"Ran, are you sure you do not want to go? Come on, Chen is at least old enough to watch this place for us. Besides, we will be gone for only a short while. I know just the outfit for you to wear as well!" Yukari asked, already changed in something more presented on the other side. Some kind of weird jeans and blouse combination with high heeled shoes. It's a wonder how she even has time to find the right size. It does show off her figure nicely though.

"You worry way to much at times, I swear. Hence why 'we' need this trip." with that playful grin, it was quite obvious that Yukari planned more than just a simple trip between them. Occasionally, Yukari does visit the other side time and time again. Either to see the sights, how the civilization is expanding without them and to 'Help' a certain shopkeeper with some items to sell. On this trip, Yukari felt the need to give Ran a chance to relax but also witness what humans are like without them.
Once Yukari found a nice sun hat to go with Ran's attire, she instantly placed it on her head with a big smile "Now change your clothes this instant or I will leave you behind."

Once Ran changed her attire and did the necessary, Yukari would open a portal.
"Okay Chen. Be good." she said before stepping in and waiting for Ran on the other side. To make sure they were not seen as such, the gap led to an empty alley in the back of some kind of building. The air was abuzz with the sound of humans talking and walking. The signs in a language she could understand easily. They were far from the border in the city called 'Tokyo'. Taking one quick look out at the street before her, she scowled a bit in secret. Thinking to herself "This is the world devoid of all creatures and beasts of 'Myth'. As common as it is to me, each time I come they have made thousands of new creations. It is very harsh." her mood would change immediately once Ran came with her. Yukari had to show Ran what life on the other side was like without Youkai...or lack thereof.

"Only certain places are this loud. Some are only half as loud while a selective locations are still quite. Now let's get going!" Yukari was filled with excitement, dragging Ran with her down the sidewalk and exposing her to what has happened. Constructions that reach the sky and possibly the clouds. Establishments dedicated to serving food, both home cooked and fast. Strange contraptions and clothing styles hung in some windows as people walk by. The world seemed distant from the populace with the strange objects in their ears or what seemed like slabs of metal that they talk into. Yes the world beyond the barrier has grown into a state of socialization done mainly over the technology than in voice. Even the vehicles are not powered by horses anymore.
Yukari would lead Ran over to a small little department store to browse around for a bit. Her plan was in motion as is with the walk.
"Though the world seems noisy, there is so much to see and do! Such wondrous methods to have fun! Singing in a booth, shopping, drinking, eating, even the arcades are addicting every now and again." Yukari said, nearly spinning in the department store's electronic section. The Televisions on the wall were playing the same moving image to show it's color and clarity to be nearly real. Though the various sizes in length and girth can cause migraines if exposed for too long. Along the isles were strange ropes with metal tips or smaller threads inside them, encased in plastic. Some rows had square, flat objects with a static image and words. Yukari was eyeing the contraptions with lenses, almost like cameras.
"You know Ran, Humans tend to be very distant from their roots lately. Some have gone the way of no longer speaking and instead letting the machines write out for them. The leap in technology from Gensokyo is truly astonishing and scary." she picked up a box that seemed to have a disposable camera in it as she continued to narrate a bit.
"The Humans are like ants. Small and weak but they can build such amazing works in a matter of days, with equipment they made and improved over the centuries. Like ants, you can keep killing them and killing them....and there will always be more humans." her voice grew a bit darker towards the end to signify her own hate for Humans in times gone by. Though Gensokyo humans have learned to at least live in neutrality with Youkai, the humans here would never care.

"Can I help you find anything?" a worker asked. Yukari turned with a bright smile as she replied with the box in hand "No thank you, but I appreciate it if you could give me a price on this 'camera'?" giving Ran some time to think and look around on her own.

After getting the price, she heard the ever so precious voice from Ran with the clothes. She thought about it for a bit, but only as a joke, before smiling back. "Why not? It would be a nice souvenir when we get back." she gladly took it nicely over to the counter, paying it with money to which no one knows how she obtained some, and walked out with Ran by her side. Once they exited the doors, Yukari took the camera from the box and started moving a dial on it till it clicked. She pressed the button on top and took the first of thirty images of Ran. Winding it again to prepare a second.
"I say you look quite adorable with a hat." her smile a bit contagious in that lighthearted way. She looked around and wondered what to do next.
"Tell me if there is anything that catches your eye as we walk." Yukari said, taking a picture down the street to show the depth of this city. What was she planning to do with that camera at all?

