm sorry but I don't know anything." Heinrich began to read her aura, she was a normal person and her emotions were suitable to the situation. So he began to extend his mind to read her thoughts. She could just be a normal officer, but anyone could know useful secrets. And why not scan the brains of those he came across? Especially when they could do nothing to detect, let alone stop, him from doing so. She was, however, strong and so it might take some time. But it might just be worth it.

On the surface her thoughts were like any other police officer after a crime. Wondering who did it, why they didn't, and if they would be brought to justice. But delving past the surface her thoughts for a bit more twisted. Accusing monsters that supposedly only exist in horror movies and fairytales. "Defense classes?" She scoffed knowing that defense classes couldn't protect him from some of the things that lurked out there. Amanda tried to keep herself from assuming every person she ran across at night was a monster, but it was hard not to. “Very well, if you’re sure. But I’m going at least walk you to the main street.” She replied with a weary sigh. For once she would like to talk with a stranger without her mind jumping to the worst case scenarios. "At least let me do that much to make sure I’m performing my job. After all if you ended up dead on the morning news due to some random animal attack or mugging I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. So since we are walking do you have a name?” She peered at the stranger from the corner of her eye. Outside of his elaborate dress he seemed perfectly normal and harmless. Still who walked around dressed like that in this neighborhood at night?

This woman knew. She knew of the things that lurked in the darkness, that prowled the night. She was a Hunter. A wondrous, if a bit dangerous, opportunity. But he had to play along, for now at least. She scoffed at his mention of 'self defense' which was only a partial lie. He'd been trained in combat for decades. "Doubting my defense classes? I don't blame you. I don't look like much after all. But I assure you, I can take care of myself. But what animal would attack me? Someone's escaped rabid pet? I don't need an escort, I can't pull you away from a crime scene just for me. But I can give you my name, call me Frank Johnson. And you are?" Heinrich had been through this before, and had everything planned out in advance. It was likely that he would get away without a hitch, less likely that she hindered his plans, and highly unlikely that he'd have to kill her. “I’m Detective Amanda Colton.” She replied as a beeper went off. She pulled a small device out of her back pocket and looked down at the number that displayed on the screen. She rolled her gray eyes she groaned softly. “Well it looks like I don’t have time to debate.” She said as she returned the beeper to the pocket in which came from. If he had snuck a glance all he would’ve seen was the number 35. To most that can be nothing or anything, just a few numbers on the screen. To her it was a call to duty. In her mind she hissed out. Just as one shift with ending another was beginning. But the shift had nothing to do with the police force and everything to do with hunting. The number represented a section of the city in which a vampire was spotted. Already she was getting mentally prepared for the hunt that was to come. “Don’t let me catch you dead on the news.” She said as she pulled a gun and remove clip in it.
Amanda but the nearly full clip of normal bullets into her gun belt. Then she pulled out another clip of bullets that shined bright, even in the dim light of the ally way. They were silver bullets. She shoved the new clip into the gum and made sure a bullet was loaded in the chamber. Since they were close to the street she turned and started off for the far side of downtown on foot. She removed her badge and tucked it away so she couldn’t be easily identified.

Heinrich glimpsed the number on her pager and figured it must be some sort of code given the way she reacted. "Well, it was a pleasure to meet you. And I don't want to catch you on the news either. Dead that is, a hero would be fine." He smiled somewhat awkwardly. Playing perfectly the role of nervous civilian. Noting the bullets in her gun he guessed only one thing. Lupine. Why else would she load what were most likely silver bullets? Receiving a call on his phone, he answered. It was his student, upset by the sound of it. It seemed after he had escaped from his initiation of the Dragon's Tail, some thug threw a bottle at his head for fun, and roused the Beast instead. "Stay calm, head for the House and I'll meet up with you there. Take the scenic route to ease your nerves. Don't worry about the mess, it'll get cleaned up." Speaking cryptically in case of eavesdropping, the message was clear to the initiated. Go back to the Ordo Dracul Chapter House, take a long and complex route to avoid followers, and leave the body behind. The woman, Amanda, was heading in the direction his student was in. He was certain he would be long gone by the time she got there, but the body wouldn't. She would call in a clean up team and pursue any clues. He had to be sure she didn't find any. Obfuscating his presence from the minds of those around him, he began to shadow her. Invisible to the eyes and minds of any that may be near.

Ash was riding his bike on the other side of the city before coming to a stop in front of restraint. He eyed the people coming and going. the people passing him by didn't seem to notice him much or didn't care. But he noticed each one of them. Even the woman in the coat with her collar turned up. He smiled as he parked his motorcycle and started to follow her. He stated a few people behind so she wouldn't notice him. She would make a fine him if he got the chance.

