Lu grew up in Sagestone with his two older siblings, parents, and grandparents. His brother, six years his elder, ran away when Lu was eleven and left a reputation for being a troublemaker; this reputation was expected of Lu when he reached middle school, but his demure personality led to him being pushed around and bullied. He didn't have many friends and found he didn't want any after his best friend in middle school turned into a bully when they hit high school. He kworked in a family run clinic from age 14 to 19, serving as a janitor, errand runner, and eventually a secretary and assistant to the nurses. Lu mostly kept to himself and his garden and never ventured far from home. He fought with his parents about him not pursuing college after high school or trying to save money to leave home like his older siblings had, and a particularly bad fight when he was 19 ended with Lu leaving home for good. Lu headed for Makko Town with his first and only pokemon at the time, an Absol named Tea, and was recruited to Rocket on his way there. Lu joined Rocket rather irrationally, almost to spite his parents for pushing him to pursue a career. At first he regretted his decision and struggle to adapt, but after more than a year with Rocket he feel comfortable and has made friends. Lu doesn't regret his decision(as much) now and eventually transferred to the Botany department, and occasionally works in the clinic.

 Zacharie Dubois:....... The first friend Lu made in Rocket; Lu considers Zacharie his best friend and likes helping him around the labs. Now that Lu works in the labs as well, albeit a different section, he's glad to see more of him. Lu likes knitting him sweaters and other knit accesories.Tambrey Greene:....... Lu likes Tambrey a lot and is happy to be working more with her. He thinks she's very smart and he always goes away learning something when they talk. He's a little intimidated by her, despite knowing how nice she is; he doesn't really know why.Faleen Ewell:............. Lu thinks she's incredibly smart and doesn't understand how she does what she does, but can appreciate her work, no matter how confusing.Kyle Lawrence:......... Lu isn't a huge fan of Kyle and generally tries to avoid him. Kyle reminds him a bit of people he dealt with in high school, but he thinks a little higher of him after getting an apology for a case of wrongfully directed anger. Lu almost got him killed once, so he feels Kyle's dislike of him is at least semi-justified and doesn't hold it against him.KO:............................. Lu's roommate; Lu likes KO and thinks he's the kind of guy that can accomplish anything he tries. He appreciates KO's skill with people, and clothes; definitely the person Lu goes to when his shirts don't fit.Izaya Orihara:.......... Well... Lu's met worse people. He thinks Izaya is just a little... misguided.
