It was long since overdue.
Captain Mica took to the great hallways, passing through the crystal walls and not once slowing down or batting an eye at the inhabitants that clawed at the walls. Their moans and growls meant little to her now, and while it might have been callous for someone to ignore such distressed beings wrought with suffering, Mica simply had other matters on her mind. It never dawned on her that she had never ventured into the Rifts to claim a youma for herself, but perhaps she could be persuaded to do so. Once she had a personal matter settled.
She made her way to General-King Zinkenite's office, paying little attention to her surroundings and only keeping her eyes set before her. Her mind wanted to wander to many different places, but she kept it in line, with just as much control and fervor as she did her emotions. At long last, she felt as though she were ready. She felt as though she had done all that she needed to do, and that there would be more, waiting just beyond those doors.
All she needed to do was knock. She looked to her weapon, at the amber rainbow crystal that glistened, before giving a sneer and twirling her weapon around, to where she could knock on the door with the dull side. There was no time to waste.
"General-King Zinkenite, a moment of your time please?" endejester I hope this is an ok start.

“Come in Captain.” He said with a brief glance from his papers, he tapped them on the heavy worn wood of the table square the edges and then set them down, resting the pen he’d been using on top of them as a sort of paperweight. Their new database was nothing sort of delicious and practical, but there were still things he preferred ultimately, to do by hand. “What is on your mind?” He asked, tipping his head slightly, then moving very precisely to another pile of papers and counting down a number of papers, pulling free a sheaf, neatly bound by a paper clip though utterly unreadable unless you knew his strange personal variation on ‘short hand’. He glanced over the papers, turning pages casually and tapping for a moment lightly on one or two of the symbols drawn there before flipping them closed. “My Undivided attention now, at least for a short while.” He nodded. “Something troubling you?”

Mica waited until she was given the permission before stepping into the office, and now more than ever was she trying to keep her nerves steady and wits about her. It had been a long time she she stepped foot inside a General-King's office… well over a year now, or so she thought? She did not necessarily fear Zinkenite or what else would lay beyond those doors, but it was still hard to control herself from the excitement and the smallest sense of dread.
She waited until she was standing before him before speaking up, and her bow was polite, but tight, an outward sign of the apprehension that she was trying to contain. "Thank you, General-King. I understand you're busy and I appreciate any time you give me."
Then he asked her a question that she thought she was prepared for, but still, it was hard for her to maintain her calm. She didn't want to admit to any weaknesses she might have felt, but she wouldn't lie to her superior officer. "Sir, I'm not sure where to begin. But I feel as if I've made a few mistakes… and in doing so, I've let you and the Negaverse down."
She presented her weapon before him, bringing the rainbow crystal into his view as she confessed. "I don't feel as if I am worthy of this rainbow crystal anymore. Maybe I once did, long ago, but now I let my faith slip, and I've squandered it… like I've squandered the power given to me by Metallia."

“Zinkenite, for now, and here please… just Zinkenite. Consider it to be ‘just us’.” He glanced at the crystal and then back at her… lifting his chin slightly and tilting his head inexorably to the side. It was an owlish gesture, but hard to read with half his face covered. As expressive as eyes could be it was a hard thing indeed to read a man, or woman when less than half of the clues were there. “And, how do you feel you have let us down?” He asked quietly, it was not a dangerous tone in his voice. He was simply listening. Letting her speak her mind without judgment or ominous overtones. Not yet at least. “If you feel that you have failed us, you of all people must then have a plan on how to amend this.” His hand moved to his own hip, a crimson crystal hung there from a heavy chain. It was the first crystal that the Dark Kingdom had recovered. To this day he couldn’t stand the taste of ‘red velvet’ cake. “Do you need my assistance then? How might I help you…achieve your intents?”

"My apologies, Zinkenite. It's always been hard for me to address others so casually, especially those I respect, but I will try my best." Mica lowered her gaze for a moment, fearing that she had made the same mistake with Ilmenite. There was no time to dwell on it, though, as she would not leave his questions unanswered. "I've let you down with my absence. When there were changes taking place within the Negaverse, I… failed to adapt to the situation. I grew bitter, and so… I left."
She abandoned many things, not just the Negaverse, but was there anything more important than that at the moment? No. Not at the moment, anyway. "Instead of accepting my orders and changing to suit the Negaverse's need, I reacted childishly, and for that, I've already let you all down. Then, when I returned, I still held some resentment, and because of that, I've allowed my selfishness blind me from the pain it was causing my fellow officers."
He asked if she had a plan, and she was proud to say, "Yes. I wish to help my fellow officers with my medical knowledge, as well as whatever combative skills I possess, as outdated and rusty they may be. Many of them get hurt and I understand that going to the hospital may not be so simple for them, given their financial situation. That's something I've been coping with as well, as of late."
She wanted to say no when asked if she needed assistance, but that was a lie. She nodded her head, as she looked up to him. "Zinkenite, I… have no use for dwelling in the past anymore. I only want to move forward, and to do so, I've decided to give up my Rainbow Crystal."

