Who would of thought flying snake creatures would be so irritating to kill? Tilawen was perched under the out cropping of rock trying to get a good shot at the creature that was flying above her somewhere. Though she had never seen or encountered this creature before she had a feeling that she must of tred too close to a nest sight of sorts as this particular snake thing was rather aggressive and hostile whenever she tried to move through this particular patch of forest.
How irritating.
Blowing out a an exasperated sigh the woman tried to figure out her best options for this situation. After all she didn't need to move through this patch of forest, but it would mean a lot of back tracking as there was a rather large rock wall that she would have to go around if she couldn't go up and over it. Grumbling to herself she wished that the damned thing was slower as each attempt she had at trying to shoot it with her fire magic it easily dodged her attempts.
She had fought things that flew before, but nothing that was quite as sinuous as this creature. It was like trying to blast something that was very slippery in water...except it was in the air. The poor red head tried to aim for its wings to bring it down, you'd think that she would try and not kill it with the vague knowledge that it probably had eggs or a nest of young flying snake things somewhere, but she held very little sentiment for families.
Right now her focus was to try and get out from under that ledge and possibly get past the hissing thing before it noticed. Cocking her head to the side she listed for the sound of wing beats, the creature often stayed aloft in the air almost in a lazy manner as it didn't seem to take much effort for it to stay in the air, so the wing beats were slow with long pauses between each flap.
The idea was to try and sneak past it, but the thing seemed to notice every time she poked her head out. Perhaps she would admit defeat more easily if she wasn't in such a hurry, it would save her so much time to get to Junjie's house if she managed to actually get past this thing than it would be if she headed back down the small mountain. Though the longer she stayed up there trying to figure out how to get around...the most it felt like this was already a lost battle.
One more time, she would try one more time to get past it. Then she would find out what the thing was called and come back and destroy it. A small breath and she slunked out from under the ledge. Pausing as she did so but heard no tell tale signs of the snake beast. Risking a chance to look up she found that the sky was clear and she couldn't immediately spot it hanging out in any of the tree's.
So far...so good.
Inching a little bit further she risked slowly standing up and soon regretted it. A hiss erupted from the ground nearby, apparently the snake thing had decided to rest and wait for her to appear rather than waste energy flapping about looking for it and soon launched itself back into the air and at her face. Giving no sound of alarm the girl only backed up rather hurriedly. Being beaten in the face by wings and fathers as well a face snapping at her with its fanged mouth was enough.
Knowing defeat the young woman stumbled and quickly retreated down the mountain...but she would be back someday to get her revenge.
