Ryan Newman screwed over because of Bowyer's most likely intentional spin, even Dale Jr. who was running behind him said it looked strange

What do you guys think about it?

Well if there is something like that it looks like Nascar is looking into it and will not take that crap.

In my opinion, this is huge. NASCAR's credibility and integrity is at stake here. I've been listening to NASCAR radio all day today, and some people are comparing this to the Penn State scandal, the New Orleans Saints Bountygate, or Shoeless Joe Jackson. A few goons have even started comparing NASCAR to Pro Wrestling.

From what I've heard, Clint is guilty as sin, as is Brian Vickers, heck all of MWR. It's going to take an extraordinary piece of evidence to change my mind.

Brian Vickers was forced to pit, not really his fault. He was actually questioning why his team was making him pit from what I heard.

Breaking news: Truex booted from chase, replaced by Ryan Newman

Well either way this has tainted up the sport a bit. I'm quite dissapointed in the MWR guys. But some fans are outraged that Boywer is still in. BTW comparing Nascar to something like the WWE is not even a good comparison. But I think BK says it best here about how I feel

Don't know how to say what I really think about Mwr penalty with out getting in a lot of trouble. Better stay off twitter for awhile...

If I were any of the MWR guys, I'd be watching their backs.

The only person who hasn't recieved any ramification from the spin is Gordon. He WOULD HAVE BEEN IN if it weren't for the spin. He essentially got screwed out of a shot at his 5th championship. I'm glad they did something about the MWR team but it's still affected one more driver. IMO, they need to take Bowyer out of the chase and put Gordon in (Harsh I know, but it's the only thing I can think of)

This is my theory on the penalty: There was a deal between NASCAR and MWR. Why do I say that? What isn't MWR doing right now? Filing an appeal. Truex has been kicked out of the chase costing the MWR millions, Ty Norris has been given an indefinite suspension, 50 point penalties for all three teams plus a $300,000 fine and you're just fine with that?!

I think NASCAR wanted a harsher penalty, but was worried about what could happen during the appeal. I recall NASCAR getting their hand slapped a few times this year in appeals. Do you think that whole process would get wrapped up by this weekend's race? What if it goes to the second appeal? We could be one, maybe two races into the chase when the appeals are done with. What would NASCAR do if the appeals reduces the point penalty enough to let Bowyer and or Truex back in? Re-reset the chase two races in? That would be a catastrophe!

MWR was happy to take the deal because there was no guarantee the appeals process would reduce the penalties, and one driver in the chase is better than none. Overall the penalties are survivable, as NASCAR could have parked the entire organization for the rest of the year.

In exchange for lighter penalties, MWR agreed not to appeal. The penalties are strong enough to send the message that NASCAR won't let any team manipulate races, but not so harsh they could seriously damage MWR. Looking at it through this lens, I'm satisfied with the penalties. The whole purpose for these shenanigans was to get Martin Truex Jr. into the chase, which has been foiled. We can start to move on instead of this getting dragged out in the appeals process and doing terrible damage to NASCAR's reputation in the meantime.

TL;DR - I think there was a deal between NASCAR and MWR, but it's a good thing.

I can't believe it took 10 years for this to happen to be quite honest.

Clint's guilty and refuses to come clean.

I'd be refusing to also

It wasn't his fault in the first place, he was just taking orders. I bet if he knew that if THIS much controversy was going to unfold, he wouldn't have followed those orders. I wouldn't "admit" spinning out intentionally either, because I'd assume Clint is thinking to himself "I got told to do it, so why should I say that I intentionally wrecked, when it wasn't my idea and not in my intentions to do so?"

That's just my view

Yeah it's better if he lays low for now because as soon as he admits he did it intentionally the s**t is gonna hit the fan fast. Shame on MWR for cheating, I know it's not their first time but after a while they need to stop.
