Personality: The best way to describe Yui would be as an individual that is, to some degree, callous and brazenly sexual. Often when in company of friends and close acquaintances, she has her fun making explicit remarks at the expense of others and herself as well. Her playful jabbing is about the only form of affection she shows, as it's pretty much unknown what she thinks of most people at any given moment. Her mildly jovial but certainly socially abrasive attitude leaves her out of more than a few social circles, not that she minds too much. It would be wrong, however, to say that she's all play and innuendo. As a diplomat and speaker, the perverted words and good nature are pretty much left at the door. Much akin to how a bad drunk acts differently when sober and inebriated, Yui acts seriously in times of business and crisis. She is known to carry little mercy or emotion for whoever sits on the other side of the table, and to her, if the ends justify the means, then so be it. This is made worse simply because the majority of the time she attempts to leave little for the other party to gain, giving herself or whomever or whatever she's representing the larger advantage, usually achieved by subversive tactics while the meeting is going on. It is this same, ruthless attitude that graces the battlefield when diplomacy fails. Accused of being somewhat excessive, Yui feels like there's no kill like overkill, and if the talking is done, then it's better to just leave the foe in the wastes of what they once had and burn everything they knew to the ground. Undoubtedly, it's such extreme battlefield judgement calls that leave her behind a desk for most of her job.

A second, perhaps more intimate look, however, reveals that Yui is a little more traditional than her appearance and attitude lets on. She prefers, and on occasion, campaigns, for a more traditional setting, to have the ladies of the Shinigami wear not only a different uniform, changing from the standard black soldier outfit to embroidered kimonos, but forgo traditional weapons such as swords as well, instead using needles and sharpened hair pins. It can be said that Yui actually prefers the women to be presented as feminine to eyes, although her motives for why tend to be left to her own discretion. Despite such a view on her fellow women, she has several qualities not found in the more traditional views of women that she prefers, namely her penchant for exotically flavored smokes and incenses and attitude as a whole. As if to contradict her more masculine traits, she does follow a much more traditional dress code. Yui's wardrobe contains nothing but the traditional kimono and yukata of older eras, often accompanied by some appealing perfume. But there is an even older tradition that she follows, one that is seldom remembered: the act of simply wearing nothing beneath her kimono. Due to the length of her dress, and her staunch position on her beliefs, she sees it as unnecessary, and as such, simply doesn't bother with it. However, it is wrong to say she is so close-minded that other opinions do not matter. As such, she is accepting of others thoughts and only brings up her opinions on the matter from time to time, unless they pertain to the conversation or she is asked to, and by leaving such things out of the light of conversation, she has garnered actual friends, or perhaps more accurately, friendly companions.

An even further branch of her belief that women should indeed be feminine, at least in appearance, Yui doesn't carry any form of sword, knife, or throwing tool on her. At first glance, one would even say she lacks a zanpakuto. However, as she states herself, she carries no traditional weapons upon her, meaning that her zanpakuto isn't a traditional weapon. Although her zanpakuto is always on her, one would not know otherwise unless they simply had known her for a small frame of time. This often confuses most foes, and makes, in her opinion, her dealings easier. Carrying a weapon, according to Yui, makes other parties more nervous, so she appears not to be holding one, always keeping a close hold on her zanpakuto while it remains hidden in plain sight.

    Sexual Preference: Pansexual

    Family:
    • Haruhisa Isone [Father]
    • Inoue Isone [Mother]

    Background:
Yui Isone was born to a wholesome, traditional family in times of strife. A mother and a father in her home, she was an only child, and certainly not the first attempt of her parents' to have a child. Although medicine at the time had no real way to put it, modern medicine would have revealed that her father was nearly impotent, and consequently, the fact that he had fathered a child was something like a miracle. While a child was appreciated, the family was admittedly disappointed at first. A daughter could only be married off and with only one child, their family line would end. After trying many more times, the father eventually gave up and accepted that he would be cursed with a daughter as his only child. To him, it was an act of Karma for something he must have done, perhaps even in a previous life. But, as the years marched on, he grew to love his daughter. At first, because as hard as it was to sire a child, and later, because of her quite surprising capability, capability that would normally be scorned of course.

Although not necessarily rich, her family was wealthy and had several homes. This was due, in part, to the job of her father. He was a man of reason and of peace. His job was something that was seen as important, even in the ancient eras. He was a diplomat, traveling from province to province and even to other countries. Because of this, several houses were needed for traveling in a country. When traveling abroad, they often stayed in the homes of friends or inns, whichever happened to be in the town they were passing through. Traveling with her parents from a young age, Yui was exposed to many cultural differences and ideas. When she was able to walk and talk, she began to seem... unusual. She wasn't like many children at the time, especially not daughters. At age six, she was able to grasp abstract concepts, presuming she spoke the language. She could even provide solid arguments, although the reasoning may be childish. By the age of nine, Yui was learning Korean, and speaking it rather fluently. She obtained a full grasp of it during a later visit on family business. Yui undoubtedly sported a powerful mind and good intellect. It wasn't an understatement to call her a child genius.

