It was white, a brilliant color that was not harsh to her pink eyes, but rather a soft glow like moonlight. Ri didn't know where she was, she only knew she would walk, following the misty orbs that pulled her in deeper into the peaceful, pearlescent silver woods. The trees stood tall and proud like sentinels, their branches reaching to the dove-grey sky overhead, and the faintest sound of music floating with the mists. Time had stilled within this enchanted place, Rhiannon didn't know how long she had been walking, but it couldn't have been too long before she came upon a tree so large, it seemed to be alive. She could imagine a heartbeat lying within its trunk, softly pounding a slow beat. And yet, its branches were bare... Was it sick? "At last," Ri turned to the tree slowly, was it talking to her? "At last, someone has arrived to hear my tale. It has been so long, I have been silenced too long, taken and hidden, my power feared but not respected, cultivated until I am barren and empty. This is all that remains of my Legacy, but I am not finished, not yet. As long as my powers remain, my children will prosper after me. They will take up my mantle, to protect, to serve, to remember, and to grieve. Men like the Great King will rise again, and fall just as easily, but I only wish to serve. Come now. Help me fulfill my last desire." Ri decided she would help the tree, after all, she hated to see something as beautiful as the forest die away. She nodded, murmuring an "I'll be right back", as she walked away. The forest finally cleared, revealing a sight that was almost too surreal to be real. There was a lake so still and perfect, it was a heavenly white, illuminated by a multitude of the orbs and its own radiance. The pure water hypnotized Rhiannon, she walked to its edge and heard the same light music that echoed through the silver forest. She knelt by its edge, and forgoing her nice hairstyle, dipped her head under the glassy surface to hear the music better. "Heal my children," it sang in a clear, bell-like voice, "And when you do I will give you a gift of immeasurable value. That is my only wish and my only desire. Take these waters and carry them to my children." She listened intently to its words, and was suddenly distracted by the orbs above, where there was... air. Ri jerked her head out of the water, taking slow breaths and shaking the water droplets out of her pink hair. She searched for something she could fashion a bowl out of, even contemplating using her jacket or skirt, but settled on cupping her hands under the water and taking careful steps back to the tree. Aided by the orbs, it wasn't too hard of a journey. She gave the sick tree water. A branch shivered once, creating a small, silver acorn. It shuddered again, shaking from roots to branches, causing the acorn to fall and roll right up to Ri's left boot. 'Thank you...' it seemed to sigh. Status:Seed Size: 16 mm

The orbs of ethereal light danced around her head, drawing her once ahain to the vast lake. A soft singing filled the air once more, its tone full of sorrow and longing. This time, Ri was prepared, she took the black ribbon out of her hair and used it to tie her pink hair back into a long ponytail. She then took off her black half jacket and fingerless gloves, laying them flat on a silver rock so they would dry from her last attempt at listening. She held her breath, and plunged her head underwater. "My children need time to grow, to move on from my Grief. Help them create their own Legacy and feed them each unique memories."Bubbles rose from the darkest depths of the lake, coming to the surface like a school of fish. It was strange, the bubbles only looked like regular bubbles, but she was drawn to a certain one like a moth, its faint pink glow calling for her to take it. Immediately, she was drawn into a memory... Memory "She" didn't have a name, technically 'she' didn't even exist. Her form was almost panther-like, a complicated mass of cast-off parts, faceless save for a jagged mouth and twin nostrils, pieces of bone protruding like spines from her back and reptilian head. She stood tall on four legs ending in massive claws, her whip-like tail swishing against the grey floor. The eyes on her body blinked in unison, alighting on one of the Formless below her post. the blob of mist wandered too far from the trail of Fragment collectors, and it disrupted the careful order of their ranks. "You there!" Her multiple eyes looked up to the seven figures at the top of the cliff, her Queens seated high above the desolate world below. They were the lucky, those with perfectly functioning bodies and voices, those much too beautiful and powerful than she was. They were the ones who changed her from one of the Formless to a Gravehound. They had created her body out of the separate pieces from the Fallen, and tasked her with the duty of keeping the Formless in line. And she would do whatever they had asked of her. "Exterminate the straggler! Its messing up our perfect lines!"Her lips pulled back into a snarl, a rumbling growl ripping from her throat. Her body moved swiftly with anticipation; she would soon feel the sweet taste of mist between her jaws. If her Queens wished it, she would obey. She shivered, 'What was that about?' She wondered, and then promptly took it to the seed, all memory of it gone.

