This was an awful idea.

It didn't matter that Amityville was the most renowned school in Halloween and that getting accepted into it should have been a point of pride. It didn't matter that his parents had had a point when they'd said Jory needed to get out more and make some friends. It really didn't matter that his new form was actually pretty damn nice and not at all what he'd been expecting.

None of that mattered, because Jory was convinced that leaving the Lake in pursuit of knowledge, or companionship, or even freedom was an absolutely horrible idea.

He was currently standing I'm the doorway to his dorm with his suit case sitting beside bare feet as he stated forlornly in at the spacious living quarters and attempted to find something wrong with them.

The fact that there was in fact nothing worth complaining about was somehow worst, and he let out a defeated sorry of sigh as he bent to grab his suitcase handle again.

So, since returning from the land beyond(because what other name could it have) and forgetting goodness knows what. She certainly couldn't remember, so it wasn't important, Simply was back to her old joyful, and overly happy self!

Which was great for her. Possibly dangerous for everyone else.

She'd taken time to review and ensure her favourite locations had made it back to the rebuilt world(they had) and making sure Croaka-Cola still tasted right. It did as well. Excalibur was really on top of things. And the world hadn't imploded again yet. This was another reason to rejoice! She'd found many really. So in short. A certain werefox was just so very happy, full of joy, and in general... the exact opposite of that rather forlorn looking figure in the entryway.

Simply paused as she let the door she'd just entered the dorms through close quietly behind her and surveyed the figure. Male. Definitely a guy. And fishy. He also looked very fishy.

"A very fishy boil!" She exclaimed all to cheerfully, a bit of a sing song tone to her voice as she moved forward, circling him idly with her tail flicking. Cuitcase? "Coming or going? Coming of course, right? Since I've never seen you!" She then, finally noticed that he didn't look to happy. "Lost? It's not that big, and you're probably in the wet place... I think it was..." And then she looked as lost as he likely felt, merely looking to the ceiling as her hand lifted to point left, then right, then back outside. "I think... that way?" Wait, no maybe it was... hmmn... "OH WELL! HI!"

At least he could count that she'd remembered to say hello. It was more than a lot of people got. He'd even gotten to keep his personal bubble. For now.

The exclamation had Jory flinching in anticipation of some sort of incoming blow, and she turned very wide, very puzzled eyes on the werefox as she began moving towards him. "Hi." He croaked, not at all sounding as if he was happy to have a ghoul circling him. It seemed vaguely predatory, and the Afanc's shoulders crept up in an anxious hunch as she began questioning him.

"Coming." He answered her promptly, if a little unwillingly, voice cracking just a little bit. "L-lost?" He blinked at her, eyes darting down to his suitcase, sidelong towards his open dorm, then back to the ghoul now standing in front of him. "No, not lost. I found my room." Wet place? Pale brows dipped as she rolled her eyes to the ceiling, then pointing in quite a few contradictory directions.

If either of them was lost, it was her..

"I'm not lost.." He tried again, frowning at her, then flinching again when she gave him an extremely enthusiastic greeting. "Hi." His voice was on the verge of being a panicked whine.

Wow, this guy needed to loosen up. Or at least maybe try to. Or he'd have some serious back issues in his future. Well that was what she thought anyway. Still, she couldn't help the happy noise quite like a chirp at getting a response from him. And he was even coming, which meant he was definitely new to the dorms. "Then welcome!" She added, tilting her head as he stated he wasn't lost. "Luuuucky~ It took me a while to find mine, but it was worth it." She left out that sometimes she didn't find it if she was too tired. But then, that was what chairs were for. Great for napping, and- well no one really minded.

Their dorm was pretty laid back. At least in her opinion. "So then, you're new if you're still moving in?" She added, finally pausing in her circling to lean over toward his suitcase, curious. "Need help moving it, or do you got that too?" Since he wasn't lost. You know. "I haven't gotten to see the fishy rooms before. Do you get pools?" She imagined they did, which was nice. An indoor pool to swim in and play in. Yep, she had a rather unrealistic view of what the poor boils room might be like, but then she wasn't one to get upset even if it wasn't what she'd pictured in her head.

"Hey, want to show me?" She added, turning at that point and moving to throw an arm around his neck, a friendly gesture. And partially to keep him from running in the opposite direction. He really seemed like he wanted to vacate the area. "I can even help unpack if you want!" Hopefully Jory realized something. That this wasn't an offer, but a declaration of what she intended to do. With flashier words put in place. "It'll be fun!" A pause. "Oh! Right! And I'm Simply, who're you?" Names were always an afterthought.

