Isidore looked around the church and smiled up at Eir.
"Thank you for your help Eir, it looks perfect." They had managed to decorate the crumbling church with flowers of bright colours and even some candles. It looked beautiful, a fitting tribute for the souls that they planned to bring to it. He looked down at Scim, the grim was pacing up and down the aisle of the church, seemingly nervous about something. Isidore wasn't nervous any more, he knew this was going to work and it was going to be perfect. Really, what could go wrong, all he had to do was to wait for his sisters and the congregation to arrive.

Alva watched from outside as people began to wander down the path from the town and into the church, there were just a few at first, but then more came, families, friends. Knowing what she did about the state of the many worlds there would be a lot who wished to morn those they had lost. She moved off her perch and wandered down the path with some of them. Half listening to their conversations. She really hoped for the sake of the children that this would work.

She stepped through the arch of the door and walked up to Isidore, he seemed to be pretty proud of himself.
"Well, it seems to be working."

Kyrie had been back at her room making sure that Maggie was well taken care of. She did not know how long this funeral event was supposed to last, so she wanted to be sure she would have everything she would need for a few hours at the least. She had been on her way to the old church when the first of the crows appeared. They called out to her, telling her that they had been successful in finding lost souls and that those souls were on their way now. She thanked them and picked up her pace to hurry along to the church. The amount of people that were making their way towards it gave her cause to pause for a brief moment. Excitement ran through her small body. People were actually coming! This was going to be so perfect. Before she joined the people, more crows arrived with the same news as the others who were taking light on the trees and church. One of them flew down to rest on her shoulder. Reaching up to pet the old crow, she joined the people entering the church and easily found her brother.
"They're coming Isi!" she called out to him before coming to a stop before him and Alva. "The spirits, they are on their way."

"Thank you. We all did an amazing job." She had no idea the broken down church could look this amazing with just the smallest bit of care. Perhaps getting it restored would not be a bad idea, if they were to do this often ?

There had not been time to think about that. Isidore and Valyrmora's confidence had lulled her into a false sense of security - what could go wrong at this point ? They totally had this !

It was good to actually be doing what she meant to be doing, even if it was not exactly in the same way she used to.

Hrist was not as confident as her sister - she was leaning back against once of the benches, watching Scim pace back and forth. He clearly could tell something they didn't...

Hopefully, whatever happened, they could deal with it.

Caelia would not have thought that so many people would come. She was just as excited and amazed as her sister, and she was running about, making sure everything was nice and ready, in lack of anything else to do.

They so had this ! And if they could keep doing this, then their dad could have the help he needed ! She rightened one last flower bouquet before rushing back to her brother. "Is there anything else we need to do before everyone is here, Isi ?"

This was his area of expertise, after all. She was quite out of her own, after all, though if she had taken the time to watch the birds this morning, she might have realized that not all was as it seemed.

They meant well. Of course they meant well - but the three of them had no idea what they were messing with.

Echo did. She had stared down the glare of angry dead that would have ripped her to pieces if they had gotten the chance. Maybe she was worrying for nothing. Maybe she was paranoid.

But better paranoid than sorry. She stepped inside the church carefully, holding the hem of her skirt - a mortal among many other in appearances, her long black hair pulled up in intricate coils, dressed in black as so many others were. Black was the color of mourning for so many cultures, after all.

Sanngrigor was watching the congregation with the suspicion of a nightclub bouncer eyeing a queue of drunken punters. She was as uneasy as Hirst, though she was sure it seemed like a perfectly good idea, she was also sure they had not thought of the worst case scenario. Still, it would be best to be ready just incase the worst should indeed happen.

"I think we have everything." Isidore said proudly, placing his hands on his hips in what he would consider an adult gesture. "We will start when all the seats are full." he wanted things to be just right for when the spirits arrived, they needed the ceremony to be under way in order to calm them. He breathed deeply and looked up at the sky visible through the hole in the roof. Well, wether they were wrong or right they were going to find out soon.

Val watched Scim pace and followed Isidore's gaze up. She hoped that she would be able to feel them when they came. She knew she could sense the spirits but not as whole as she once had been able of course, they were disturbances in the air, almost easy to miss if you were not paying attention, she looked between the three Valkyries and their varying degrees of concern, hoping they were ready for what was to come.

Cosine would have laughed if she had known her surrogate sister was close by. She should really have sensed her mana, though her mind was on other things, namely her crazy children. She followed the crowd and moved to take a seat next to a woman in black. She to in mortal disguise, she watched her children then glanced around. As she looked to her left she studied the woman, there was certainly something familiar. She smirked as suddenly she sensed the mana of the beautiful goddess.
"So which genes does this need for chaos come from? I'm going to blame the Underworld."