She pulled another orb from the lake. Memory Ri walked confidently down the rows of tables in her glittering pink gown, the black satin cat ears and tail were an annoyance, but she just had to become a Kitten waitress in order to find the mobster known as Red Rum. He was a regular attendee of the secretive nightclub, she found out, after taking up the job offer to keep tabs on the sharp-suited man. Now was her chance, he had come alone. She didn't normally work so early in the morning, but her partner phoned her at five o' clock sharp two weeks ago.
"Rhinestone, we got a problem down by Jimmy's café. The Captain wants all available officers here, and he's requestin' your special expertise."
"Sorry, Tiger. You know I don't work until the sun shines." She sat on her soft velvet settee by her vanity, rubbing her eyes out of sleep.
"I know, but you're going to want to see this."Ri sashayed her way across the dance floor to the VIP table, her heels clicking against the hardwood boards. A jazz band played onstage, the deep-voiced singer crooning: "I put a spell on you... And now, you're mine~" Her target had no idea she was coming, he just nursed his martini, staring down at the ritzy table. She walked right up to the table, put her hands down on its pristine white surface, and winked. "Is that martini shaken, or stirred?" Tony was right, for once. It was a sight worth seeing. The body was spread across the floor like slime, whatever the man had been in his past life, he was now ripped apart. Ri pulled her trench coat tighter, feeling chilly with the light rain falling and the early morning darkness. She started writing in her small notebook: 'body in shreds, possibly mobster, deal gone wrong... Serial killer?'
"Pretty brutal, huh?" Tony sidled up to her, offering an umbrella to cover her.
"No kidding. But these tears... A knife couldn't have done this, could it?" She knelt down for a closer look, and sure enough, the edges of the ripping were jagged as if he were attacked by an animal. There seemed to be something bizarre about the entire situation.
"It has to be. Look at the wounds, they're all exact. One to the neck, one to the wrist, and one to his trigger arm. No one has any clue who did it or why, but the boys are sayin' its Red Rum."
"Then we better find him.""Does it matter?" He looked up with a bit of annoyance. "Which one does a cute girl like you prefer?" He asked with a predatory grin. "Outside..." She purred, pulling him off his chair and leading him out the back alley. With a sly smile, she pulled out her set of handcuffs, shoved him against the building, and tied him to the water pipe overhead. "Red Rum, your murder spree has ended! You're under arrest!" She mentally patted herself on the back. "You shouldn't have done that..." he growled. Ri couldn't believe her eyes, he was... changing! His teeth grew into fangs, claws sprouted from his fingertips... She screamed. And immediately gave it to the seed, the feeling of danger disappearing along with it.

