Niabi entered the stadium and took a deep breath in. Her first battle had been a victory, but she was almost convinced that it had been a fluke. She held her hand over her eyes while she scanned all of the faces in the stands. It seemed that there were even more people here to watch this time. She gripped her bow and took another tentative step forward. She hadn't checked to see who she was fighting this time, but it couldn't be that bad right? These were only even stronger opponents than when she first fought, now that half of the fighters were gone. Oh goodie.
She stepped forward and when she saw her opponent she was most definitely ready to run the other way. How could she fight against Yaholo, one of her best friends to her? She gulped hard and let out a small squeak of a voice. "Y-Yaholo! I'm sorry we have to f-fight. You'll probably win this f-for sure."

Yaholo receives 4.5 dmg.
Niabi clamed her nerves and tried to shoot straight. She exhaled slowly and released her arrow. At least the little training she had with a bow between skipping sessions was paying off. How she felt about that, she didn't know. Especially when her target was her friend.
Her arrow was truly straight, but at the last moment, she hesitated and had released weak. Even if this arrow did hit it wouldn't hurt that much; something she could be glad for.

"Don't worry about it, Niabi!" Yaholo assured. "You'll do just fine! No matter who wins, you'll always be my best friend!"
He knew the arrow was coming and he moved quickly to dodge it, but neglected to fully assess his surroundings and teetered upon some uneven earth. The arrow grazed his shoulder enough to leave a small mark upon his skin, but not enough to make him cry out in pain. He smiled, feeling proud that Niabi's arrow had actually hit him, she was getting so much more confident! Good for her!
But a tournament is a tournament, and he knew he couldn't just stand there. He raced forward and sung his hammer, though rather softly, and smacked her on her side. Hopefully she wouldn't be upset with him if he hit her gently?

Niabi felt her chest loosen with Yaholo's encouraging words. She could only hope that he would keep his promise.
Her arrow dragged across Yaholo's arm and Niabi flinched. This was what battle was all about, right? Hurting her opponent to the point that they didn't want to, or couldn't fight any more. It was sad that all Alkidike were born to do this.
Niabi sucked up her insecurities just in time to receive a smack to the side with Yaholo's hammer. It wasn't forceful, and she thought that Yaholo might be holding back on her, but the pain was still there. She jumped back, far enough to launch an arrow and struck back. "It's a good thing this is only a g-game, right? I would h-hate to have to face you in a real fight." Niabi said as she grabbed where the hammer had hit, a small smile on her face.

Niabi's arrow hit him in the dead center of his chest, causing him to wince, but he nodded along as if nothing had happened. It was just a competition, no reason to get hyped up. However, his competitive side was getting hard to squash, as he swung his hammer back towards her for a counter.

The arrow struck Yaholo once more and it was almost exciting for Niabi to be facing a friend. At least she tried to keep telling herself that. When it came down to it, like with her last match, it was only for fun. She tried to not be so serious about hurting her temporary opponent. She didn't know it at first, but she found out after her first match that there were healing stations for the fighters when they exited their match. Something that also made her feel a lot better about the whole of the situation.
Yaholo's hammer came down on her before she could get out of the way and struck her in the shoulder, pain hitting her body. She pushed back from Yaholo, gaining some distance and pulled back on her bow, releasing another arrow his way. He looked like he was getting more competitive as the battle continued on, but Niabi could almost enjoy that, knowing that he wasn't holding back as much on her. "D-don't hold back on me. I can take it." She called out to her friend.

Yaholo took the arrow in the same spot as before and winced, feeling his body weaken as it hit. He knew he had one last opportunity, and this was it! He swung at Niabi with all his might, but neglected to calculate his footing properly. He skidded along the ground and missed her head by several feet.

Niabi could see that Yaholo was winding up for something large and powerful. She tried to back away, cringing slightly at the pain she thought she would feel, but there was nothing. Yaholo's attack didn't make it, and Niabi was so happy for that. She tried to use the opportunity to launch another arrow, but her hand got caught up in the line and her arrow launched wide. Oh well. It was probably for the best anyways. It just meant that Yaholo could redeem himself, though hopefully with a slightly weaker attack.

(I just realized that Niabi has a 0 defense bonus... -Blinks- Poor girl. |3
10 + 0 = 10+ needed for a HIT)
6(+5) = 11 HIT
15 (+5) = 20/2 = 10 DMG
As soon as that arrow whizzed past his ear, Yaholo knew he had another chance at winning! He swung his arm harshly forward, nearly forgetting just who he was smacking, and aimed for her stomach. He was very proud of Niabi for making it this far, and whether he beat her or not, he would be happy! They both deserved to be here, just like everyone else!

Niabi's last arrow was still on her mind when she saw the hammer coming back at her again. She didn't even have enough time to think about what to do next before it contacted with her stomach. She let out an 'Oof' and clutched her stomach with her hands, dropping her bow.
"You win... I'm beat." She looked up at Yaholo with a smile. It was a good match, and Niabi was happy to have come this far but also happy that it was over. It was a good experience and she had done her best for her mothers. "I'll be watching the n-next round from the stands." She picked her bow back up from the ground and brushed herself off, one hand still on her stomach. She would most definitely be visiting the healer's tent after this.

Yaholo stifled a grin as Niabi forfeited. He was happy he won, but he was also concerned for his friend's well being, and hurried to her side.
"I hope I didn't hurt you too bad, Niabi!" He cried, offering his arm for her to lean on. "You were amazing! You almost had me down!" He chuckled and sheathed his hammer onto his back again. "Now, let's go get healed. Those arrows hurt!"
