Apparently Alex had really, really bad luck. Not long after he had stumbled away from that tangled up dog looking thing, he came upon something even more terrifying. "Oh unholy hell!" Well this was certainly fun...or you know, not at all. Alex was so busy dodging the chomping teeth and slashing claws that he barely managed to even shoot at the stupid thing, and when he did the shot was a very poorly aimed one. Stumbling back until he could get a better shot in, he was able to concentrate a little harder on aiming first before firing his gun off twice, hitting one head and then the second quickly afterward. Sammy tugged the sword back, it had weight, a good weight, but she was strong enough to wield it in one hand, it wasn't accurate, it wasn't pretty and it took her full body to do so, but it was bad-freaking-a**. Running past Shik she slid to a stop sword dragging in the dirt before twisting her body to the side hauling the thing around in a wide wild slash smashing into the hydra.
