Immediately following the ring announcer's introduction of the match, the lights went out and guitar riffs had played for a recently returned veteran. The audience gave tremendously audible cheers for the signal of the Suplex Shooter, who had unfortunately lost his first match in Bad Blood Wrestling at the hands of Cyrus Leone. Green laser lights shot from the edges of the video-less titantron, synchronized with the electric guitar; they were the only lights visible to the camera besides the flashes of camera and people glued to their cell phones. Hopefully they weren't stuck on their phones, too long. Thanks to lovely booking, they were going to see a dream match for few: AJ Warner vs. Shadow. The best part? It was on free television. The unfortunate part? This fight between two proud and established fighters may last more than a couple commercial breaks.
"Moving in Stereo" -- The Cars
Life's the same, I'm moving in stereo. Life's the same, except for my shoes. Life's the same, you're shaking like tremolo. Life's the same, it's all inside of you.
The green laser lights had become suddenly absent as the blue spotlight hit the top of the ramp, revealing who else but Warner with a big smile on his face. The audience roared at their rarely babyface AJ, who nodded to them in approval. He put his hand flat and parallel to his eyebrows, slowly turning his head and scanning the audience, even though he could not see them through the darkness. Perhaps it was his sense of humor, but regardless of the fact he could not see them, he could feel their presence especially strong tonight. To the fans in the internet wrestling community who called this a potentially spectacular bout, they called it right. Warner stopped his scanning and looked towards the ring, beginning his slow walk towards the canvas. He slapped the extended hands of fans from both sides, his arms reaching towards his left and right to make sure he got everyone. The spotlight had followed him every step of the journey.
Its so easy, to blow up your problems. Its so easy, to play up your breakdown. Its so easy, to fly through a window. Its so easy, to fool with the sound.
"Introducing first, fighting out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, weighing in at two hundred twenty-eight pounds, A-JAAAAAYYYY WARRRRNERR!"
Stopping at the bottom of the ramp, the Shooter had looked to his left and to his right, where he could see the nearby fans a bit better. AJ saw a kid in the front row and threw him his towel with a smile and nod. No words needed to be said, but it was the mutual sign of respect between the impressionable young kid and the warrior who still had a young fan base who cheered him on. Warner turned to his left and walked up the stairs quickly, immediately walking on the apron and stopping halfway between the two turnbuckles. AJ climbed into the ring by swinging his leg over the middle rope. He walked towards the turnbuckle towards his far left and got on the second turnbukcle, nodding to the crowd before telling them to get louder by motioning his hands in a fashion that usually meant "get up." Warner hopped down and the lights came back on, the music shut down, but the ovation from the fans was still warming to hear, especially for a guy who was used to playing the villain.

"And his opponent..."The twanging of a familiar guitar drowned the arena in torpor as chords and cheers nearly brought the roof down. A lone spotlight shone at the top of the stage as an elevator in the center of the ramp rose a man sitting in a rocking chair. Light refracted on his waist, a unfamiliar title belt the source. The older man was more familiar though. "From the Land of the Setting Sun, weighing in at two hundred and thirty-one pounds: Shadooow!"As he rocked in his chair, Shadow stared down towards AJ in the ring, a look of acidic contempt on his face. His music in full swing, Shadow stood up as those in attendance began to experience the "Fear of a Blank Planet". Sunlight coming through the haze No depths in the blinds To let it inside The bed is unmade Some music still plays TV, yeah it's always on The flicker of the screen A movie actress screams I'm basking in the s**t flowing out of it
I'm stoned in the mall again Terminally bored Shuffling round the stores And shoplifting is getting so last year's thing
My X-box is a god to me A finger on the switch My mother is a b***h My father gave up ever trying to talk to me
Shadow walked down to the ring, a microphone produced itself in his hand as he began to speak. "Do you see this?" He pointed to the belt around his waist as his music died. "This was my first championship. THIS was what defined a program that some of you old neckbeards like me remember." He paused. "But I don't have a neck beard cause my heritage makes my vision widescreen."He took to the stairs. "This is the OECW Seasons Championship. And I was its flagship. This belt means more to me than all six of my Heavyweight titles. This is a belt that someone like you could never truly appreciate. So I'm giving you a chance, AJ."He climbed through the ropes and got within steps of AJ. "And not just you, anyone else in the back, at the next outdoor PPV, I will give you a chance at taking this title away from me. And if you beat me tonight AJ, I'll give you that first match exclusively. But I doubt you will... because I'm always in my element." He lowered the microphone and awaited AJ's response.

