The Bahari'mtoto have extended the olive branch to their newly discovered cousins. As the island dwelling lions sought assistance and refuge following the tsunami, they have been embraced as Bahari and provided with the necessary supplies in order to survive. However, in order to foster good will and to bridge the gap between these new family members and those who reside in the Bahari'mtoto, it has been decided that a gathering should be held.
An opportunity to tell a few stories, regale tales from one another's history and more importantly, a chance for these SoA to meet and become acquainted.
During this period, food in the form of game from the borders and fish have been supplied by the hunter; and all members have been invited to participate, including the cubs.

[RULES] 1. If you own someone in this family already you are more than welcome to roleplay but you cannot win another cub; sorry. 2. Please follow the rules of the guild, shop and honour/daisy code. 3. This cub has to stay in Bahari'mtoto Lands with his/her family. 4. ANY lion can participate (see below for details on rogues)
[HOW IT WORKS] 1. Each post counts towards a ticket at the end of this meta. Winner(s) will be rolled at the end and quoted. Play nice and be a good sport if you do not win. 2. This is a story telling competition, centring around myths (especially the stars) and legends. 3. Your SoA can be as outrageous as you like, anything really awesome can even be added to the lore and background of the Bahari if you would like! 4. You can team up or work with other people to tell your story if you would like, you don't have to tell one all on your own.
[ROGUE SOA] Any SOA can participate in this event, however it's important to realise why they might be in the Bahari'mtoto - if anything consider it like a tourist attraction (beach etc). Why? Because they don't tolerate violence, you can celebrate alongside the Bahari and their new family, but don't be mean!

This lovely cub has been kindly donated by Tara and because of that, we're going to provide you with some information on the family and the type of life this little cub can expect!
Please see below for all the details. n_n
About the Mother Star was born and raised in Tuait'tekem with a huge family of over eight cubs. Because of her fur Star knew she was different from the rest of her family making her always believe that she had been adopted. As time passed, Star grew more quiet and distant never once voicing her fears or thoughts of why she was different. It had festered to the point that home wasn't home anymore. Opportunity came in the form of a lioness, an outcast, wanted to start a new life as well as pride by wandering around the rogue lands to scope out single males. And so Star left her family as well as her home to travel the rogue lands with Hada. One night they had been trying to escape horrible weather when a herd had separated them both. Traveling alone was difficult especially for one so young and inexperienced.
About the Father Lan'tis had grown with no family and had been abandoned to the wilds of rogue lands. As he grew the pull of being part of a unit or pride had become too much to ignore. So he appealed to those of Tuait'tekem to allow him into their world. Ironically enough during this time Star or Lan'tis had not run into one another. He had been their sometime before he started noticing a problem, and that problem had forced him to leave. When the beginnings of water droughts started popping up Lan'tis had warned some of his fellow pride members, but they had chosen not to listen. He wasn't getting any younger and he sure as heck didn't want to die at this age. Life was becoming too difficult for comfortable living and so he left for the rogue lands sadden hearted.
How they Met One night in rogue he had just settled down when the sound of fighting disturbed his rest place. Curious and cautious Lan'tis stealthfully went out the back in order to climb to a higher position. Wide blue eyes took in the battle of a female lioness and a hyena. Both opponents looked exhausted. This wouldn't do in Lan'tis' mind. It couldn't be helped that he had a strong sense of right and justice. Looking back at the once tense situation, Star had said his roar had shook the lands that night and his appearance from above had given him a mythical quality. It was from that point on that their journey together had begun. Once the battle had ended they tentatively got to know one another. A year later they had mated and Lan'tis had heard of a pride called Bahari. It appealed to both of them by the tales of beautiful waters and earth much like that of the dawnwalkers. He convinced Star to come with him to live in a pride once more. Once they had been accepted they began to build a home by the shore in a cave.
The visitors had been rather unexpected - in fact, it had come as a surprise to all of those in the Bahari'mtoto to find out that the islands even existed! Whatever entity had deemed it appropriate to shroud these islands from view for so long, had now decided that enough was enough, and it was time for them to 'rejoin' society. Granted, the terms in which the islands had been forced to rejoin had not been pleasant, and Ram had received the grim news with a somewhat weary, but very sympathetic heart.
Alas, it had been the tsunami, something the Bahari had recovered from, that had ravaged these islands. They had fought to survive for a considerable amount of time on their own, but in the end these islands had simply been unable to provide for them. Thus, it had been on a fabled day, no more than three days past, that these brave souls had made their way across the sandbars towards the coastal lions and their home. Admittedly their welcome hadn't been ideal, the incredulous expressions had been somewhat embarrassing for the leader of the pride, but in the end it had to be expected...
After all, how long had it been that they had been out there?
Nevertheless, the coastal islands were quickly embraced into the fold, though one matter still needed to be addressed... The Bahari needed to become accustomed to their new family and vice versa; they needed to get to know one another, they needed to know where they came from and their traditions. Thus, the ruler of the Bahari had deemed it appropriate to hold a gathering - an opportunity to introduce these lions to one another, and to exchange pleasantries and customs. He'd ensured that food was provided, the lands were secure, and that all could participate...including cubs and guests alike.
This evening, no one would want for company and no one would be excluded. Tonight would be a night introductions and celebrations...

