Ice field : The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks

Zinnia pulled her coat around her tighter. She watched her breath fog out before her as she carefully walked up the steps to the trainer's podium. "Let's try to finish this battle quickly, Shadow," Zinnia said before her teeth began to chatter. The less time spent in this ice box, the better.
The mew did not seem fazed by the cold; a combination of fur and exercise would keep her warm throughout the battle.

Sending out Sheoldred, Lenore slipped her hands into her overly large shirt before wrapping them around herself. Oh. As much as she didn't want to expose her arms to the cold, she didn't want to get Erika annoyed with her. Slipping one of her arms back out of her sleeve, she gave a wave to Zinnia. "Good luck." The greeting finished, she slid her arm back into her shirt and sat down, pulling the shirt over her knees.
The metapod simply glared defiantly at the mew, not taking part in the same pleasantries.

Without waiting for instruction from Lenore, Sheoldred immediately went on the attack. Two thin tendrils of blood launched the metapod at the mew, and Sheoldred began biting at whatever she could reach.
Lenore looked on silently, breathing warm air into her shirt.

Zinnia lifted a hand to wave, but she was distracted when the metapod suddenly attacked. How was it moving so fast?! "Ice Beam!" Zinnia shouted, too late. Shadow flinched as razor sharp teeth latched on. A bright blue, shining orb quickly appeared floating above her paw. The mew aimed carefully at the metapod before releasing the beam, hoping it would blast the bug away. [Move used this turn: Ice Beam] [Moves used thus far: Ice Beam] [HP Remaining: 850/1000]

"Fire Blast!" Zinnia shouted. Time to heat things up again. Shadow Mew was prepared this time; she dodged the metapod while another orb, bright red this time, grew larger and larger. "Fire Blast!" Zinnia shouted again. Shadow Mew tried to dodge the metapod, but its leaps were too unpredictable; the sharp teeth grazed her as it sailed by. The blood intercepted the ice, separating from Sheoldred before the freezing could proceed on to her and fell to the floor, shattering. More blood took its place, and the metapod launched at the mew once more.

Shadow Mew dodged the metapod. Her eyes flashed a bright purple for a moment, and frozen chunks of the stadium floor floated up to surround her as if she were a black hole being orbited by doomed, frozen planets.