When Yui turned eleven, it was evident that she was prodigious in politics and she began to help out the family business of foreign diplomacy. This was frowned upon by everybody, but her father defended her. Although her mother would have done the same, as people often laughed at the opinions of women at the time, she kept herself silent. But even with the staunch defense with her father, including his attendance during several of the meetings she was supposed to handle, when it was his turn to take the wheel, Yui felt he was much too delicate. Although effective, sometimes she would discover, from time to time, that agreements would be twisted at a later date to great and sometimes dangerous ends. After pleading with him for another year, she was eventually allowed to handle her own meetings so long as she had guards. Her father was worried about her, and justly so. Later diplomatic missions had several attempts on her life and her body, foiled either by luck or the guard she kept with her.

It was on these missions by herself that Yui's ruthless tactics began to show. She actually poisoned her own father to keep him safe. It was never anything lethal, merely something to keep him bedridden and tired. Yui felt that if he continued to do his job at the same time as her, he would bring war or some other misfortune. Never hiding that she was a woman, Yui did attempt to make herself more unappealing to possible antagonists, openly displaying her callous and rough attitude and even smoking a pipe, the latter of which she truly enjoyed, and on missions, she would send someone to the market to collect various things to smoke or light or smell, anything with a wonderful scent, be it incense or other objects such as perfume. One account of her dealings with a foreign country involved her actually causing a rebellion while she was dealing with their leaders. Yui had been discussing with a foreign diplomat and trying to prevent a war. Meanwhile, while keeping the diplomat busy, she had several of her own men starting riots in several towns near the meeting place. When the diplomat left the meeting for home, he was greeted by the equivalent of civil war and found himself imprisoned and the country unable to go to war, even if it wanted to.

Another example of Yui's diplomatic destruction came when she was fifteen. Supposedly, it was about a marriage that wasn't beneficial to the people of her province, and by extension, her. Otherwise powerless, Yui arranged a meeting between herself and the man. He was extremely cautious and kept her on an effective lock down, worried that this demonic woman who had the gall to act like she did would cause some sort of riot. He had heard the stories after all. Surprisingly, there were no evil twists, at least, not during the meeting. It was even hardly that, more like tea and chit chat. It was later that Yui struck, and even then, not at the man, but his younger sister that was, at the time, the problem. The night of the meeting, while he was still in town, Yui had stolen away the troublemaker's sibling and held her captive in a torture room. The only guard on duty, and the only eyewitness account later stated that Yui had "strolled into the room in a confident manner, as if nothing could go wrong. She was quite direct, crouching down before the woman and stripping her bare before quickly and deftly taking my sword and pushing it up into the captive's loins. After a moment, when blood was visible running down my scabbard, she pulled it out and told me to let her go." A few days later, as expected, the virgin sister was apparently accused of not being a true virgin and things fell apart for the hopeful man who wanted to stake a claim where he had no business. Although Yui was blamed, there was no proof. She got away scot-free.

Shikai Incantation: Fly on ember wings, Haiiro no Cho.

Release Appearance: The released appearance, in both Shikai and Bankai, is maintained as a pipe as it would be in its sealed form.

    Description:
This zanpakuto is a ranged, fire subtype elemental zanpakuto. It's primary focus is to create focused attacks that damage predominantly one opponent. Although it has a few twists in dealing with multiple foes, the zanpakuto is mostly geared to fighting a lone foe with focused, highly controlled flames. When paired with a wind user, this zanpakuto can be used to cause wider areas of destruction, the flame being pushed outwards by the wind and using it as fuel for the hungry fire.

