Roll a Twelve: Graveyard Field: In this particular field selection, the stadium ceiling is shut tight, covering the entire inner area of the stadium in a veil of pure darkness. The ordinary dirt field is swapped out for a field full of grave stones scattered across the lifeless soil. Near the northern end of the battle field, a single withered tree stands hunched over as though in constant mourning of those who rest for eternity here. A dense fog weaves in and out of the headstones and hinders vision. The fog itself seems damp and heavy, like the tears of the living mourning for the lost. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GHOST and DARK type attacks.

Lenore walked into the stadium, her attention on the book in her hands rather than where she was going. Pulling Sheoldred's pokeball from her pocket, the girl sent out the metapod.
Sheoldred glared around at the foggy field as she waited for her opponent.

Corbin walked into the stadium with Valkyrie by his side. He wasn't a believer in pokeballs and thus didn't use them. Valkyrie was an exception since she refused to be released into the wild after what had happened to her long ago. Far safer to stay with Corbin. Naturally Corbin took in the field and their opponent, a young girl and a Metapod. The girl didn't seem much interested in the battle and the pokemon at first glance appeared to almost harmless, if a bit creepy looking. "Hello! Thanks for having this battle with me." He called out, "Sorry to have just randomly asked you. I just got here and didn't know anyone else to ask!"
Valkyrie shook her head at her trainer and walked onto the field. She eyed Sheoldred suspiciously. She didn't like the looks of this one.

It was time to start the battle. Corbin looked at Valkyrie and nodded. "Um... what attack.... attack.... um.... what does a Mienfoo know..." He muttered to himself. He didn't mean to but he naturally acted like a idiot after years of playing the part.
At least Valkyrie knew what to do. At her trainer's nod she began to advance. She then broke into a run and as she drew close, jumped high into the air. She somersaulted and then dove down at the Metapod picking up speed.

Lenore looked up from her book towards the man and tilted her head. She didn't remember Erika telling her what to say if someone just thanks you for a battle before it was over. "You're welcome?" She turned her attention back to her book.
Down in the battle, the blood barely had time to form a protective shell around Sheoldred before the meinfoo struck, cracking the shield. As shards of congealed blood dropped down around her, Sheoldred launched herself at Valkyrie.

Valkyrie flinched when the blood barrier appeared but she still hit it. She jumped back and stared at her opponent. That was not right. Clearly something was wrong with this pokemon. Her eyes grew wide as the Metapod flung itself at her and she was hit hard. She jumped back again to put some space between them. Once she was sure she was safe she jumped up for another bounce.
"Wow." Corbin whistled at seeing the blood shield. He had never seen something like that before. Definitely something to look into.

The blood swirled to protect Sheoldred but was too slow to do so, and the metapod was slammed into the ground by the meinfoo's crushing attack. Sheoldred glared up at Valkyrie as the blood shot forward and grabbed hold of the meinfoo, whipping the metapod towards her.

Valkyrie looked at the blood that shot out at her in disgust. "Fooo." She muttered. She raised her arms up to take the brunt of the blow. Flinging her arms down and cutting the blood ropes, she freed herself. Jumping up high she prepared to attack again.

The blood pooled into a protective shell around Sheoldred once more, and just like the last time was shattered by the meinfoo's powerful strikes. Glaring at her opponent, Sheoldred launched herself forward.

Valkyrie was hit again. She jumped back and landed in a fighting pose. It didn't last long before she was jumping back into the air. After aiming at Sheoldred she plummeted down at her.

Valkyrie wasn't going to relent just because this blood shield creeped her out. After getting hit again she jumped up. With a somersault she began to descend back down towards Sheoldred.

Lenore looked up from her book to see the meinfoo deliver the final blow to the metapod, and while Sheoldred struggled to get back up, the girl knew the metapod was defeated; Sheoldred slumped down a moment later, confirming it. Lenore returned the metapod to her pokeball and left with a wave.

Valkyrie stepped back after her opponent struggled to get back up. She kept a ready pose just in case but she figured this battle was done. It was confirmed when Sheoldred slumped down. She gave a nod and walked over to Corbin.
Corbin had watched the battle with interest and waved back at Lenore. He would have said something but she left too quickly. "Well good job Valkyrie." He said patting her on the head. He received a blow to the leg from that as she didn't take compliments and praise all that well still. "Okay... I get it. Now let's see if we can't find any of my siblings.... or maybe go house hunting.... or something." He said while leading them out of the stadium.