Rytir was apprehensive. The large, blue male was wading through the shallow water in the direction of the Bahari camp, toward a meeting with strange lions that he had no idea if he could trust. Usually Rytir was more than willing to assume that most creatures operated under the same honorable guidelines as he did; however, his opinion had been greatly changed after the kidnapping of his sister.
These lions across the water seemed nice, though, and so he had decided to attend their arranged meet and greet. They had offered food - much needed food - and seemed genuinely interested in their new neighbors. Rytir believed that this pride was friendly, and would prove very helpful in his much smaller pride's recovery.
Hantan had been a wanderer since he left his mother's territory as an adolescent, and while the original plan had been to claim a territory of his own he'd never really settled. In fact, he wasn't sure he wanted to do that anymore. It was much more interesting to keep moving and exploring. He tended to gravitate back to his friends and loved ones at semi-regular intervals, but the rest of his time was spent on the move. He liked living like this, not knowing from one day to the next what or who he might encounter.
The leopard had really lucked out this time. He'd heard about the sea-dwelling lions on his travels and figured that it might make for an interesting tale to try to meet them. He hadn't expected to happen to reach the Bahari'mtoto shore in time for a party, but since there was one... and since he was welcomed to join... He wasn't entirely sure what was being celebrated, but he reckoned he would figure it out sooner or later. And a good party didn't really need a reason, right?
The large crowd that was gathering made him slightly nervous, but after visiting Kitwana'antara so many times he had started to be a little more comfortable in these kinds of situations. He took a deep breath to steady his nerves and set out to mingle with the others. Perhaps he'd feel better if he avoided the densest part of the crowd for now...

Rogues? Ram was pleasantly surprised to see one or two among the gathered, and hazarded a smile. Perhaps the pride should have been much more welcoming years ago, if they had been then their isolated nature might very well have been avoided. Alas, slowly but surely both pride, rogue and new neighbours began to trickle in. It was still early of course, and more would follow when they finished with their responsibilities, but he should at least show his face!
With that in mind, the large lion cast aside the shadows and strode into view, providing an ample smile to Rytir (one of their new family), and then Hantan in turn. He knew not of the leopard but as he'd heard no reports of caution, he saw no reason to provide him with anything more than a warm welcome - ah, but such things were still a bit of a foreign concept to him... Diplomacy had never been his strong point and a large smile had always felt like torture, but a half smile would do, surely?
"Good evening to you both," he replied merrily and tilted his head to the side. "You are rather early but if you would like to help yourself to the food then by all means do so," he chuckled and cast a glance towards where it had been laid out in rows by one of the more pedantic hunters. "You will be guaranteed the best trimmings if you do."

Kicheko trotted up to the place where the little feast was taking place, slightly out of breath. She had had some new dens to dig with the other Bumani to ensure a place for the guests to sleep. They were rather shallow and certainly not as fancy as the ones for say, Ram, but they would certainly do in a pinch.
She was pleased to see that she wasn't the first to arrive, but certainly not the last. She bobbed her head in Ram's direction out of respect before tilting her head at the guests. One was one of the creatures from the islands, and the other was a striped leopard. Kicheko had grown up around lions, so anything that wasn't one of her breed was fascinating to look at. She gave a friendly smile to the both of them, not wanting their newly welcoming pride to get a bad reputation.
---
The newest cub to the pride stumbled through the sand on his way to the meeting as well, although his family was not far behind. Cetus, the youngest of the new brood, certainly didn't act as though he had been the last to arrive. He usually was charging around in front of his siblings, eager to hear and see what there was to hear and see before anyone else. Now that his legs were sturdier he could move faster - if a bit awkwardly - on the sand.
As he came into the clearing he looked around with wide eyes: there were already some lions and other creatures here! Fascinating! Not as fascinating as the ocean, but it would certainly do for tonight's entertainment. He had been promised stories, after all.

