Amphi had been doing nothing.
Okay.
Nothing.
She had returned to her spot under the tree where a very important moment in her life happened but she didn't remember because Tear so the tree was not once again a scared hanging out place. Little pieces of paper were stacked around her as well as crayons, markers and some other colorful writing utensils.
But she wasn't doing anything.
Certainly not coloring pictures of what her supposed mom looked like, and father, because if you look at the pictures, they were horrible renditions of a stick figure with some kind of fish tail.
Look she could sing okay, she couldn't draw. Don't judge her.
Currently at the moment though, she was staring out into the distance thinking of Titiana's face.
"I think she had black hair like me!" A black marker was swapped with one of the others as she drew long straight black hair on the picture.

Out for a stroll again, Lou had followed the tree scenario to a 'T', once again toting his umbrella around to help shade him from the annoying sun. Oh, what was this? A familiar mermaid sitting under a familiar tree? Now what was she up to today?
The vampire practically skipped over, his shadow darkening the images as he approached. "Wacha doing there, my super special snowflake ghoul? You makin' pictures?" Mocking her? Yeah, maybe a little, but it wasn't like he could draw much better.

Victoria was out for a stroll float, and had been wandering around aimlessly when she spotted two familiar figures by a tree in the distance. Smiling, she made a beeline for them, pausing in front of the pair to curtsy before tackling Amphi in a hug, laying her head down on the mermaid's chest with an expression of pure bliss.
"Hello Miss Amphi," Her smile widened as she let go, hovering beside her before turning to the vampire, giving his umbrella a curious look before looking at him, "And Sir Lou."

Amphi looked up at Lou, holding the picture up with a serious face. "I'm drawing my mom, and my dad so when I go look for them, people will know what they look like." Amphi sniffed, somewhat pleased that the nickname had evolved from Fish lips to Snowflake.
Even if she didn't know what it meant.
And then there was a Victoria, who recieved a equally tight hug and pats as she laid her head on her boobs.
She didn't know why the ghost liked them so much, but if they made her happy and comfortable.
"Hi Victoria! We were discussing pictures." She held it up again for the ghost to see. "What are you guys wandering about for??"

"Uh huh." He looked over the image and tapped his chin thoughtfully, as if he was taking in the artistic merit of her picture. "It's... Missing something."
And that was when Victoria appeared. "Oh, hey Pipsq-" He had started his traditional greeting with a smile, until she practically felt up Amphi with her face.
Lou's jaw dropped. "... You never let me give you those kinds of hugs."
And then proceeded to pout like a child. "Pipsqueak." He whispered down to her. "Be my wing man. Tell her we deserve equal treatment." Yes, surely his little buddy could aid him in his endeavors. Hell, Victoria could probably get away with murder as cute as she was.
"Oh uh. Just moseying." He acted like the exchange between him and their ghostly companion never happened.

"What is it a picture of?" Victoria looked at the picture, frowning slightly as she tilted her head to the left, and then to the right, trying to make out what it was. When Lou whispered at her, she looked up, and her frown deepened, "But I do not have wings, nor am I a man, Sir Lou..."

"It's suppose to my parents!" Amphi looked at Victoria, "This is my mom, she's a reaper. And my dad, he's a merman." She pointed to the stick figure of a long haired woman, and then to stickfish man that was her dad.
her frown turned up to Lou and back down to the picture, "What? I don't think it's missing something!" She looked harder, "But...if it was missing something....what would it be? And what kind of hugs?"
She focused intently at the picture while Lou and Victoria whispered SECRETS...only to hear wing and man and Victoria had neither nor was either.
"Why do you need a winged man?" yeah Lou, why did you need a winged man.

Why had he expected Victoria to know such terminology? Oh well.
The vampire simply patted her head and smiled. "I don't want a winged man. It's an expression. I'll explain another day."
Lou then turned to Amphi. "As for the picture and the hugs, the best way I can explain is by example." He plucked a marker up off the ground and looked to the ghoul expectantly. "Can I see the picture of your mother?"

