Iris Topaz + KylieamThey will wake up draped over a large tree root. Below them will be a muddy marsh. The air is very muggy and full of mosquitoes. There are lily pads everywhere, with a frog on nearly each one. Some of the frogs are poisonous, but its difficult to tell in the poor lighting. * Iris Topaz lost her pack when she was picked up by the harpy eagle. Kyliem kept his. * There are many sturdy vines within arms reach. There is a small boat stuck in between two dead and twisted trees about ten yards away. There is one oar in it. [They have water and food and do not need to search for any. Shelter is what they will need to find.]

 Everything had gone blank. Kylieam couldn't remember what he was doing, what had happened... and why he was now suddenly waking up slumped over a rather large tree root. Had he had too much to drink at the campsite? Those fairies seemed to enjoy giving out... well whatever they saw fit too. With a groan, he ran his fingers through his hair as he attempted to hoist himself off the root.
It wasn't until he was near halfway up that he noticed someone else was with him. One of those... faunies, did they call them? "Hey... hey are you ok?" he asked startled, his voice coming out in a broken cough. His chest was sore from most of his weight being placed on it while he was unconscious on the root. Steadying himself, he reached out to gently place a hand on her shoulder. She was still breathing... that was good at least. He had almost forgotten his pack when it began to slid from his arm and his flailing attempts to catch it before it smacked her in the face caused him to slide off and land rather unpleasantly on his rear in what seemed to be a thick muddy marsh. "Oh gross.... this is not what i signed up for!" he wheezed, smacking away a few mosquito as he climbed back up the root with some help from his wings.
"Hey... hey lady wake up, are you ok?" he croaked again with another cough... this time realizing... his voice wasn't the only one croaking. From what he could tell, a sea of frogs poured out all around them in the dim light of the marsh. "Lovely.... just lovely..."

Iris Topaz groan As she felt some one calling and shaking her. She rubbed her head as she opened her eyes. This did not look like a huge nest in the top of a tree were was she. She saw the purple demon who fell into the muck. "Yeah I think I am going to be ok. How about you?" Her chest hurt from holding all her weight. She pulled her self up with her arms and got her self sitting on the root.
Looking around she got a better grip of the situation. How did she get from the nest here. "Well I am in a tree again but this lower to the ground. If you could call that ground." she looked down at the marsh as she heard the frogs and fog as far as the eye could see. "Well this is not what I expected when I sighed up for a walk." Looking over at Kylieam she put out her hand. "Nice to meet you my name is Iris Topaz. Do you know what happened?"

'lieam had taken to busing himself shaking muck off his tail and legs when the faunie finally woke up. He offered her a soft smile, listening to her speak about being in a tree and now being... at the bottom of it. He glanced up at the very top and then back at he hand, taking it and shaking it gently. "Oh... I'm Kylieam. Its...erm... nice to meet you too Iris Topaz.... if you could call this a meeting..." he said and laughed awkwardly, followed by a hard gulp.
"So.. wait... you were.. up there?" he asked and pointed at the tree. If she had fallen from up there, how did she get down here without being in pieces... or at least broken. Second thought, how even did he get here? "I really can't answer that... your guess is just as good as mine." he blinked, his dark eyes gazing back out over the frogs and muck. Now that he actually stooped to look, he noticed several low hanging vines one could climb up on... and something stuck between two twisted trees not far away.
"I don't mean to cut our little meeting short, but what say we get out of here as fast as possible? I think there's something over there.." he pointed towards the lodged boat... before waving his hands frantically to swat away more mosquitoes.

Iris Topaz looked up into the tree it did not look like the tree that she had been in earlier although she was at the top so she had no clue what the bottom looked like. "I do not think it was this tree but it leaves one wondering..." She stopped as she noticed the vines "These might come in handy" She said as she touched the vine. Turning to get into the her bag she realized that she had lost it when she got garbed by the big bird. "Kylieam Can you cut these down for me I would have done so my self but my bag is gone. Then I agree with you we should get out of here as so as possible." Trying to stand up Iris Topaz learned that Hoofs were not meant for balancing on round objects. She carefully walked once in a while wobbling because of balance.

'lieam had a very strong urge to ask her what she was doing at the top o a tree in the first place, but now really wasn't the time for a random question and answer session. They had to get out of here somehow... then they could figure out how they got there. And preferably...now to not ever get stuck there again.
He glanced at the vines and then nodded. He was thinking perhaps they could swing across on them, but it seemed like she had an idea... and it also seemed like there were plenty of vines to go around. "Yeah, I can cut a few down. Maybe we can swing on some to get across?" he tilted his head, scratching at the side of his chin. The lily pads didn't seem like sufficient enough to hold both their weights.... not to mention the plethora of frogs.
"Call me whatever you will..." he began, turning to grab up his pack and fish out a knife before closing it up and slinging the back over his shoulders. "But I don't think I want to touch those frogs.... This place gives me a bad vibe." he said and gulped, grabbing up one of the vines he cut off and presenting it to her, also slightly freaking out every time she wobbled and reached out to steady her.
Her hoof feet things really weren't great for walking around on tree roots..... he silently thanked the Guardians he could at least grip with his.

The vines are sturdy enough to swing on. If the pair can make it to the boat, they will find there is also a muddy bank just beyond where the boat is stuck. The bank may lead to solid land and a way out of the marsh.
The tide is still low, but it is rising. A quick look at the trees will tell the pair how high the tide will be, and if they will be safe on the root should they choose to stay.