Long ears drooped a bit at her welcome, and his head tipped a little to one side, turning so he was watching her more from the side then straight on. He gave the interior of her dorm a fleeting glance before returning his attention the fox ghoul. She was certainly energetic. Almost alarmingly so. He was having a hard time figuring out how best to handle her, though he suspected maybe that had more to do with her unpredictability then his own, admittedly weak, coping ability.

At her confession to having had trouble finding her dorm room he flicked his eyes back up at the number embossed on his door, and one snowy brow rose incredulously.

She was moving right along though, so there was no time to comment, and he find himself swept up in the strong tide of her energy and curiosity. So many questions were being fired off at him that he was having a difficult time properly processing them before trying to force out an answer. :"Help? M-maybe? I mean.. " He blinked at her rather helplessly. "Fishy rooms?" Pool? He glanced into his room again. There didn't appear to be a pool. At least not one that was easily spotted. "I don't think.."

The arm around his neck earned her a startled grunt and he instinctively jerked against the hold, but since she'd been ready for it did him little good. After the initial bid for freedom failed he settled, seeming to resign himself to the inevitable. "I guess, if you want." Did he have a choice?

Was it really so bad if he let the pretty ghoul give him a hand unpacking?

"Jory," he offered after a small pause, and there was an accepting softness to his voice that made it just a touch calmer.

Did anyone ever have a choice when Simply got an idea into her head? The answer, of course, was no. It was a brilliant plan and everyone was going to enjoy it. Which was why the poor boil was stuck with his over the top welcome to the dorms. Even if the ghoul's face had twisted into one of some confusion. "Hah... you'd think they might..." She mused a moment before shrugging. "Cause you know, with you all liking water and such, right?" There was no hesitation in the sense of worry he might be offended with the stereotype, but... he did look like he'd enjoy a swim in a pond?

Probably?

At least as much as she liked rolling around in leaves under the moonlight and such. Oh, but that was a nice night. She'd have to make time for another romp outside soon. In the meantime though. "Oh well, I'm sure it'll be home-y either way. Soon you won't even notice the difference!" She added, tugging him along after reaching out to hook his suitcase. Unpacking and moving in was a fun event, but only if one kept the stuff.

And Jory wouldn't be upset, he wanted help after all! Right? "It's good to meet you, you know if you have questions you can ask me anytime! You'll see soon, Amity is really fun!" Like the time the shadows showed up and attacked at the maul, and there was that time the world tried to end, an- "You'll have so many adventures!" Hopefully Jory liked a bit of chaos?

"But fiiiirst, let's make sure you have somewhere to sleep, eh?" She paused briefly. "You're sure you don't need a pond?" She was squinting at him a bit, curiously. Honestly, she could have sworn.. but if he said he didn't have one or need it... but a pool would have been cool.

"Do you think they'd let me put one in my room?" That sort of seems like a fun idea.

"Maybe?" He offered, not entirely sure what he was answering, but feeling that some sort of reply was required for this instance. "I mean yes, I like water, but a pool for a room?" Was that even a thing? If it was, was that something he should want? Wouldn't his clothes get all wet?

He was worrying for no reason. Now wasn't the time. Not when there was an easily distracted ghoul holding him hostage in his own room. There was minimal flailing when she dragged him along by the neck, and any protests he might have been able to make went out the window when she hooked his suitcase and pulled it along with her.

Once they were fully inside he gave an experimental tug at her arm, trying to free himself. "Yes, very nice to meet you." His voice was a touch strained, but she probably wouldn't notice. Later he'd be thankful for the help and the instant friendship, but right that moment the afanc was feeling a touch overwhelmed by everything that was going on. "I'll take your word for it," he squeaked out, voice cracking, as she mentioned fun and adventures in the same light.

Question of sleeping arrangements had him pointing towards the bed that was straight across from them, and he gave Simply's arm another hopeful tug. "I think we've got that covered, the bed will be fine." She was really hung up on this pool idea! "I.. I don't know?"

"Um? If you let me go we can start unpacking?" He wasn't sure how he felt about having a ghoul going through his stuff, but he had also realized the inevitability of his situation. Besides, if the ghoul was busy going through his bag, she wasn't strangling him.