Kyrie reached out to take her sister's hand in both excitement and nervousness as their brother declared everything in its place and ready to receive their guests of honor. They had all gotten into mischief in one way or another before, but they had never concocted anything quite so elaborate and actually managed to pull it off without parental discovery. She glanced around briefly to see if she recognized any faces amongst the mourning crowd, but there were none. Feeling an iota of disappointment that her new friend had not been able to make it, it was quickly shoved aside when her crow friend on her shoulder shifted uncomfortably and gave a loud caw right in her ear. Reaching up, she petted him gently to soothe him and she looked to her brother.
"Tell us how to help you with the ceremony Is. Where do you need Cae and I to be when you start?" she asked and squeezed her sister's hand gently.

Eir would settle back as well when Isidore deemed everything to his liking. All they had to do was wait, then, though by the look of it, it might not take all that long. People seemed curious, at the very least, and they all knew what it was to lose someone. Who had not lost someone during Gehenna ?

Hrist remained right where she was, but her gaze crossed Sann's from a moment. She seemed to think much like she did, that they all might be in much more trouble than she thought. She nodded to her sister silently then resumed her watch.

Caelia would hold onto Kyrie's hand for much the same reason her sister took hers in the first place. What if it didn't work ?

Well, dad always said that the important thing was to try, so they had to do that, at least. If it didn't work, then they could think up something else. "Yeah, what do you need us to do, Isi ?" Better to get that shorted out before they started. She would be little help with the spirits, but maybe there was something else she could do ?

It would take a moment for Echo to realize just who had taken place beside her, and she smiled. "Definitively." At least she was content to think this much. Her own children had not been much better, save for Akakios who had been a very withdrawn child, but seemed to be making up for it tenfolds now.

((sorry about yesterday Zero-chan >> totally forgot it was my friend's 30th Bday and we went out for a meal.))

Sann returned her sister's look and unfolded her arms. It was just a case of waiting and watching they would need to be ready to move fast, it wouldn't be good to keep a large amount of spirits waiting.

Isidore looked up to the sky again and nodded to himself. Well, now was the time.
"We need to start the ceremony. We need to sing a song to remember the dead." He wished that Kios wasn't so busy he would have been perfect, it would be a lament after all. He moved to the front of the congregation and took a deep breath, it was a little scary, there were lots of people there and he felt very small in front of them.
"Um, thank you for coming everyone, we would like you to join us in remembering those that you have lost and that have been lost. We would like to remember them with a song." It seemed as good as any prayer.

Alva and Valyrmora watched the little god as he stood before the people and spoke, not a child in the way he conducted himself or the way he spoke. Host and goddess could feel the atmosphere in the church, the expectation, the hope and the grief. Alva closed her eyes and listened as Isidore began to sing, a simple song of rememberence he must have heard from somewhere.

They're coming

Valyrmora said to her and Alva knew they were about to find out if this whole plan was going to work.

Kyrie nodded in agreement with her brother that it was time to get things started. Tugging Caelia's hand, she led her up closer to the front so they could be near their brother in a show of support. Looking out over the crowd of people, she listened to his simple introduction, and then breathed in deeply. Keeping her mouth shut to not ruin the song with her cawing, she joined in in her silent way. As they sang, the old crow on her shoulder suddenly took flight and she looked up as there was a light rush of wings. Visible through the hole in the ceiling, she could see her crows fluttering back and forth with agitation. There were definitely more of them there than there had been before they had entered. Even though she could not see them, she could feel their presence and she could feel their restlessness. Holding her sister's hand a little tighter, she continued to sing the song to the end though her nerves seemed to be building.

((How dare you have a life Medea, for srs. >( /sarcarsm off heart ))

They were here. She could feel this much, at least. And they seemed quite... restless.

Suddenly Eir was not so certain about their success rate.

This might be bad. This might indeed be really, really bad. These souls weren't calm, not at all. She could see them, the spirits, and she looked back at Alva - rather, at her lady. She kept herself ready to act if something happened, because acting first might only make things worse.

She would sing with everyone else, though not as nicely as her brother did - singing certainly was not one of her talents, especially when said song was meant to be calm and soothing. But Caelia tried - oh, she tried as hard as she could, poured her whole heart into it.

But the air seemed so... so heavy all of sudden, in a way that she could not truly understand, and even less try to explain. When she felt Kyrie's hand tightened around her, she gave her sister a worried glance. "I-Is that supposed to happen, Isi... ?" Caelia whispered.

She did not like this. She did not like this at all !

Music's perception of the death had always been limited to Nergal's presence or his intervention, so Echo was fairly certain than if she could feel this, everyone else did. The gathered crowd certainly did look worried, and she glanced at Cosine in a much similar fashion. "This is not good."

She was fairly certain they would need to step in.

"Crap." Sann muttered under her breath as the tension in the air electrified, she knew this hadn't been the best idea. She straightened and wondered if they would be able to wrangle the spirits to a soul path just the three of them. "What do we do? She asked, they had been in the game longer than her, surely they would know...?

Alva swallowed hard as the Valkyries looked to her with a hint of expectation, she didn't know what to do and she had to wonder if her goddess would remember. These things were patchy at best.
"Can we get them to a soul path?" Val asked, wishing as she seemed to every day that she was not completely powerless. She specialised in the restless but in mortal form she had no power to deal with them.