    Abilities:
    • Gisei [Immolation]: The user inhales deeply, and upon breathing out, emits a thin stream of fire from their mouth. This tiny jet of flame has a range of seven meters (roughly 23 feet) and upon contact with any object or air infused with reiryoku, explodes upwards into a column of fire three meters tall (roughly 10 feet) and one meter (roughly three feet) across. While not wholly destructive to the environment around it, plant life and other flammable objects should be wary as this fire can spread wildly like any other if given the chance. Additionally, when struck by wind, this can force the column to move while it burns or even make it flare higher. Consequently, this particular move is quite strong against a few different types of zanpakuto. The fire naturally lasts until either Shikai is sealed or it is physically put out. Fortunately, although tall, is not very wide and consequently easy to avoid individual columns. [2 Post Cool Down]
    • Kosui [Incense]: The user blows out a small but powerful jet of fluid similar to a scented oil up to ten meters (roughly 35 feet) away. Although not in and of itself damaging, except a burning sensation to the eyes and throat if swallowed or allowed to get into the eyes, this oil carries a particularly strong scent to the user, effectively marking the opponent and making them easy to follow and track by the user. However, there is a hidden danger with this oil as well. If the foe makes contact with fire at all, the flames jump quickly to their oiled clothing, hair, skin and even any of the oil on the ground. This effectively makes a fire user extremely susceptible to their own attacks as well as to the flame based attacks of the user and should the foe catch fire, it prompts them to ditch their clothing or otherwise put out the fire as quickly as possible. Using water or water based techniques dilutes this oil, making it impossible for the user to track the foe via scent, but they do still remain flammable for a small while afterwards [1 Post]. After this, the oil must be reapplied. When exposed to air, if nothing is used on the oil, it naturally lasts for three posts. [4 Post Cool Down]
    • Tomasu [Light]: The user spits out a tiny ball of flame that explodes upon contact with an object. Unlike most typical explosions that explode outwards in every direction away from the point of impact, this explosion is more like a water balloon effect, the fire exploding in the direction of the point of impact. This allows it to catch an opponent even easier, and with the bursting flames, the flickering embers of the blast can catch targets affected by kindling and oils as well. Unlike Gisei, however, this fire only lasts for a short time [2 Posts]. Wind and plant life of course bolster this attack while water, dirt, sand, and mud can put it out, just like any other fire. [3 Post Cool Down]
    • Kogasu [Scorch]: The user exhales a breath after a long drag, a swarm of fifty butterflies with wings of ash coming from the smoke emitted from the exhaled breath, the edges of the wings still red as if tinged with embers. Although individually annoying, the butterflies can cause painful burns and burning sensations upon contact and then dissipate into ash once they hit an object. As with any other technique, these butterflies can start a fire on plant life and oils, however, they catch fire immediately when met with reiryoku infused wind or wind based zanpakuto techniques or Kido. This prevents them from turning to ash upon contact, but does increase the significance of the damage they deal. These butterflies chase down the foe freely for a very short time period [1 Post] before fading away into ash on their own, losing their ability to light anything ablaze. [3 Post Cool Down]

    Bankai Name: Karacho Chissoku

Bankai Incantation: Desolate all beneath the clouds, Karacho Chissoku.

    Release Appearance:
As with Shikai, the Bankai remains an ever harmless looking pipe, only good for blocking and maybe light raps to the head like a poorly improvised club.

    Description:
Unlike it's Shikai, the Bankai takes a far more drastic approach of fighting. Rather than use controlled and focused attacks, the Bankai is designed to destroy everything it can touch. All of the attacks can hit a large number of targets, ruin water supplies, burn fields to ash and lay waste to a city block. As such, it is harmful to both friend and foe, and the user must be careful if allies lie in the area, as it's power is relatively unchecked, only unleashed in the direction the techniques are unleashed, and unlike many zanpakuto abilities, the Bankai's techniques find themselves affected by gravity once they've reached the end of their range.

    Abilities:
    • Haoto Hai [Wingbeat Ash]: The user exhales a great cloud of ash that swirls and races across the ground, burning anything caught in front of it. This ash cloud works much like a flash flood, crashing up against buildings with enough force to break windows and spill into the structures, heavily scorching the walls and desolating the ground. This technique is five meters (17 feet) wide and rushes forth, swamping the area in front of it for fifteen meters (roughly fifty feet). When used in the air or on a hill side, as this technique reaches the end of the of its range, the ash cloud will either fall to the ground below or begin easing down the slope, making it hazardous for the user to utilizes this technique below the opponent. These ashes last for three posts before dissipating and can be blown around and ignited while they exist. However, any fire on the ashes dissipates with them at the end of their three post life period. [5 Post Cool Down]
    • Enba Hiko [Ember Flight]: The user spits out a a small fire ball about the size of a person's head. This fire ball continues on a normal path for only a meter (roughly three feet) before exploding into dozens of small butterfly shapes that flit wildly about, continuing to travel another nine meters before fizzling out. Because of their erratic motion, this makes predicting a safe path difficult, however, the combined, moderate range of ten meters (roughly 35 feet) makes back pedaling a safe option, depending on how close you are to the user when they use this technique. The user may cut the combine range in half, to a total of five meters (roughly 17 feet) in return for being able to spew the fireball into a long arc instead. Anything susceptible to fire such as plant life and oils will catch and wind serves to bolster the attack, making the fire balls larger. [3 Post Cool Down]
    • Iseki no Kokai [Voyage of Ruin]: The user exhales a thick, suffocating cloud up nine meters (roughly 30 feet) into the air, the sound of a massive amount of wings flapping filling the air. The Cloud begins spreading outwards, in actuality a mass of ember tipped ash butterflies, covering the ground, floating into buildings, killing plant life and poisoning water as they spread outwards over twenty-five meters (roughly 83 feet). Highly destructive, this technique is harmful to any form of life, friendly or otherwise, the only exception being the user themselves. Animals and people find their skin irritated, their lungs and throat dry and burning as well as their eyes. Being caught in the cloud itself is even more damaging, causing moderate to severe burns, short or wheezy breathing, and the chance for their clothing to burst into flames. Fortunately, the attack is fairly easy to dodge as one just needs to get over the cloud before it passes over them or be a sufficient distance away from the source to avoid the damage.