She cradled the bubble gently, bringing it to the surface. Memory "Sweetness!" A male voice whistled from the card table, "I'mma gonna need anoth'r round here!" The 'Sheriff' pounded the table hard, scattering his lousy poker hand and the others' cards as he did so. There were cries of outrage from the other patrons, soon enough there would be another brawl. Rhiannon got to work on pouring the drinks, there was no way she was going to let them shoot down her Granddaddy's saloon, it was the only thing she had left. She took the tray herself, praying she wouldn't trip on her pink showgirl dress and spill the glasses over one of the 'tough as old leather' outlaws sitting at the tables. Every time she passed them, her heart sank. Nothing had been the same since their new Sheriff blew into town, a wanted outlaw who called himself Rattlesnake Ryan. He paid the Mayor a visit in the middle of a hot summer's night... And was found dead in the morning. He then appointed himself 'Sheriff', sticking up every single bank in the area and claiming the town of Hell as 'his'. It made Ri sick. "Why thank ya' Sweet Pea!" Ryan winked. The others cat-called to her as she walked away, afraid and alone. No sooner had she set the empty tray down, there came a loud BOOM!"Oh fyer cryin' out loud..." The Sheriff flipped the card table over, drawing his gun, and stormed outside, his cronies not too far behind. Ri ran straight for the back room that served as her ramshackle home, taking off her lame excuse for a cover, tying the mask on firmly, and pulling on her Granddaddy's hat down low. 'Someone's gonna pay for that...'"Hell's really going up in flames, eh boys?" A figure on a horse laughed, leading a pack of outlaws with torches. They tossed them through glass shop windows, most already broken in from Hell's own denizens. Sheriff Ryan stood in front of the pack from a neighboring town, looking as angry as an onery mountain lion. "And what the f*** do you think you're doing?" He snarled, rifle aimed at the leader's head. "Oh you know, Sheriff," he spat, "just givin' our town a show is all!" The intruders erupted in a chorus of laughter. Rhiannon watched the entire exchange from her post, now she would have to do something before the town couldn't be saved by anyone. She spurred her black horse towards the front line, shooting a round of bullets at the feet of both groups. They yelled, some turning tail and leaving their parties. Her horse leapt onto a farmer's cart, her cape billowing behind her, the horse rearing to the sky as she lit homemade flash-flares. "Hell Angel!" Some of the men screamed in terror, the Sheriff and intruding leader were frozen with shock, their faces white as ghosts. Ri threw the flares down, sparkling a brilliant red that grew into a blindingly white flash. The outlaws scattered, no longer willing to fight. More figures like her appeared out of the shadows, riding on black horses. They all wore masks in the shape of demonic versions of animal faces, her own pink-decorated coyote mask looking to the Crow, the bank-owner; the Steer, the dry goods man; the Jackalope, Mrs. Anna from the bakery... All thirteen of Hell's seemingly ordinary citizens standing for their town. It was a fearsome sight, Rhiannon noted. The caped black figures rose out of the destruction, the fire only adding to their intimidating appearance. Their voices rang out in unison, just as they'd planned since Rattlesnake came to town. "WE THIRTEEN ARE THE ANGELS OF HELL..." their horses walked foward toward the Sheriff and his fellow outlaws, driving them back. "LEAVE THIS GODFORSAKEN PLACE AND NEVER RETURN, OR YOUR SOULS WILL BE DAMMED FOR ETERNITY!" Their laughter echoed around the ruined storefronts and barren houses, creating more demons from the air. They didn't yell... They didn't shoot... The only thing the outlaws did... ...was run as fast as their quivering legs could carry them. She was still laughing, the feeling of being powerful running fully in her veins. It was harder to let this one go, but the tree needed her to be there for it... The memory faded, leaving her with sore sides.

Her legs hurt with the effort of going back and forth, each time she found herself in a new place and no idea what she brought to the tree. Memory She was finally here! The illustrious school of Pigfarts, her ticket to becoming a great Witch and escaping the confines of her parent's stuffy old house and stuffy old ways. The train ride was already promising, the other students friendly and full of hope, maybe she would finally make some friends. She sat at one of the enormous tables, awaiting the time when she would be called to the podium and given her new faction. She really hoped she was certain she would become a Leo, just like the rest of her family. Noble, brave, strong... It fit her perfectly! She watched as one by one, the students were called forth by their white-robed High Priestess. She waved her arms above a nervous-looking young wizard, creating a small shower of red sparks, and then the magic took on a new form, a brilliant, glittering Pegasi, galloping around the wizard until it exploded into glitter. "Pegasi!" The High Priestess exclaimed to great applause. It wasn't terrible, they were known for being hard workers. Not like Serpentarius, whose members were cold, deceitful... And almost always became a part of The Dark Order. Maybe she would be an intelligent Capricorn instead? "Rhiannon Witchhazel!" She practically leapt off her seat. She straightened her color-shifting skirt and marched past the other groups, Leo's members giving her wide smiles, Capricorn applauding with enthusiasm, Pegasi giving her a cheer of various 'yay!'s... And Serpentarius watching her with cold stares. They hissed as she passed them, laughing at their own taunts, and she ignored them, walking just a little faster. She stood at the podium, shaking like a leaf in a fall wind as the Priestess' magic dust fell softly to the ground. It shifted with a rustle, becoming a long snout, a horse? A goat? But the magic's shape became more sinuous, its body way too long to be anything else... It slithered around her body with glittering crimson scales, rearing on her shoulder with a fanged grin aimed at her face. The snake attacked her nose... Only to explode into a gentle dusting of glitter on her cheek. She suddenly felt sick, her stomach dropping to the floor. "Serpentarius!"Now she was exhausted and heartbroken. She only hoped it was worth it.

