Name: Kaito Inukai
Age: Sixteen
Race: Human [In a sense, Half-Demon]
Powers:
Yatsufasa Host: After allowing the Dog God to take residence within his body, things began to change around Kaito, allowing him to see what couldn't be seen, and access powers that he generally thought of as myth.
- Decreased Aging: Due to Kaito hosting the Dog God, Yatsufasa, within his own body, Kaito's body ages much slower than that of a normal human being. The age in which his body ages is comparable to that of a half-demon. This decreased aging has also sped up the regenerative nature of his body, allowing him to close wounds on his own faster than humans can.
Enhanced Eyesight: Due to being possessed by Yatsufasa, Kaito's eyesight has been greatly enhanced, allowing him to see much farther than the average human. This also allows him to see the auras of those around him, demonic, the dead, and half-demons.
Purification Powers/Abilities: This power and ability allows Kaito to purify anything he touches. While not as strong as Kagome's or Kikyo's, completely purifying an item takes some time.
Spiritual Powers & Abilities: Kaito can pass through some barriers, spells, and illusions, and can also sense evil auras and be unaffected by them. His spiritual powers are so great that by putting his hand out in front of him, or above his head, he can create a spiritual barrier around himself and whoever is close. By meditating, he can extend this barrier around an entire house be noted that, when doing this, Yatsufasa generally appears behind him in order to help Kaito better control his abilities. Should a demon loose control and grab him, his Spiritual Powers overtake the demon, purifying it. In the case of half-demons, they'd revert back to the half-demon form they have control over.
Weapon: None
History:
Yatsufasa, otherwise known as the Sacred Dog, is a Dog Spirit that has existed since the creation of the very first set of dogs. As such, Yatsufasa became a God to the race of dogs, and as he watched and guarded over the Dogs, he took particular fondness with a single dog. Inu no Taishō had quickly gained the favor of Yatsufasa and as the male grew older, Yatsufasa kept a watchful eye over him. When Inu no Taishō fell in love with a mortal woman, Yatsufasa warned that humans were nothing but envious creatures who did not deserve the affection of a Dog, but the male would not listen. After witnessing the joy the human woman brought Inu no Taishō, Yatsufasa took on a smaller form in order to bond with a human boy, and when the bond was sufficient enough, Yatsufasa sealed a piece of himself within the boy's body to be passed down as he had children. This family would then be called the Inutai family in honor of Yatsufasa, and on the boy, now and old man, promised that one day they would meet again.
As the years went by, Yatsufasa's power began to change with each host who slowly began to forget why they lived so much longer than other humans, and as they continued forgetting, Yatsufasa continued growing weaker, until the time of Inuyasha's sealing on the Sacred Tree. Originally intending to free the half-demon from his prison, but Yatsufasa soon realized that with as much of him was being passed around through the Inutai bloodline, he no longer had the strength to move around as freely as before. So, when Inuyasha was put to sleep for fifty years, Yatsufasa decided to rest as well, and would only awaken when the boy who had made the promise with him returned.

Growing up as a child of the Inukai Hosuehold, the story of Yatsufasa was his favorite, especially the part that state every member of the Inukai family had a small portion of the great Dog Spirit within their bodies. While many within his family no longer believed in Yatsufasa, Kaito and his little brother believed in the Sacred Beasts, and prayed constantly that they would meet him. Aging went fairly smooth for Kaito as he never got into fights into school, and was rather quick to make friends. However, when he entered high school. On his way to school every morning, he would pass by the Higurashi Shine, and stare towards the top of the stairs blankly, almost as though something were calling to him. While he generally tried to shake the feeling that he should have gone up the stairs to the shrine, everything fell apart when one day after school, he and a few of his friends went to the shrine to pray for their success on an upcoming test.
Finally within the shrine grounds, his eyes watched as a dog brushed up against his leg and moved in front of him. It was aimed at the well house, and as he questioned whether or not his friends could see the dog in front of him, they merely shook their head and called him crazy, before proceeding to pray that Kaito regain his senses soon so they could go home. Knowing that he wasn't imagining things, he chased after the dog until he entered the old well house. The area itself was scary enough for him to be in by himself, but now he wanted to know where the dog had disappeared too. Leaning over the well itself, he could see what appeared to be something glowing, and then the whimper of a dog, and as he leaned further into the well, his hand slipped sending him toppling down into the well.
When he opened his eyes again, there were sounds that he could not recognize as the temple sounds, and as he cried out for help, he felt his heart beat heavily within his chest. The moment his cry for help rang out and into the world, Yatsufusa woke up immediately. The pieces of himself that he had put into the other members of the Inutai family were recalled back to him before he traveled over Kaede's village as a bright ball of light. Alerted, the men of the village immediately chased after the light before watching Yatsufusa take form just above the well before shooting down the well. The moment Kaito accepted Yatsufasa as a part of himself, a bright light illuminated the well itself. With the full entity now residing within his body, Kaito's world changed drastically as he began to see things that were invisible but moments before. Though confused about where he is, Kaito is desperately trying to find his way back home.
Personality: He has a very kind and gentle personality, and is a very hard worker. Although, beneath all of this, Kaito is quite burdened and knowledgeable of the events taking place around him; this is often seen when his thoughts travel to his immortality. He is shown to have a deep fear of the possibility of living alone one day. On an embarrassing side, Kaito is terrified of bugs and generally freezes in fear when near them. Yatsufusa is larger than Sesshomaru's dog form, and possesses the ability to pass through objects as he is a spirit. Despite how cluttered a room may be, or the lack of space within a room, Yatsufusa will still put as much of his body into a room as possible in order to remain close to Kaito. Yatsufusa is generally unfriendly with people other than his host, and will ignore any and all who try speaking with him. However, the exception to this, are various types of dogs as Yatsufusa was there since the beginning of their race. As a Sacred Beasts, normal communication does not work on Yatsufusa, and only those who the God wishes to hear can speak with and understand it.
Other: Yatsufusa is able to take on a corporeal and a non-corporeal form when it chooses too.