She took the wine from him "Thank you," she then looked up at the wines swinging from them might work it would be easier to do than to just walk on this tree root although she had never done it before. "Do you have any experience wine swinging?" She then looked over at the frogs "I do not think we should touch them either they could be posionus but lets first get to that boat." she noticed that all the trees had water marks on them. "I think we may be at low tide if the water gets higher we may lose the boat." She wrapped the vine around her like a bandoleer and then grande another vine and realized it could help her keep on her feet. Since it could hold her weight that meant if they used it to swing on they would be ok.

The purple demon had absolutely no experience with swinging on vines whatsoever. "I don't fancy trips to marshes... so... No.. I'm afraid." he admitted, tugging on a vine to see just how sturdy they really were. They seemed to hold up at least, to all his yanking and tugging.
He fanned out his wings and pondered a moment. Perhaps he could use them to help swing him along quicker? "I don't think it could be too difficult... though we don't have much of a running start, but I have wings..." he offered, glancing back at her. Maybe he could carry her on his back.. or front.. or something???!!
He then glanced down at the water and gulped. "Lets hope it stays low tide enough to get to the boat." he said aloud, though mostly thinking to himself.
He tested a vine again, grabbing it firmly, wrapping his wrists in it for some sort of support, before gripping, stepping back a few ways as best he could, and darting off from the root, using his wings to give him a good boost to the next nearest tree root to touch down on. He smiled. "Seems good enough!" he called back to her. "Just give it a good heave. If not... I can try to carry you and swing maybe?"

sailornorthstar I'm going to make another post, sort of a solo but not really, just so they are actually getting somewhere since this is ending soonish.
Lucky that didn't seem to happen as they eventually made it across to the boat. Once there, he dropped down outside, waiting for her to drop down inside while he attempted to work it out of the tree roots into the water. It took several pushing and shoving and adjusting but he finally managed to get it lose and was able to give it a soft push off to get them going.
Flaring his wings, he alighted inside the boat, taking up the ore and began directing them... well to the best of his extent since he hadn't ever really steered a boat before, but it couldn't be too hard... right? ... towards the shore on the other side. Hopefully that would be their ticket out of this place.
However, the tide was rising and staying put didn't feel like too safe of an option, so he powered on, rowing sloppily but he slowly managed to figure this rowing thing out and they were on a ... semi straight path towards the shore. It took them only a few more minutes and quick panic stroking to turn back the right way till they managed to hit the shore.
Hopping out of the boat, Kylieam glanced around, adjusting his pack back onto his shoulders. "Well... now where do we go...." he sighed.

She was so happt that he had control of the boat since she had never been in one before that had to be rowed. Topaz carefully got out of the boat and into the muddy shore. "I think we should get away from the shore since the tide is coming in." she looked around and realized that the boat would might be worth keeping. "I think we should keep the boat because what if we come across another river we are going to need a boat unless you want to try to walk across it." She tested trying to pick it up it was heavier than what she had expected. "Or may be this is a bad idea."

Kylieam nodded. Getting away from the shore was a good idea, especially if the tide was rising as fast as it was. As for the boat however...
He watched her try to lift it and then made a sort of half laugh half not face. ( sweatdrop ) "As much as I think that is a great idea too.... I don't think we can lift it. Maybe if we waited for the water to get high enough, we could drag it but..... I think its best we hoof it towards higher drier land.....erm.... no offense..." he stated then glanced down at her ...hooves... and rubbed the back of his head.
Whoops... better refrain from any unintentional puns 'lieam...

Topaz sighed she guessed that it was not worth trying to keep the boat. "You are right." She giggled when he said lets hoof it. "No offense taken, I hope you can wing your way to find your way to get us some food." She hit her head with her hand she realized what she said sounded so stupid. "Sorry about that. Any way I will lead." She said hoping he could not see her blushing face as she walked into the away from the water and hopefully from making her self look like more of an idiot.

Had she just made a pun of her own?!
He couldn't help but laugh. "Hoof it. Wing my way.... I say were a right bunch of comedians." he chuckled as he watched her for a moment. She was kinda pretty for being a faun... and sparkly... why wasn't he sparkly?
But she had a point, they would need food... the tree's were pretty high up too, he wasn't sure if he could just fly to the top.. which is probably why he hadn't thought of trying to just fly out of there anyways. It seemed like something unseen was trying to keep them there... maybe whatever scooped her up and had her up in the trees.... Kylieam shuddered thinking about it.
"I'll keep an eye out for food, maybe there are some fruits on the ground... or berries..... or a small critter to catch..." did she even eat meat? He had no earthly idea what these sparkly hoofed ladies ate.....
What if they ate purple demons?!!?!!!!
.....
Naaww, that's just silly...... right?
"Errm.. well.. in any case... I think we may need to find some kind of place to stay that's safe.... ya know... encase we get stuck out here... " he sighed and rubbed the back of his head, running to catch up with her and walk at her side.

"I do not think I am much of a comedian. Although I think I do good voice overs for a mute god of flattery." She froze she could not believe that she said that after how badly that dance had been she never wanted to remember it again. She shook her head and thought about the topic she had brought up food. "I do not eat meat so if we can find some fruits or vegies that would be great although from the look of these trees if they grew anything I wonder if it would be editable but then the animals here must eat something unless it is yellow Faunys and Purple Demons we should be alright but if they do try to eat us please do not take offense if I run faster than you and leave you behind." she said with a nervous smile She did not know if she was faster than him but it sounded funny right. She looked up at the canopy of the trees to try to see if she could see if anything was growing in them.
