Out of the pod room and into the frying pan, so to speak.
Quietly, and with still a mild retention of nausea and aches, Abbi followed the two girls from the pod room toward... Wherever it was they were taking her. Supposedly it was on an informational tour, but the teen wasn't so sure how informative it all would be for her. Not that she doubted her companions, of course. They were ridiculously pretty, the both of them, even if one had a bandage on her eye, they still were really cute. Which was completely and utterly unfair. Having not yet grown into her nose and feeling like a perpetual ugly duckling, it seemed a cruel twist of fate that two such lovely creatures would be the ones to awaken Abbi. Maybe, a more hopeful, eager for change part of her piped up, maybe this was a sign! That they would lend some of their sweetness and beauty to the young girl and help transform her. Maybe they really were her fairy godmothers!?
But that was really off track from what Abbi had originally meant to think. Back on track, she wondered how much information she'd be able to retain given how drowsy she felt. This whole wake up thing was pretty awful...

And her memory felt really fuzzy too. Some things before today made sense, all the memories of home and her parents and siblings and school were all there. They remained stark and vivid, very far away perhaps, but still there. But the day she left home, the day she'd written a note to her parents and walked out of the house with her gigantic suitcase in tow... The only thing she remembered after that was getting on the train. Everything else was... Black.
But if she concentrated, following the two girls slowly, Abbi could remember... Some sort of... Task. A test. Something painful and harsh, the distinct feeling that she would not pass still lingering. But there had been others there, some that had helped her and some that had tried to hurt her.
Or had that been a bad dream?
"Is my memory supposed to be this fuzzy? I don't remember coming to this... This place." Hadn't there been a ride over? Wouldn't she have remembered actually getting into that pod? Why couldn't she recall anything?
Why did she feel so gross ughhhhh

Nevada looked over her shoulder at Abbi.

"You might not. It's a memory I am not sure if you want to remember. Once you were recruited, you were put through a trial to see if you were strong enough to be a hunter." She looked back to the hallway. "Out of whoever you were with, you were one of the strongest, otherwise they wouldn't have podded you."

She started to search through her pockets, pulling out of her left one a small wrapped candy.

"here, this won't help much, but It'll get your body a little sugar to help the blood cells wake up. I think I was quesey for a couple of hours after waking. Then I kind of....napped it off." She smiled over at Stormy.

Stormy eyed the candy before giving Nevada a faux hurt look. What was that where did you get it from are you hiding things.

"Side effects, yeah," she added as they walked. "Like Nevada said, basically you were a strong enough candidate to get picked. All that stuff you might remember later, you did it in something called a golem: think like a fake body, hence the fullbody suit and gear and all. At the end, the golem tricked you into thinking you were dying, right before you were podded; that's how they make you more receptive to weapons."

Pause.

"Uh, I hope that's not too much right now," Stormy said sheepishly.

A bit drunkly the teen staggered after the two girls, trying to breath deeply through her nose. If she does that, maybe she won't hurl everywhere. That would be so, so bad and the worst impression and oh god she needed to stop thinking.
Though their words are a difficult thing to imagine, they make sense in the strangest sort of way and Abbi nods. Alright... A trial, that seemed... Totally likely. Sure, why the hell not.
"Must have been a pretty bad group they put me in if I made it out..." She spoke up with a self deprecating laugh. There seemed little possibility that she had really done anything to impress anyone, even if she couldn't remember whether that was true or not. But failure was easier to buy into than success in a long line of lackluster performances, so Abbi only continued to look down at her feet in confusion, those deep breaths not really helping all that much.

The presentation of candy causes an unexpected reaction in the teen. Sure she would have stuck her funny nose up in the air before, once the brunette really does offer her food, Abbi takes it with a nearly desperate pluck of the plastic between her fingers. The nausea increases only until she's unwrapped the candy and the moment she pops it into her mouth she's fine. The sweetness washes away the sour taste between her teeth and she gives a small, bashful grin to the girl.
"Thank you... I uh... I am really sorry but... Your names again?"

All the talk of golems and fake dying and trials threatens to make her head swim again, but Abbi is good and concentrates on lightly chewing the candy for a second.
"Ok... That kind of makes sense... Uh... What now? Where to next? I'm guessing this isn't some rinky dink set up." It couldn't possibly be, not with all those human sized pods and golems and stuff.

Maybe a piece of candy found it's way to Stormy too since the girl looked like Nevada had punched her favorite kitten or something.

She popped one in her mouth, rolling the candy around before snorting. "It makes you wonder the group I was put with as well. Most of my memories are very....ruthless. And Cold." She looked over to Abbi, reaching over to pat her on the head. "Regardless, you survived, and you're here now. This is a bit easier and so much harder than the trials. Not to scare you." She teased.

"Is that what those golems were for?" She turned her gaze over to Stormy before adding. "Huh, well then."

"I'm Nevada." She eased again, laughing. "Think the state. Las Vegas. Nevada." She added, "And I have a twin named Alaska."

"Well right now we are taking you to the cove, for you to meet your weapon. After that, we can give you a tour of the Island? Before sending you on your way to get your dorm."

Stormy made a note that the punched my favorite kitten face worked for future reference.

Sucking on the candy gratefully, she let Navada talk for a bit as she tried to remember how much information was too much at this point, and not at all mention her own time in the trials, which was probably horrific and blocked out for the most part (and probably for the best while they were at it). Now, she remembered how dizzying it had been for her when she woke up, and with the power out it probably was even more confusing to the new hatchlings . . . "Confidence," she told Abbi with a smile and a wink. "You made it because you had it in you to; just gotta find it again! And you will! I have confidence in sunshine ~ I have confidence in rain ~ ♪ "

Oh, it was good to sing!

"Call me Stormy," she chirped. "Don't worry, you're in the very capable Mist Sister Bestie Twins' hands~ Well I'm not Alaska but, like, you know, not blood related twinsies!" That was totally a thing. "We'll explain you a thing later, but like Nevada says, Cove first! You'll have a quick chat with your weapon and come back, and we'll show you around and stuff until we get to your room--there you'll find a coat telling you your division, yaaaaay~"

The comment about her lackluster group had not been meant as a conversation starter, but it seemed to have been one and no matter how groggy she was, Abbi was not missing this opportunity.
"Ruthless and cold? What do you... I can't remember anything... So I'm kind of grasping for straws here." It was a bit difficult to believe that the girl with the eye patch had had a difficult time during her training. And while the shorter haired girl said it dealt with confidence, Abbi wasn't so convinced.
The song, however, did make her crack a small smile.
"I... Think I know that song?" And she surprised herself by actually laughing. Even if she couldn't remember it, the song sparked a bubbly sort of feeling that was definitely welcome.

"OK. Nevada... Stormy... Wait Alaska? Those two are like... Not even close but uh, ok. Identical twin or fraternal?" Yes, asking the important questions here. And, since it was apparent by their speech that Stormy wasn't the twin, Abbi only nodded with a small smile at the two. She had never had the distinct pleasure of being close enough to someone else to want to call them her twin, so she could only wistfully stare at the girls and hope she could be even half as close with them as they were with the other.
But woah woah woah.
Abbi stopped on the path and rose a single finger into the air.
"Weapon? What do you mean... Weapon? And a coat? Dorms I get ok cool but divionssss? What are... Those?" Uhhhhh explanation plox?
