Hel supposed it was odd how she was once at that rest stop after her journey with her alpaca…and now wandering through an area that glowed white, warm, and ethereal. As long as she was still moving forward though, she didn’t dwell on the thought. It was…pleasant here in this mist. She liked it. Also being a curious soul, she was easily attracted to the glowing orbs that seemed to be leading her on.

Her head turned this way and that as the silver trees came into view, and her lips parted in awe. They were rather mystifying…

The reaper stilled as she arrived at the base of a rather large, bare silver tree, and she stared up at it. It almost seemed…alive? Well, of course plants were alive…but alive in a different sense. The ghoul reached out to place a dark hand on the silver bark, a bit amused at the stark contract of their colors until she gasped. “Eh…?” Hel blinked. Was that a heart beat…? As a voice spoke up, the ghoul’s head whipped around, looking for the source…until she realized that it was coming from the tree.

Oh.

She blinked again, and stared at her hand on the trunk…and then up at the branches…where did one look when they were being addressed by a tree? Regardless, she listened. So the tree needed help, huh? Was this like…gardening? For some reason the subject made her both excited yet wary…though she couldn’t exactly recall why. But…she’d try! Nothing ventured, nothing gained, you reap what you sow…and well, it’s not like she had anything better to do right now.

Plus she did feel very sympathetic and dare say, compassionate for the tree and it…her…?...tale.

After some more wandering, Hel stilled as she came to the banks of a lake. Woah…all the glowing orbs upon the lake…it almost shimmered a pure white. It was…well…beautiful. She just stood there, taking in the sight of the atmosphere. She almost felt like she could just stay here…and something about lakes also made her feel…for a lack of better words, nostalgic. She was snapped out of her daze though, by soft singing.

Once again, Hel looked around, but found no one else near by…and the sound seemed to be coming from the lake, but she couldn’t see anything…

The reaper knelt on the banks, and then dunked her head under the water to find out.

She then snorted and released all her air bubbles as a voice spoke to her under the water.

Hel pulled her head back, whipping water everywhere as her chest heaved. Okay…that had got her going a bit. She wasn’t expecting that…The orbs started to hover closer to her, and well, it made sense what she needed to do next! Hel collected water in her hands, her brows furrowing in the utmost concentration. She wasn’t the most patient person though, and she felt like she needed to get the water to the tree right now…so a lot of it had spilled between her fingers on the way there.

With an apologetic grimace, Hel poured what was left of the water onto the tree, and she watched as it shivered, produced one last little seed, which then fell—

Hel’s hands reached out, and she caught it before it hit the ground, cradling the seed to her.

The tree shuddered, and then withered, not before uttering its last hushed words.

“Ah…” She stared up at the dead tree, and then at the grief seed in her hands. She needed to try and do her best.

Hel returned to the lake with the seed, and once again, stopped on its banks, listening to it hum.

She nodded her head as it spoke, and then furrowed her brows. Unique memories, huh? She didn’t have to give up hers again, did she? She wasn’t sure she was ready to part with them again—Hel was derailed from her train of thought as she stared into the lake. The bubbles…some bubbles which seemed to contain…her. The ghoul shifted the seed into one hand, closing her dark fingers securely around it, and then started to wade into the water.

With her other hand, she reached out, and pulled a bubble closer to her—

Rolling a 9: Your character only knows about the Arena. They exist in the Arena, they fight in the Arena, they are slaves in the Arena. Every single day, they live, caged, watching countless faces also get roll in, and countless faces die. Every single day they wait for their 99th kill. They are on kill 98. Tomorrow will be kill 99. Tomorrow, they will face -

It is up to you how your character looks, and (optionally) what weapons they use as well as who they face. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.

One after another, after another, after another.

Hel watched the head spiral through the air with grim satisfaction, and her hands tightened on the handle of her beloved and worn, but trusty, spear.

Ninety-eight.