With one last bubble to retrieve, Ri was happy to take this one back to the tree. Memory She was in a tree, awaiting her next opponent in the Canopy Arena. Crouched down under the cover of leaves, her black fur resembled any of the other various shadows in her hiding spot. She could easily see what she had been waiting for her entire life: Minipet Battle School. Her parents told her about this place of wonder and power since she was only a green Halloween Kit, dreaming of the day the school could teach her so much about becoming a Battle Master. And now she was here.A rustle alerted her to someone she hadn't seen before: a handsome Scareon Pirate, his rugged scars and eyepatch giving him bad boy appeal. If only she could impress him with great battle skill... Then maybe, they would have beautiful Mini Eons together... The thought filled her heart with joy and made her eyes glitter with longing. She leapt out of the trees, her hat falling perfectly over one eye, and in one fluid movement, turning to face him with a showy display of New Moon. The stars glittered around her, her pink markings glowing with the healing powers of the dark moon above, the wounds and slashes from a Feral Guardian Fire smoothing over as if it never happened. "Nice..." The Pirate grinned with a velvety smooth voice. He retaliated, using a great display of RAZZLE DAZZLE! He pulled his knife from its sheath and tossed it in the air with his fangs, using the time to backflip in the air and hit a tree covered in freshly-fallen rain. He landed in the brightest patch of sunlight on the ground, the dew from the trees falling around him in a shining shower of jewels, creating shafts of rainbow colored light. Finally, he caught the knife's blade with his teeth, lifting an eyebrow and giving her his best version of a 'smolder'.... Her heart melted. She came closer to the grey-furred Pirate... Only to have a bag thrown over her head."HEY!" She screeched. "What do you think you're doing? LET ME GO!" Her Divine Claws were no use against its rough fabric, finding it hard to escape. Her sleek fur bristled. 'It has to be that Pirate Lepus' Mini Trappers...' She cursed herself for being so careless. "You'll make a nice addition to the Blackmarket, hon..." the Pirate purred. She could still feel a phantom tail lashing out behind her, her face twisted into a snarl. She shook her head, getting rid of the feeling by offering the memory to the tree... And remembering her clothes were still by the lake.

Her little seed had grown, becoming a fragile but promising sapling. "You're okay now, right Little One?" She gave it a small half-smile. "Not quite..." a small voice replied. Ri sighed. If anything had any answers, it would be the lake, so she marched right back to it... And gasped. The simple lake was transformed, becoming a gentle, flowing stream. The crystal water splashed against glittering, faceted white gems, forming a series of small pools. If she followed it upstream, Ri was certain she would be able to get to the regal castle in the distance, but she felt that she had overstayed her welcome. "Take some of this water, and my blessing." Sang the new stream. "This is my last request. Show my children your world so they will grow each unique and different."Instead, she felt each pool's water carefully, settling on a pool that held warm, soothing waters. She grabbed her things from the now jeweled, silver rock and knelt beside the pool, cupping her hands into the liquid crystal. The warmth filled her with memories of warm cocoa, fluffy Minis, and the overwhelming desire to sit by a bonfire with a good magazine. She gave it to the tree, hoping the warmth would give the tree the strength it needed to grow healthy and tall. Alas, the tree grew one final time. "Are you satisfied with what I have become?" A voice-- her tree-- asked her. She could only look on with misty eyes, it was a dazzling sight to behold. The orbs drifted through the branches like fireflies, creating the illusion that it had leaves made of pure light. "Yes..." She whispered, her eyes glittering with hope and happiness.