AJ walked over to the ring announcer and asked for the microphone. After being handed the talking wand, Warner raised it to his lips and looked towards Shadow with a confident look on his face. Today he was a man of few (or fewer) words, but he spoke with the same confidence he had before... just not as egocentric. "A real common mistake that people make around here is underestimating me. So I'm gonna give you the chance to make that same mistake, not once.... but twice." The audience responded to the Suplex Shooter accepting the challenge, now opening the possibility of these two facing each other twice. Warner got back within the distance Shadow had initially made between the two during his final words. "Just expect tonight to be a sneak peak of the next pay-per-view."

Shadow tossed the mic and took off the Seasons Championship belt, handing it off to a crew member. He took to his corner as the bell rang for the match to begin, eyes on AJ as he awaited AJ's ring response.

Warner dropped the microphone in his corner and nodded to Shadow with a smile on his face. This match just became even more interesting. The crowd brought electricity and these two had brought a show. AJ started to quickly circle the ring until about halfway through a complete circle, where he would try to initiate engaging Shadow in an collar and elbow tie up.

Shadow locked with AJ, the two being of similar size held to be a fairly even push and pull. They tussled through the center of the ring for a few seconds as the old man tried to hold his own. Eventually, feeling himself weaken, Shadow opted to maneuver AJ into a side headlock. Tests of endurance were not something he could manage anymore with these younger stars.

Shadow was still a step quicker regardless of age, getting to lock Warner in a side headlock before he could attempt the same. AJ was in the side headlock for a brief moment, but refused to be in it much longer, still fresh and rejuvenated since it was the start of the match. The Suplex Shooter went to push Shadow off of him and into the ropes.

This starting exchange of holds and shoves was older than even Shadow, but he wasn't really that old, everyone just loved to give him s**t about it because he was older and Asian so the p***s jokes were bound to show up sooner or later (or not rise to the occasion as the joke could be made. Bastards.) but that was a slight tangent. Shadow bounced off the ropes and came back at AJ with a shoulder block, or the hop over if AJ would drop to the ground as per tradition of this exchange.

The Suplex Shooter was met with a shoulder block almost as soon as he shoved Shadow into the ropes. Now was the obvious tactic; playing the ground game. Rather than immediately getting up, Warner would wait for Shadow's next move after being pancake blocked to the mat.

Obvious tactics? There wasn't really anything obvious going on here, unless you call a BOOTTOTHEHEAD obvious. In a attempting sort of way.

Obviously, AJ was surprised when his head was met with the bottom of Shadow's boot. He pressed his palm against the spot of the strike and rolled to his knees, using one forearm for leverage and the other arm's elbow pressed against the mat so his palm could still "heal" his wounds.

AJ would soon learn that if there was one opening that you didn't want to give Shadow, it would be a kneeling position. A smirk on his face, he took a step towards AJ and raised an elbow, aiming to drop it across AJ's spine with a sickening thud.

Warner belly flopped back onto the mat, his spine aching from the elbow being driven into it. AJ couldn't do much but try to push himself up with his hands and knees again.

Shadow was in control of the match for now and he wasn't about to let that slip away. Which meant that AJ wouldn't be allowed to slip away. Scooting next AJ, Shadow made a grab for his head to pull him into a headlock to then pull him into a full body-scissors hold on their sides.