She was in a hurry to fined the spotted vampire. Her hand was on her hustler as she moved through the people. Her hair fanned behind her as she rushed past the man on the motorcycle. She was in such a hurry she didn't even notice him follow her. Amanda turned off down yet another allow and came out at the edge of downtown. There was a small park, a few trees and a jungle gym set with swings. She came to a stop a she pulled her gun and kept it pointed down and close to her body. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end as she started looking for anyone in the park. With it being so late, no one should be there. The park closed at 9 and it was quickly approaching midnight.
Amanda jumped when a small cat jumped from a bush as she walked by. Her heart skipped a beat. Even with her training she was still scared. It was only human to be scared of creatures that could rip you apart with out even trying.

Ash followed her to the park. His smirk grew into a wicked grin. He wasn’t worried about the gun too much. He would just have to make sure she didn’t hit his heat. His silver eyes fixed on her every move as she searched for something. He stayed back and watched with fascination. Could his prey be a hunter he wondered? With a gun in her hands and no badge in sigh she must be. Ash felt his fangs with his tongue as he through how easy it would be to take her now. He could feel the hunger boiling up in the pit of his stomach as his hands balled up into fists. The time to act hadn’t come yet. He had a need to see what she was after first. If he was spotted then it wouldn’t matter. But still.. her scent hung in the night breeze. He growled as he couldn't stand the wait much longer.

Heinrich watched and waited in plain view, and yet unseen by everyone. Having cloaked himself from the minds of others, he was invisible and silent as his clan's nickname, a shadow. Her search had brought her somewhere a fair distance away from where his student had been which made it unlikely for her to be on his trail. A lucky break. However, he was not the only one watching. Another man, Damned like he was by the look of his aura, stalked her. An interesting development. Change was always interesting to observe, no matter how far along the Great Work one was. Deciding not to intervene so that change could be observed, he waited and watched as he so often did. His Beast told him the fellow Kindred was a greater predator, his Beast was stronger and his blood more potent. Heinrich's Beast urged him to run, to escape from this greater monster, but he resisted. He was far from mastering his Beast, but he was far from slave to it. Thanks to his cloak, and his hidden nature, his Beast would not be shown to this man's Beast, and he would remain undetected so long as he drew no attention to himself.
Disciplines:
-Can enhance his senses to razor edges, and with that can see in the dark. Vulnerable to overstimulation when used. -Capable of reading a person's aura to determine emotional state and supernatural type and influence. -Can read psychic imprints on objects and locations left behind by powerful emotion. -Telepathy allows him to read a person's mind and probe it for information, and can even send mental messages. However strong minds can resist the intrusion if they can notice it and line of sight must be kept at all times. -Capable of extending his mind to his target's and sending a sort of mental pulse to cause pain and hindering the target's movement and ability. Can be resisted as Telepathy and causes a drain on his mental powers for a short time.
-Able to hide objects from the minds of others, causing their senses to ignore its existence. Meaning they will not see or feel the object. Certain powers can detect and counter this. Video is not affected and will capture the object regardless. -His very nature as a Vampire is hidden, his aura appearing normal and his Predator's Taint being undetectable. Certain powers can see through this. -Can hide himself from the minds of others, meaning they will not see him, they will hear no sound he makes unintentionally, and they will subconsciously move out of his way. Video cameras are unaffected, but a person viewing through a live feed is. Certain mental powers can detect and penetrate this power. -Able to disguise himself as someone else, but can only affect small groups at most. Certain powers can see through the disguise.
-By combining his mental extension and his disguise, he's capable of creating illusions. These are not real, but if a person believes they are they can cause psychic trauma unless the person knows without doubt they are false. It causes much greater drain on his mental reserves and can leave him drained and vulnerable if he isn't careful. Again, certain powers can see through this, or worse.
-Capable of moving five times faster than normal, but rapidly drains his blood reserves.
-Coils of the Dragon allows him to use his blood more efficiently, to feed from even beasts, and to gain greater sustenance from feedings. He can better control his beast, and has managed to unlock a Coil to reduce the damage from fire, allowing him to heal far more easily.
-Mind of the Dragon, through constant study and strain, he has gained a perfect memory. In addition in the back of his mind he constantly compares the present to the past to guard against mind and memory tampering. Lastly he's able to set part of his mind side, making using his mental powers much harder, to suck in any kind of tampering.
-Ritualist, Heinrich is a master of rituals. these rituals can have nearly any affect one can think of, however the greater the affect the rarer the reagent must be. In addition to incantations in usually a dead language and magic circles of complex natures that must be exact. Possibly along with certain locations and times or events that it must be done under.