Yukari curiously looked over to Ran. "Oh? Well it wouldn't hurt. Just don't expect this food to be the best there is here." Yukari guided Ran inside with her, the smell and sounds were all done with people moving in and out like a working machine. The strange sign above showed detailed images of the food that was only in the pictures and only a false shroud for the real meal behind it. Next to them are prices and numbers. Yukari would take the reigns at this time and ordered for them two simple hamburgers with a side of fries and some drinks. As they waited, Yukari demonstrated the machine that dispences a variety of drinks, only taking water at this time with some ice.
"While we wait, I wanted to ask you a question? Have you noticed how no one seems to care much about our presence or bothered to look at us?" Yukari asked, the first of many lessons she would teach to Ran about what changed in the outside world for them.

The humans all seem so focused on the task at hand and not around them. Though some talked to each other, it was only with them and not others. As if they were missing something in their lives. More evidence came to light when two business men bumped shoulders with one another yet continued to walk off as if nothing happened. They were nothing like the humans in Gensokyo at all...

"I can't say where I got this realm's currency but I can answer the other question." Yukari said, taking the try with the boxes of their very fast and cheap food to a table. From there, Yukari explained a bit more. "The times I come to the other side is mainly for helping poor Rinnosuke out and keep him interested in the items i get. Though my eyes are everywhere in Gensokyo, they are not everywhere outside. I do not know when or what happens at any point...but I say my usual visit to this realm is every once in a while when I have the chance." she waited for Ran to enjoy her meal, treating her to this trip before she dropped the ball for her.
"There is no life outside of the border. Reality is dead say for a very slim selected few who still believe in us or have some hope for the world they live in...yet they also became the very beasts that they drove away years ago. No emotion, no warmth, just cold...lifeless constructs that walk this pathetic planet util fate whisks them away..." she turned to Ran with a very cold yet sorrowful face.
"This is what all Youkai of all kinds left behind...and it could of affected us as well."

The room suddenly got a bit chilly indeed. No one bothered to listen or ease drop, more or less look at them. The people outside the window even walked in droves with only a point A and B. Nothing between them.

"Or I could be spewing what I am thinking now. Who knows how humans act now outside? Let's enjoy ourselves!" she changed the mood again as she took another picture of Ran. 22 left.

Yukari sighed at the idea of even attacking this place. She took a sip of her water, only after taking small snack sized bites of her food. "There is no point at all. Killing the humans have no actual purpose out here. They have grown out of their old ways. I bet right now if you took your hat off-" Yukari removed the hat to expose her ears to the public...and no one even noticed them at all. Yukari then attracted some eyes by laughing hard and loud.
"That's a good joke, my friend!" even slamming on the table...and they all shrugged. It was as if their belief in a real Kitsune was nothing more than just past memories, forgotten in time. Yukari would place the hat back on and smile, as if she was showing she was safe even if she came in with her tails hanging out.
"See? They saw your face and head. They could of seen your ears, but their very way of life has tossed aside such ideals like magic and myth to be concerned about now. Even if we did take them over, why bother? What do we have to gain from killing Trillions of humans all for the sake of creatures. I hate humans as much as you, but when the humans are already dead...there is no fun or reward from it." though once they were finished, Yukari chuckled at her idea to pick something for Chen.
"Well we could pick up something like a brush and paper. All to make this trip more enjoyable."

Yukari walked with Ran down the streets once more. Passing more humans. She continued talking along the way, another lessons to learn.
"Humans thrive on not only the essential cares of food, water and a home but the need a heart. By heart I mean emotions. Like Joy, Sorrow and Fear. These humans are a prime example of ones who have no Fear, who are never happy and never show any tears. They care for only themselves and no one else, not even their own fellow men get respect." she walked and showed the other side of the sidewalk where a human tossed an empty cup to the side. No one bothered to pick it up and do a good deed until-
"Oh? This is rare." Yukari looked down the opposite way as a young girl stood out from the faceless others. Chestnut brown hair, lively blue eyes and a school uniform. She was traveling with a few classmates but halted at the cup. to Ran and Yukari, they could easily hear her comment.
"How can someone be so thoughtless as to litter the street?" she said, finding the perfect bin to toss it with other paper recyclables as well as the plastic top in it's separate slot. Yukari's lips turned into a smile. "As said earlier, there are a few who still believe in us or at least care. Now about that little gift for Chen?" Yukari took another snapshot. 20 left.

Yukari walked a ways down, taking a few more pictures of Ran mostly. "There are exactly no humans who hunt Youkai because those that still reside here have never been seen in years. Like your ears, no one could see them. If a fairy was to fly through now, no one would even notice. Now come." Yukari guided Ran into a small toy shop to pick up a small item for Chen. Though as they continued down afterwards, Yukari looked to Ran with a smile.
"You should not be too worried about the Youkai out here. They are far from these towers and hidden in the fields. Soon enough they will find a way into Gensokyo like the others." Yukari said, taking a picture of Ran with whatever she got for Chen. Why was she taking so many pictures of her in the first place? More so, already 15 of them?