She always knew she was the best of the best. She didn’t need to be in the Arena to know that, but she was. She didn’t need to be forced to fight for her life to know she was good. She always knew she was. But here she was, and tomorrow would be the ninety-ninth kill, and she could claim it just as easily as she had the others, with her beloved spear in hand.

She didn’t need to prove to them that she was the best of the best, but she would.

Rolling a 7: Your character is a wizard that goes to Pigfarts, the most prestigious wizarding school of them all. It is their first year transferring into the school, and they are scared they will be sorted into Serpentarius, the rumoured "bad group" among the four sorted groups. You secretly hope you will either be part of the Pegasi (hard working, but not very intelligent), Leo (Brave and noble), or even the Capricorns (Intelligent). If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter, you are a student of Pigfarts. Hel had nothing short of a scowl as she stood in a line of her fellow witch and wizards to be sorted.

Her hands were on her hips as she stared straight ahead at the sorting hat with narrowed eyes. Of course, her biggest concern right now was what house she was going to be in and slowly and steadily, it was growing closer and closer to her turn. Of course she had hopes about which one she wanted to be in…and which one she definitely didn’t want to be in.

The witch-to-be shot a glare at the table of Serpentarius.

That was obviously the douche-bag table.

Rolling a 5: Your character has been a minipet their entire life. They grew up in the Scarefari, where their parents told them to go to Minipet Battle School. Their hopes is to one day breed with a big, strong minipet and create beautiful children. However, on the way there are many adventures, including being bullied by stronger minipets in the Battle Arena, and nearly being sold to the Black Market, or taken to the Altar of Sacrifice. It's a cruel world in the minipet world, and not everyone is out to help them. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter, you are a minipet, in the minipet setting (anywhere on the site is fair game for interpretation "icly"). You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To avoid the Altar of Sacrifice is my real test
And to ascend is my cause

I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
For each mini-pet to understand
The power that's inside

Mini-pets, it’s me and me
I know it’s my destiny
Mini-pets, oh, I’m my own best friend
In a world I must survive
Mini-pets, a heart so true
My suffering will pull me through

I’ll teach me and I'll teach you
Mini-pets, gotta breed 'em all

Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle at the Battling School every day
To claim my rightful place

Come with me, the time is right
There's no better king
Paw in paw, I’ll avoid the Black Market
It's always been my dream.

Rolling at 3: Your character exists in a world where Halloween does not exist. They are Human and they go to a Human high school. They are part of a swimming club, and they are currently about to face a great competition. They know their rival swim team is trying to race against them but they must win the gold medal, for their team! All else you can interpret as you please, including roles and canon. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.

What was she thinking?

Hel’s fingers clung to the edge of the start board in anticipation, and though her thoughts should have been entirely on the competition, the competition which would earn her team the gold medal, her thoughts were elsewhere. Like why she had even joined her high school swim team in the first place. Yeah, sure, she was athletic, but she needed to be honest with herself. She wasn’t built for swimming. She couldn’t even see her feet when she looked down!

Damn breasts.

Ruined any chance of being aerodynamic.

Why couldn’t that jerk she was trying to impress have picked a different sport?

Ugh.

Rolling a 6: Your character is a private eye detective, and this time, they have been hired on what is claimed to be an unsolvable case. You arrive there with only your handy notepad and your own, sharp eye. Something about the case seems odd, from the body, to the events happening, something paranormal. You feel like there is more to the story than what you've been given, but you can't place a finger on it, not quite yet. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter, you are a detective, in Film Noir setting (in the 1930's). You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.

“Detective Helga Selie, but just call me Hel. Everyone calls me that.”

The young woman had her notepad in hand, and was jotting down key words as the grounds keeper of the park recalled how he and his grandsons, identical triplets, happened upon Freya’s body. The young and beautiful blonde woman was pinned to a tree within the park, clad in nothing but a royal blue silk sheet with her blonde locks undone and flowing around her.

The triplets, creeper little buggers who giggled at the most random times, described her as a valkyrie, and proclaimed that the branches behind her gave the illusion of wings.