Some people don't have parents.
"You have a reaper mother?" Victoria asked, clearly surprised as she stared at the stick figure, frowning a bit as she tried to make sense of it; were Amphi's parents both stick people? A stick reaper and a stick merman, maybe... Do those exist? But Amphi did not look like a stick person to her...
"You do not resemble your parents very much, Miss Amphi," She finally came to that conclusion after staring at the picture for a long period of time, "You're not as stick-ly."
When Lou patted her head, she beamed... Even though she had no idea why she was being praised. She was being praised, right? Nodding like the good ghoul she was, she made a mental note to herself about reminding the vampire to explain what the expression 'winged man' meant.

"I do!" Amphi handed the paper over to Lou, along with the marker, "Okay Lou, Draw what it's missing!" She looked back over at Victoria, "I was in the tear, and a lot of memories I didn't know about came back. I didn't think I had parents. I was told they were just godly like beings or something."
She bit her lip, "My mom was a star reaper, she had lots of stars and stuff. She looks just like me but taller and um....Not blue bangs!" She nodded.
Her frowned deepened.
"But....But I do a lot. I look like my mom but I have all my dad's scale coloring." She blinked, "But...they...are...not...sticks...."
Failure.
She was a failure.
Her eyes started to fill.
"I won't be able to find them if they all think they are sticks!"

Lou felt that the estrogen in the air was reaching suffocating levels.
Trying not to pay attention to the bad scenario as it played out, Lou scribbled quickly on the paper and handed it back to the mermaid.
Apparently what her mother had been missing was huge knockers. "There, it's perfect now."
But apparently Victoria had failed to catch the delicate situation that was playing out, and now... Oh Jack was she going to cry? Lou didn't know how to make these things better. Generally, he only made them worse.
"Well... At least you know you don't have a future career in art?" He cringed and shrugged his shoulders, trying to force a smile. You had to look at the bright sides of these situations, right?
... Right?

"Tear? You mean the one that was in the sky?" Victoria asked, her eyes widening as she gasped softly, "How did you end up there?" Do mermaids have the secret ability of flying? She couldn't really... Remember much about that incident, just that it felt like she was asleep a long time without remembering when she fell asleep.
"Miss Amphi? Miss Amphi, what's wrong?" She was taken aback by the sudden tears, and wasn't sure what she should be doing. An adult! She needs an adult! Quickly turning to the vampire nearby, she stared at him, and practically demanded, "Sir Lou! Do something!"

"The one in the sky." Amphi repeated miserably, looking at the adjustments that Lou made. "Her boobs are not that big...." To be fair, Amphi's mom was lacking in the aspect of boobs actually, she inherited it from her fathers side, because Merpeople were usually well endowed. "But she looks more like me...." She hugged the drawing closer.
"If I can't draw them good enough...." She ducked her head, "I won't be able to find them." She sagged and started to curl into a little ball.
"You're stupid Lou." Obviously this was all Lou's fault...the mermaid let her body slide from her curled position into a ball, and then rolled her way over and behind the tree.
"Stupid Lou." She sniffed.

BUH?
"But... But I didn't do anything!" He looked from Amphi to Victoria and back to Amphi again, completely taken aback. Lou truly hadn't seen that coming. He hadn't been trying to upset her, but... Then again, he really didn't have to try to upset anyone.
Okay. He became silent for a moment, watching the ghoul's silhouette behind the tree. How about this one?
"Well, you don't need parents anyways! I mean, I don't have parents and I'm just fine!" That... That was comforting, right? Right??
The vampire shrugged his shoulders at Victoria. Had he done well? He felt like he had done well. "Pipsqueak, what else should I say?" He whispers in a low tone to her. This was not his strong suite.

And then Lou seemed to have made it worse, although Victoria wasn't quite sure why.
"But..." The ghost's face fell for a brief moment, "... I would like parents too..." She paused, looking terribly dejected as she hovered on the spot, staring at the ground.
"Maybe you could try... Apologizing," She suggested in a small voice.
