Next was another relatively new arrival to the island, but Lily was fond of her already. Dancing was such a lovely activity, though the Wind fairy had never tried it herself because she suffered from acute stage fright, and Lily appreciated those who enjoyed a nice quiet evening. What a ladylike thing to do! ...Well, maybe she was a little reserved, but Lily wasn't going to judge. Flitting into the apartment the two young women shared, the fairy went from room to room, trying to decide a good place to leave her gift. She eventually chose the living room, landing on the armrest of the couch and placing a basket of fruit on the couch. The basket was trimmed with blue and filled with peaches, plums, and pears. P for Paige! Nestled on top of the fruit was a small blue envelope addressed to Paige Lewis. Lifting off from the couch, Lily said goodbye to the apartment and went off to the next stop~

It had been ages since Romane had danced. The woman stood at the door of what she knew to be Paige Lewis' apartment, the woman who had claimed herself to be a professional dancer, which Romane presumed meant she did in fact know how to dance. She wasn't certain on the qualifications of the woman nor did she consider it a wise career choice for an individual as, like art, writing, acting, and any number of pointless, though admittedly enjoyable, activities, it did not promise to be a very profitable or beneficial career for society. Still, Romane was appreciative that there was someone who knew how to dance and could perhaps teach her more moves than the simple routine Fate had taught her all those years ago. She glanced down the hallway again somberly before straightening herself up and rapping curtly on the door. She was still in her uniform with her badge reflecting the ceiling lights proudly as she had made certain to polish it before arriving to meet the newcomers.

Paige had been curled up in her bed reading, when she heard a knock on the door. She wasn't expecting company, and Tara was at work so it wasn't like someone was coming over for her. They didn't even really know anyone on this island, so who could possibly be here for either of them? Well, it looked like she had no choice but to find out. She marked her place in the book before setting it down and heading to answer the door. "Hello," she answered the door. A woman in a police uniform stood in front of her, "Can I help you?" Tara hadn't done something stupid had she? No, her friend knew better than that, so what could this woman possibly want from them? Maybe something happened in the area and she wanted to ask some questions. That was all Paige could possibly think of.

((Short post is short. I apologize.))

The young girl, right. Hyacinth adjusted her glasses as she stopped within the bedroom of Tara Hamilton, crossing her arms as she considered the young girl. She was just starting her life, really, and had only just managed to get to the island, so Hyacinth supposed it wouldn't be wrong to judge her too – oh, scratch that, Hyacinth wasn't going to let some silly excuses explain away a lazy girl! She would give her the benefit of another year before doing anything rash, but she wasn't going to leave anything better than a jar of fireflies on the girl's nightstand. She hadn't seen Tara do anything productive at all! It was such a waste for someone so intelligent to spend their days as a mere assistant and, even more so, to not at least be utilizing their free time to better hone their skills! She would have given the girl a stern talking to if she had her chance, but, alas, Tara – like practically all of her followers – didn't bother to visit her at all. She would just have to hope that the girl would figure it out on her own. She left the apartment to finish up her duties – hopefully, she would at least finish before Ilex did.

Ah. Romane straightened herself when the door opened promptly after she had knocked, though it seemed pointless as her posture was never an issue for the woman. It was especially unnecessary as the one who had opened the door was a good many inches below Romane, which was pleasant, to say the least. She strongly disliked having to look up to anyone, after all, even if it was a harmless young girl – ah. Ah, not harmless. Romane couldn't strike this girl out as a potential murderer, rapist, or other degenerate of society to infiltrate her town – women could be the most deceptive of individuals, after all.

Good evening.” She greeted with a tip of her head, using the move to allow her a brief chance to glance behind the woman at the apartment. It looked.. nice. No dead bodies or bloody walls to set off the alarms. She looked back down at the girl, “It would appear that you are new to this area. In which case, it is proper to introduce myself as Mrs. Romane Murrow, Sheriff of this island and the individual one should contact in case of emergency or suspicion of any criminal activities.” She slid her hand into her front pocket and handed her a card, on it was a number and address so the woman could contact her with ease. The police department's number and location was public knowledge, of course, but Romane couldn't trust those phones weren't being monitored by someone.

However, I am not here in regards to my duties as the main authority of the island. I am here to inquire on a Ms. Paige Lewis. Is she currently present?” She knew this was the correct address – Romane's files were never wrong. Which was how she knew that there was a Tara Hamilton at this same address and there was a good chance that this was antique shop assistant instead of the dancer.

So this woman was the sheriff, it seemed. Was it customary here that the sheriff came to greet new comers? How odd this island was! Oh, but then the woman had mentioned her name. Had the sheriff really come here for her? But why? "That is me. Paige Lewis here," she raised her hand up as if to say "present." It was strange though, this officer coming to her house and asking specifically for her, why not Tara? What had she done to have her day to herself interrupted.

"Um, is there a problem or...?" she looked up at Romane questionably. Or wait! She had said that this wasn't related to work, so could this maybe have to do with that masquerade she had tried to help out with, that certainly could be plausible. All the woman would have had to do was ask those terrible Sonata people, which in turn led her hear. It seemed a bit strange that the officer might also be helping with the event, but maybe she involved for security reasons or something, that would make sense, right?

Oh, so this was the Paige Lewis she was after? Romane looked the girl over again, registering the height difference a second time with the slightly of frowns. She supposed that would put Romane in the masculine position, but she couldn't rightfully complain when she knew she had trouble being lead around. Still, it was difficult to see how exactly Ms. Lewis would teach her anything when she was taking the submissive – ah, she was getting ahead of herself.

No, Ms. Lewis, there is no problem.” She paused for a second, considering the honesty in that statement. Actually, there was always a problem, but she was going to have to trust that Ms. Lewis was referring to her own person and its involvement in a potential problem – which, to Romane's knowledge, would mean she had spoken the truth. She didn't know Ms. Lewis to be involved in any problems, but the fact that the girl had inquired on that implied that there could possibly be a problem and she was only checking to see if Romane was yet aware of this problem – ah. She realized she had been standing there, eyes narrowing suspiciously over the period of silence. This was not a good first impression and a waste of time as well.

She cleared her throat, “I have come to inquire on your availability. You are a dancer, correct?” That had better be correct or else she was going to rush Ms. Lewis to the government offices so she could fill out the necessary paperwork and fix the problem in her files. “Are you at all capable of teaching 'dance' to less skilled individuals?

"Yeah," Paige nodded her head. A simple answer for a simple question. "I'm more of a performer than I am a teacher, but I can teach," was this really why this woman had come over here? To learn to dance? She had previously noticed that there wasn't a dance studio in the town, so it made sense that the woman had turned to her. Still, she hadn't expected that the sheriff would have any interest in dancing, not that she minded in the least!

"Is there any specific kind of dance you'd like to learn?" Her specialty and favorite was ballroom, so she hoped that was what the woman hoped to learn. If not then they'd get through it somehow, just not as smoothly as Paige would like, but she'd make it work! She had to make a good impression on the people in this town!