Though she had asked the grounds keeper to recount what he knew for her, at some point, Hel ended up looking off to the side, and lidding her eyes. She brought her fingers up to her temple. “What is that…?” She seemed to be listening and speaking to…someone else? But there was no one there, aside from her, the grounds keeper, and the triplets. “Ya, something about this seems off…I agree.” She muttered, continuing her private conversation with…nothing?

“Ah, ya, thank you. That will be enough” She suddenly piped up, turning her attention back to the man, effectively cutting off the grounds keep during his story. “I will begin my sweep of the area now, stick around, in case I need to question you later.” Hel brushed past the gaping man then, and began examining the area around the body. Dark red eyes swept the grass around the tree. “Hrm.” Hel hummed. “No signs of anything.” She knelt the tree, examining the grass even closer. “Nothing dragged…nothing propped…it really seems like her body was pinned from above…” Hel mused, still, as if she was musing with someone else. She stared up now. “I do not think we are dealing with anything human…in fact, I think we are dealing with the paranormal…” A wicked grin stretched her lips.

“Right, Mac?”

One by one, as she collected these memory bubbles, she fed them to the seed.

Soon enough she planted it, and gasped with delight as the seed broke through the soil in the form of a sapling. Hel grinned, and she couldn’t help but feel like that the sapling was delighted as well. She also couldn’t help but blink in surprise as the sapling blessed her in the form of anticipation.

At some point while she was working, Hel had paused to braid the longer pieces of her hair. She pulled out two ties, and tied off the two little braids hanging down the front on both sides of her face. At one point, she also paused to catch her reflection, and she stared at herself. Something about this hair style was oddly nostalgic…it made her happy. Feeling in even better spirits now as her seed went from a sapling, and then to a small tree, Hel grinned widely at it. It swayed gently, delicate, but it was a life of its own.

A whisper had her returning to the lake though, but it wasn’t the lake she was greeted by. “WOAH!” Hel exclaimed loudly, staring wide eyed at the tiers of streaming water and pools, that lead back, and in the distance, another castle. This was admittedly, more of a grand sight than the lake…but she missed it too. She was snapped out of her stunned stupor by the voice, and her attention drifted back to the different pools of water. Unique and different, huh?

Some pools Hel immediately passed over, but some she lingered at, but eventually, she settled on one that she definitely wanted to draw water from…

Hel dipped her hands into a warm pool, and immediately a rush of caring and comforting memories swept over her. The reaper released a breath as she closed her eyes, and held the water in her hands, filled to the brim. Yes. This was nice. She poured the water from the warm pool onto her small tree.

After pouring the water from her hands, the tree grew once more, and Hel leapt back as it scaled up.

Her mouth fell open once more when it stopped, and she craned her neck back to stare at it. It was beautiful. Even more beautiful than the tree she had come across before. It glowed, vibrant and healthy, and wisps hovered around. At its question, a wide smile pulled at her lips, and she reached out to place a hand on its trunk, cherishing the steady and healthy heart beat it seemed to emit.

“Ya…I am.” She replied proudly and fondly.

Before her hand left the bark of the tree she helped to nurture, another memory sprung forth.

He let her ‘have’ one of his rose bushes from his garden corner in the reaper gardens. To take care of. She wanted to learn, and she wanted to garden, because he did, and she wanted to do it with him. Of course, she tried her hardest, as she did with all things, but maybe with this, she tried too hard. The rose bush had gone from its dreadfully lovely state of between life and death, to a full and awful vibrancy. The brown, withering leaves turned lush and green, and the nearly black and crisp petals turned blood red and healthy.

This was definitely a lesson in restraint. It took a fine balance of care and a lack of it to get the roses to their best. She had gone overboard.

Hel had been so baffled, and then horrified, and Mac, well, at first he was baffled too, but then he was amused, and he laughed.

Hel was embarrassed and disappointed in herself, but didn’t have the heart to be mad at him for making fun of her. She loved it when he laughed. Even if it was at her expense.