Isidore finished his song and looked up, they were certainly here, he could feel their excitement and anger, see them almost as they came into the building, attracted to the crowds and the song. This was not quite what he had imagined, he felt the panic set in then, his dad was going to be so mad. He looked to his sisters and then to Scim who was barking up at the spirits.
"I didn't expect them to be like this." He said softly.

Thanks to the hint of Ankou's mana Cosine had absorbed increased her perception of the spirits, something she had never experienced before. She could by no means see them as clearly as her son, but there was defnitely something there she would not have been able to see before, like Alva it would appear as a stirring in the air, like ripples in a pond. She looked to Echo and nodded in agreement.

"We could calm them." She knew the power of 2 would go some way to help, and surely music would be able to calm them. "Or try at least." They would have a better chance then the Valkyries or her children.

Kyrie fluffed her feathers and shifted her weight from foot to foot. Like her sister, it was hard to explain the heaviness she felt and the agitation of her feathered kin seemed to make it worse for her. She looked around at all of the tense expressions now worn by the gathered mourners and she realized that everyone had felt the shift in the air within the church. Stepping closer to her brother, she reached out to rest her hand on his arm.

"Keep going Isi. You are Funeral. You can help them find rest and give these people peace of mind. You can do this Isi. We believe in you, don't we Cae?" she urged quietly. "Just keep going. We are here by your side."

"I'm not sure I can control them all." Hrist would admit. Not in the state they were now. Calm spirits were easy enough to guide, it was when they grew angry that it became a problem. Eir's hold on her powers was too tentative to be much help, and Sann... Well, Hrist did not know for certain.

"I can try." What else could she do ? "Stay back. Make sure they can't get hurt." The three children, of course.

Eir nodded and fell back, trying to cut direct access to Isidore. It would not help much if the spirits decided to lash out, but it was a barrier at least.

The only thing she could do was do the same as Eir did and fall back. "Ky's right, Isi. If you can calm them, their Hrist can take care of them." He was the only one who could make it happen, Caelia knew this. So she would do the same as Eir and protect him as long as she could.

But how was she supposed to protect her brother from something she couldn't even see ?

"Yes, we should." They had probably learned their lessons. Hopefully.

It was easy enough - Echo started to sing and her voice filled the air, gentle and sweet.

Sann followed her sisters in moving to at least attempt to protect the children, the congregation were looking worried now too which only added to the spirits frustration.

Isidore looked to the Valkyries and then his sisters, they were all expecting him to be able to control things, suddenly he could understand the job his father had and why it took so much of his time and energy, how could he calm all of those spirits. The little god closed his eyes and tried to concentrate, searching within himself for something, anything had to be better than nothing.

Alva watched everyone with a slight horror of one who knew there was little they could do to improve the situation. Somewhere off in the crowd she could hear the most beautiful song. It sounded sweet and melodic, calming,, relaxing.
"Can anyone hear that?" She asked.

Cosine followed Echo's lead, her own power more subtle in its working, she took a deep breath, grounded herself and concentrated on the power of two. She sent it out to the congregation and up to the spirits that swirled above them. Joy, that they were destined for something more than their current existance, hope.

Kyrie stayed by her brother with her hand on his arm to show him that she was not leaving his side for anything. She had complete faith in him. He was so clever and he understood things the best out of the three of them. Besides, this was his purpose, his domain. She had laughed at the rituals that mortals used to find peace, but now she understood them. Everything had its place and purpose and the rituals were in place to show the spirits they were loved and thought of while giving the living peace of mind and closure. Watching this process in conjunction with what she had already learned, she truly began to understand how important her brother was.

The song caused her to look out over the congregation. She could hear it as if the body the voice belonged to was standing right beside her. It was beautiful. She could feel her nerves begin to subside and then she felt a small shift in the oppressive atmosphere around them. Things didn't feel quite so heavy all of a sudden and the anxiety seemed to ease greatly. Not knowing that the two goddesses were in the audience, she turned her attention back to her brother. Surely this was his doing, she thought proudly.

Hrist had no idea what was happening, and who was behind it - but she wasn't about to argue against her lucky stars, or argue against it. "Eir ! Sann ! Now !"

She grabbed at the spirits while they were placated and started running. Her sisters could handle whatever she might lose in the way. As long as she got them though the soul path before this wore off, then they would be fine.

"Hrist !" That was dangerous, but what else could they do, honestly ? It wasn't like they could send them here ! The redhead took off running after her sister, doing her best to control what she could.

"It's working ! Isi, it's working !" Much like Kyrie, Caelia was convinced that this was her brother's work. What, or who else could it be, after all ?

At least the oppressive presence she felt was gone, so Augury could only assume it was working. Still, she wouldn't move from cutting direct access to her brother, just in case there were still some lingering. Like a tiny, worried, clueless warrior princess.

If something still happened, she would find a way to deal with it.

Well, that seemed to have brought the valkyries the edge they needed, at the very least. The important thing was that no one got hurt, though there was still a lesson to be learned.