He nodded slightly, thoughtfully. “I see, well, perhaps you will consider something.” He waved his hand. “Consider, not simply engaging in trying to help and heal us by yourself, consider starting a –team, A group of us who are willing and able to learn and specialize in both field medic skills to…well, why not start watching doctors and see whom we can recruit.” He stepped forward and clasped a hand around the spear, tipped by her crystal, and with little warning beyond proximity he reached into her chest. Such a dangerous action, no matter who you were it could go ‘either way’ once a hand was wrapped around your precious star seed. “This, will make it easier for you obviously, I think your desire to surrender something so precious, is as good a reason as any in your file that you would deserve this, don’t you?” He didn’t really need an answer; it wouldn’t have changed the fact he was going to promote her regardless. He pushed chaos into her soul, agony that would toy with her nerve endings, an eternity in a handful of seconds.

She arched an eyebrow at his 'suggestion', but she didn't argue against it. His reasoning was sound and in truth it would have been just as beneficial to her as it would for the Negaverse. If they wanted them to take to the field more often for energy drainings and collecting starseeds of their enemy, then the likelyhood of someone being injured increased, and for some, going to the hospital was simply out of the question. It made sense to Mica, and she gave a single, but solid nod. "I will ask around and do a little scouting of my own. I think I might already have someone in mind, if the squawking peacock's word is anything to go off. I will abide."
Despite how she prided herself into thinking that she was unrelenting, she couldn't prevent the gasp from leaving her throat when his hand protruded through her chest, and as painful as it was, she refused to scream or cry. She bite down on her lip and forced herself to stare forward, offering him no resistance or struggle, even when it hurt, and threatened to get worse. There was no fear within her, though. She trusted in Zinkenite, and in herself, that she'd make it through this endeavor just fine. And if she didn't? Then she simply wasn't worthy...
"If... I thought it would help the cause, I'd give my life, Zinkenite," Mica said, forcing herself to look at him and not the crystal that she once cherished, used to hurt many foe, and ultimately squandered. Perhaps one day she'd see it again, but be as it may, she'd rather see it lost forever than ever in the hands of a Senshi again. She gave another nod, hoping that her voice reflected her resolve, as she forced the crystal from her mind. "But I could do more alive... and making sure to keep others alive as well. It's what I must do."
It was the last thing she could manage to get out before the pain became unbearable, and she welcomed it. She welcomed the chaos that Zinkenite offered her, and though she closed her turquoise eyes against the pain, she was determined to stand talk, as the rush of energy that surged through her body like a chill was oddly comforting to her, a reminder that she was alive and her new course laid before her.
Seconds felt like minutes, but eventually the pain began to ebb away, and when Mica opened her eyes, she didn't need to look at herself to know what she already knew. She had made it to General, and it was about damn time too.

“Well, General…” He nodded in approval. “I hope you’ll find your change in rank commands a good base of respect, its your actions that will keep that respect.” He nodded. “Just remember, there are very few situations where your death would be the benefit, and I hope you never encounter one where it would be.” He lifted his hand again for a moment, almost patting her on the arm and then thinking better of it, letting it drop again. “We advance because of the choices we make, we gain reputations that we can not escape for the same. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about you though General. Good luck.”

She took in his words and gave a solemn but proud nod, knowing that she could have outwardly appeared more grateful to him, but why? Zinkenite already knew how determined she was to move on and help the cause, else why would she have given up the Rainbow Crystal? There may have been a part of her that would miss it, and the damage it would inflict, but that part of her was small, and, for the moment, unheard.
She didn't care what would happen to the crystal. Its fate, so long as it remained within the Negaverse's grasps somewhere, was no longer her concern.
In its place, though, she looked down at the weight to her waist and had seen the small, but obviously medkit, and she could not help but give a smile at the sight of it. A medkit, to represent her new, and true, path in life. No, it was more of a rebirth of sorts. This was always what she was meant for, and now, she was determined that nothing would deter her from that path she had once treaded so long ago. One that she would not be treading alone, either.
"Thank you, Zinkenite... for your wisdom and power," Mica said, knowing that he would have wanted her to be more casual, but she refused not to give him a bow. It wasn't stiff or wooden, nor forced, but more relaxed, and her smile was soft but clear to make out. "I will continue to do my best, and I will use this power to its fullest. I'll send my report once I have found those willing to assist in my new med-team. Until then."
Then, with nothing more to say, General Mica took her leave. She could have taken the time to celebrate her promotion, but she had work to do.endejester Thanks again for the RP! C:
