He was certainly not getting sick of running around on the outdoor campus grounds as a puppy. Not anytime soon, at the very least, and Erebus was seriously considering implementing a daily run into his schedule. Besides, he needed to build up stamina in preparation for accompanying Tomoko on her quest.
Erebus was perfectly content to slow into a walk after a run around the forest, tail wagging at any students that walked by.

Llyr may or may not have been slightly lost but since he wasn't really paying attention anyway and he didn't really care anyway this hardly mattered in the slightest.
As it was, he was wandering around on campus, trailing long robes along the grass, a vague look on his pale face. He was dressed more regularly than normal in long, tunic-like white shirt and long pants, but the white cloth was still around him rather like a security blanket, and he was dragging it along relatively cheerfully.
He heard a bark and slowed his steps, Llyr glancing around. Just a short distance away there was a small creature, its tail wagging behind it, and Llyr tilted his head curiously, wafting over to look at it more closely.
He wondered if it would let him pet it.

He had intended his bark to be a greeting to the minipet he had seen lurking by a tree trunk, but instead it had been startled and fled upon the noise. Huh. He had thought that maybe since Tomoko had once mistaken him for a minipet, they would be more friendly in this form.
Erebus wondered if he should chase after it; it was really just a puppy's instinct here at this point, if it hadn't been for his ears catching the sound of footsteps in the distance. He lifted his head up to grin at the boil approaching him, tail wagging faster. "Hi!"

Oh it had run away. Llyr watched it with a very disappointed expression on his face, wondering if there were any treats he had that he could lure it out with again...
- but then it came back again, and the look on Llyr's face shifted from saddened to pleased, crouching down to let his gaze wander over its wagging tail and its cheerful face and -
- it was talking to him. Did creatures like this normally talk? Llyr eyed it carefully.
"Hello," he said, after a long (long) moment of silence.

Eh? This boil seemed rather... quiet. Not that Erebus should judge, because he too was awkward around others at times. Instead, he waited patiently, lifting up a hind leg to paw at an itch that had been bothering him.
Oh! He said hello! He let out a happy bark, tail wagging harder. "Hi! My name's Erebus!" At this, he lifted a front paw for a handshake. "Are you new here?"

Llyr wondered whether all the creatures at Amityville could talk like this one could. The little fluffy things in that one dorm room had merely yipped and squealed, but this one was actually saying words.
Llyr was fascinated.
"New..." he murmured, still eyeing the little creature with a look of curiosity on his face. "New..."
It was several more long moments before he spoke again, his voice vague, slightly off-kilter, and sounding as though he weren't paying exactly all the attention he probably should have been.
"Yes. Yes, new. New to here, that is, but not new anywhere else, I believe..."

Erebus tilted his head, wondering if this boil was quite alright. Was he sick? Oh no, did he need the nurse's office?
Well, he certainly seemed as though he had gotten out of bed and simply dragged his sheets along with him, but Erebus was really too polite to ask. If he was wrong, it would sound awfully rude. Maybe he was just shy! After all, he had just gotten to Amityville!
"Oh, you have a lock!" He noted, perking up. "I have a lock too! It's white though." Also, it was on the base of his tail. The last time he tried to show it, he had ended up chasing his tail for a few rounds, and so, Erebus was not about to do that again. Nu-uh.

Oh! It was talking more. Llyr's eyes widened a little, his long, spindly fingers curling around the edge of his robes and pulling them a little further around himself in an almost absent gesture. Somewhere beneath them, a few thin chains clinked together.
He blinked slowly. "A lock..." Llyr murmured, casting a glance downward at his bare chest. The black lock rattled faintly as he moved again, and Llyr passed his fingers across it almost experimentally.
"Yes," said Llyr vaguely, but then he said, in a more substantial tone of voice, "What are you?"

So even the new students had been dragged into that whole mess? Erebus supposed they did need all the help they could get, but anyway, it was all over right? Though giving up memories hadn't exactly been an easy task...
"Oh!" His brown eyes lit up, tail starting to wag happily as he puffed out his chest with pride. "I'm a Cerberus demon. Y'know, like a hellhound, but we don't have three heads like legend depicts us as. I have two brothers though! We're triplets." He really could go on and talk more about his family, because there was nothing Erebus loved more than family history but...
"And what are you?"

The gentle clinking of metal was the only sign that Llyr had moved. He was still staring in fascination at the little creature with its wagging tail and it's bright, cheerful personality and wondering if there was one he could possibly have as a pet.
"...water," said Llyr, after a moment's pause. His hair fell over his shoulder in long, cascading drapes. "Cerberus are very nice."
He reached out a hand and patted the creature's head.
"Nix," he said finally. "I like water."Melodine Cantus I apologize again for Llyr's stupidity i d e

Water? Erebus tilted his head to the side in confusion. No, Cerberus were hellhounds, and that meant fire and hot flames and stuff, not water-- though he did like swimming (especially in puppy form really)...
Oh. He was getting pats! Best part of being a puppy was really getting pats. And ear scratches. And belly rubs... His eyes almost glazed over for a second, the momentum of his tail growing faster. And the boil had said Cerberus were nice.
"Nix." He repeated slowly. "Nix. Oh, like a water demon, right?" Erebus had such a fascination for reading up about other creatures, demons, ghosts, reapers... it was just intriguing to read up the history of all the different species and such. Well, that would explain why he would like water-- "Oh! I still don't know your name though..." kurotomato LLYR I CAN'T p.s. it's ok erebus can be a derp too

Thinking about water made Llyr wish there were some place to swim nearby. Granted, there was a pool already built into his room for his convenience (thankfully), but he gaze wistfully towards the forest as though it perhaps held within it a lake or a river.
Still patting the other's head, Llyr found himself growing quite fascinated with it. It was a shame he didn't have any treats to offer, though...
"Water," repeated Llyr. "Yes. Yes, I like water...and a demon, yes..."
Vaguely he tapped a finger against his knee. "Llyrendil," he said, after a long moment's contemplation. "I believe that's what I am called, at least..."

Llyrendil, huh? At least he now had a name, instead of referring to Llyr as 'that boil that gave nice pats' in his mind. Though on second thought, a lot of creeple gave nice pats so well, uh...
"Have you been to the lake, Llyrendil? It's by the Monster dorms." So was the swamp, but Erebus was not particularly fond of muddy water and all the slime getting into his fur. "There are also springs near the Undead dorms. It's pretty nice there." After all, this boil was new, and he probably hadn't wandered about the campus enough.
Erebus himself had been pretty lost when he had first came here a few years ago.

The Nix had stopped listening after the word lake.
Lake. There was a lake here, a lake, some place he could be underwater, there was a lake here with water and there was some place he could just soak and relax underneath the familiarity of water -
Llyr reached out a hand, eyes wide.
"Can you show me this lake?"

Oh. So he hadn't known that there was a lake? Well, that could be remedied immediately! "Of course." Erebus said warmly, nosing his hand, and then trotting towards the direction of the monster dorms.
Along the way, he glanced back every now and then to make sure that Llyrendir was following, and on the fifth time he resumed looking in the direction he was walking in, the lake had come into view. "There." Erebus said, tail wagging again, and it was because he had helped a new student! "It's pretty nice, really."