"Good evening," Rytir returned, executing a respectful bow. Ram was about the only one from the new pride that he had met, but he knew right away that this was a lion he could trust. He answered the pale blue beast's chuckle with a good-humored smile. He hadn't planned on eating right off the bat, but his stomach growled loudly, reminding him of the scarcity of food on his island and how little he had eaten to ensure the other members of his pride were fed.
Rytir gave Ram's shoulder a friendly headbutt, turned and gave a brief nod to the leopard that had wandered in, and padded toward the rows of fresh-kill indicated by the Mkuru-maji. Almost instantly, he spotted Kicheko - though he didn't know who she was. He mirrored her smile and approached the pretty gray-and-pink lioness, deciding it best to ignore his stomach a little longer so as not to appear rude. "Greetings," he rumbled, his deep voice a perfect match for his formidable size. He gave a smaller and less formal version of the bow he had offered Ram as he continued. "I don't believe we've met. I am Rytir, one of the surviving lions from the islands. Your pride has been more helpful than I could have imagined."
His attention was distracted, only showing in the flick of his eyes, as a dark cub with oddly patterned fur came fumbling down the beach. Rytir had always loved cubs, and he had to say that seeing this one and its siblings so full of life after such a tragedy was the most heart-lifting experience so far.
Ram offered a smile to Rytir as he executed both the bow and the nudge; more so when the lion opted to speak with one of the locals. He knew of Kicheko, she had been one of the cubs that had been part of the scare in recent years with the Kizingo'zaa; but she had long since grown and as a consequence, he rather felt his age a little more than he should! Alas, the fact that Rytir had offered to socialise in the manner he had was one that the lion simply couldn't disapprove of, was this not the whole point of the event in question?
Nevertheless, as Rytir was left to his own devices, the blue lion couldn't help but inspect the food himself, noting that in the future they might need to up their game if the numbers grew. They had many skilled hunters in the pride but ultimately, they may need a few more...
"Such a perturbed expression," the voice remarked behind him as Xenon padded towards him - joining his daughter Kicheko in the festivities no doubt, though as a Mshauri he was expected to do so. Suffice it to say that Ram would not have been surprised to see all of the family at some point or another.
"Not so much perturbed as...thoughtful," Ram replied smoothly and offered a wry smile. "If things go well, we may need more hunters, no?"

Kicheko was a bit surprised when the unfamiliar lion came her way, but that wore off quickly. She had always been an outgoing and adventurous girl, never one to turn her nose up to a new friend. And this lion was from the islands...that was about as exciting as you could get! Returning the little bow, she lifted her head with a wide grin.
"Nice to meet you, Rytir. I'm Kicheko! And hey, we're sibling prides now, aren't we? I'd do anything for my family, and that family has grown a bit," she said with a little laugh, glancing out to the islands that were now visible, thanks to the clearing of the fog and mist. "I'm glad everyone's made you feel comfortable. And I hope you find your dens comfy as well! I helped dig them," she added, a hint of pride to her voice. She caught movement out of the corner of her eye and grinned a bit wider as she spotted her father speaking with Ram. She let them be, though, not wanting to leave her new friend. That would be rude!
----
Cetus, however, was not occupied in the slightest, and he padded over to Ram and Xenon with a sense of urgency. He knew Ram was in charge around here, and he had seen the spotted lion a few times, but his little cub brain didn't really register that he might be interrupting some pretty important lions. He had been promised stories, after all!
Stopping a few feet shy of the two, he bent into a play bow before jumping at Ram, swatting at the fur wrappings on his front paws. "Aren't you hot in this stuff?" he asked with a little laugh, looking up at the blue lion with bright, icy eyes. "I know I'd be hot! I get hot just like this," he added, swatting with one paw at his own dark pelt before resuming his little attack on the furry accessories.
Rytir's smile only widened at Kicheko's up-beat demeanor; he even allowed a quiet, brief purr to escape his chest at the pink-and-grey lioness' quick acceptance of him and his pride as family.
Rytir had never been one for dens - he was never able to get comfortable with the earth pressing in on him. He preferred instead to sleep in trees which he knew was a rather odd trait for a lion. While his stark blue and white pelt didn't camouflage well, it still offered him a good vantage point, and he loved the feel of the sea breeze in his fur. Still, the bright lion knew that Kicheko must have worked hard on the dens, and he heard approving comments from his pridemates. "Ah, with how beautifully the dens were constructed, I should have known that their digger must be at least equally so." He finished with a grateful dip of his head, his mass of unruly mane falling forward into his face.
Noticing the grin on his new friend's maw, he turned to look over his shoulder at whatever had caught her eye. He noticed that Ram had been joined by another - rather brightly spotted - male and the small cub that he had seen tumbling down the beach. He chuckled heartily as he watched Cetus' assault on the pride leader's bracers. Oh, to be a cub.
