It was a normal day. Well, technically it wasn't a normal day because the world had been ripped apart and reformed before anyone could blink, but Lou was pretty much convinced it was a normal day. He was just wanderin' around campus, lookin' all cool with his half-buttoned dress shirt and haphazardly tied tie. Had he gotten some action, or did the foxfire fuzz suggest he'd had a wrestling match with his two puffballs and lost? YOU DECIDE.
Lou had considered actually attending class today, since he was a hot mess and surely it would get the attention of some ghoul somewhere, when he noticed a familiar somebody zombie-ing it up in the courtyard.
the vampire practically slid his sleazy self over, draping an arm over her shoulders. "Hey baby. You look lost, but at least you managed to find me today." Okay not his strongest pickup line but it would do.

Amphi had been zombie-ing it to the courtyard. There was a lot to process and well for the little mermaid, she was much more attuned and aware of things. She had a mom, and a dad. It made her nervous, it made her weep. It made her curse that to think she had parents who were out there.
She had memories of them, and of herself in other places. This was okay. Even if it did confuse her a little.
It was too bad she had zoned out walking, because if she had seen who was coming well....
"Hello Lou." She said a bit dead panned at first before turning her head up to look at him. She seemed out of focus before everything came back. her eyes narrowed just a margin. "You should probably button up Lou." She moved in front of him, pushing all the buttons of his shirt up, and then tying his more properly. Jeez.

"Hello fish lips~" Lou cooed, a little surprised her greeting hadn't been more, well, vibrant... Like her hair.
"What's that?" Maybe he could get her out of this mood she was in. Yes, Lou could cheer her up. "I should unbutton my pants, you say?" Consider it as good as done. Pop! "What's wrong with you? Didja eat a bad batch of worms or something?"

"LOU!!!!!!" Amphi looked down out of instinct, though she already knew what it looked like okay. There had been a unfortunate camera picture that didn't help with her imagination. But at least color was turning to her face. "NOT HERE." She didn't quite yell but it was a super high pitched squeak. Followed by covering her face with her hands.
Any other words were muffled by the fact that her hands were covering her face.
Yeah this really ousted some of the memories.
Come Amphi, keep it cool.
"Can you please button your pants and then I will talk to you..." She said, still a little muffled by hands.

"Not here? That means somewhere else, right?" Well that was promising. "Alright, alright." He re-buttoned his pants with a smirk, glad that he could offer some assistance on returning the mermaid to her former peppy glory.
"Now spill the beans sister. Who peed in your cheerios this morning?"

"Yes oh my jack somewhere else." Wait what was she agreeing too? Whatever it didn't matter. Peeking through her hands to see that his pants were buttoned again, she nodded before looking around.
"Let's go to my room okay? I'd feel better there." She said, reaching out to tug him to her room QUICKLY BECAUSE NO ONE NEEDED TO SEE HER AND LOU TOGETHER OKAY.
Once there, she unlocked the door, looking much like a sinner in church. Which was not good. then pulled him in. Since he'd been in there before, she didn't worry much about formalities before turning to him.
"I just came back from the Tear?" She nodded, "But I forgot some things and learned of some things." She rubbed her head, "I have actual parents somewhere. But I don't know where. And I don't know what memories I lost."
Which oddly enough had been one about Lou.
Oh speaking of Lou.
"You didn't get a letter or anything....for me right?"

Woah, she'd actually agreed to it? Hot damn! Lou was such a lucky b*****d.
"Alrighty then." His brows waggled as the boil followed her without objection.
Lou stood there patiently as she unlocked the door to her room, hands folding in his pockets. "Man, I didn't think you'd move so fa-aah!" The vampire stumbled as she dragged him in, looking towards the door, then Amphi. "Uh... Tear?" He made a face before falling back on her bed. Ohhh yeah. "Why would you send me a letter? Were you confessing your undying love for me or something? I know you're shy but damn, a text would do."

She rolled her eyes now, at his flopping on her bed. Instead of sitting though, since her bed was one of the few places, she paced instead.
"In the tear....Lou are you listening?" She moved to get really close to his face and squish his cheeks. Cheek squishing was a thing. "Lou focus okay. I am not in undying love with you oh my jack. We only had ONE kiss." She blanked, "And that's it." It wasn't like she remembered their little bite scene that had heated a little more which led to kiss. As far as she was concerned the kiss happened because she didn't know.
"I...I am not that shy, I would tell you if I really liked you okay." She flushed, looking away and letting go of his cheeks. "But I am scared, I feel like I lost a lot but nothing important. Something feels wrong and I don't like it all that much." She closed her eyes.
"Were you in the Tear? Did anything happen to you?"

"Mmmhmmph" Of course he was listening, but just to add to the moment, he made squishy faced kissy lips up at the mermaid.
So he shut up and listened to her story. Or, what little there was to tell. She was scared? Of what? A tear? Had he ripped his pants and not realized it or something?
Maybe it was just a bad dream. Lou tilted his head to the side as he reached up to remove her hands from his face and hold them instead. "Do you want another?" He asked, neglecting to answer her questions for the sake of seizing the moment.

"And like, In the tear, everyone was not themselves, but its cause we didn't have memories. And like there was Excalibur and Merlin and they were fighting-" She was ranting a little now. "And I thought I saw a memory of me writing you a letter, not a love letter, just one to tell you that memories were important," The rambling even continued when he took her hands away from his face, just holding them. "It wasn't a dream, because we came back. I don't know-"
She stopped..
"Another what????"

He let her rambling continue without interruption, until she finally asked him a question.
"Another kiss." He answered simply, his face unchanging.

But she was just...and this was important. But that was a left ball into the right field she didn't expect......
"Do...uhm......" She was just floundering around here....."But...The tear......." But...
She couldn't answer because her mind was still trying to process.

Lou just smiled. Well, she certainly didn't say no.
His hands relocated hers to his chest, cupping the mermaid's cheeks soon after. This time she wouldn't get a warning or some whimsical foreign language sentence. The boil just... Lifted his head until their lips connected.
THAT SHOULD FIX THINGS.

No she didn't say no, but she didn't quite say yes because she was trying to jump from point A to Problem C and it wasn't working.
Her hands clutched a little at his chest when he set them there, this time her eyes closing when he leaned up for it, making it easier by leaning down for him as well.
She pulled back a little bit after, staring down at Lou. She didn't bother asking why but kept her hands resting on his chest.
Okay...okay point A.
"You didn't lose anything did you?" She whispered down at him, "Which means you weren't in the tear." closing her eyes again, "That's good. I was....a little bit worried I guess for nothing."

Yes, surely that had made things work themselves out. Lou pulled away from the little peck on the lips, confident that it was like a big bandage on a small cut...
And then his expression deadpanned when she continued.
Oh well. This time he squished her face. "Okay, so. I still don't know what you're talking about. Not one word, except for apparently you were worried about me?" Lou's brows raised as his eyes narrowed. "That's a stupid thing to do, just so you know. I always bounce back. Always." Not that he'd ever been through anything truly traumatic.
