"I am the Voice and this is my story. This is my story of the Great King, the Greatest King, and this is my duty to withhold his sworn promise.

That from the ordinary can emerge something even greater."

"In front of you is the beginning of your journey, as as the Great King once began theirs. Even the most magnificent sword must be tempered from simple steel. Using the most basic of what you are going, go, show me how Great a King you can become. Only the Greatest can succeed."

OOC: Beginning your voyage

The Voice has spoken

gaia_crown [ Beginning your Voyage ]: You arrive in the dilapidated remains of a modest shack. In front of you are four creatures tied to a long wooden beam. You must untie and choose one of of the mounts before you begin your quest. This post has a breakdown of all the important elements of your quest. Once you are ready and have read everything in this post, proceed to the post below for actual instructions of your voyage. Now select a mount below:

Note: 1d4 means 1 4-sided dice, which you will need to roll whenever you move. More mechanics will be explained during your journey, but keep this in mind. Therefore 2d4 = 2 4-sided dice, 3d4 = 3 4-sided dice, etc.
DO NOT ROLL MULTIPLE DICE IN THE SAME POST IT MUST BE DONE AND TALLIED IN INDIVIDUAL POSTS

gaia_crown [ Horse: ] A sturdy creature, a simple steed sturdy in foot, able to carry quite an impressive amount and move quickly, but unable to move easily in uneven terrain. Requires more food to maintain.
Temper: 7. When a mount's temper hits 1, they will abandon the rider and make off with half your existing supplies. You will only be able to roll 1d4 to move for the rest of the journey.
Terrain movement: 1d10 to move through terrains.
Uneven terrain movement: 1d4 to move through terrains.
Food required: For each dice roll you make, the creature consumes 4 food points.

gaia_crown [ Mountain Goat: ] A sturdy creature that moves slowly but is able to move steadily in uneven terrain. Requires a steady amount of food to maintain but cannot carry too much.
Temper: 5. When a mount's temper hits 1, they will abandon the rider and make off with half your existing supplies. You will only be able to roll 1d4 to move for the rest of the journey.
Terrain movement: 1d6 to move through terrains.
Uneven terrain movement: 1d8 to move through terrains.
Food required: For each dice roll you make, the creature consumes 2 food points.

gaia_crown [ Alpaca: ] A gentle creature that is fluffy and warm. It is very loyal to its owner, but moves slowly and steadily through terrain.
Temper: 10. When a mount's temper hits 1, they will abandon the rider and make off with half your existing supplies. You will only be able to roll 1d4 to move for the rest of the journey.
Terrain movement: 1d8 to move through terrains.
Uneven terrain movement: 1d6 to move through terrains.
Food required: For each dice roll you make, the creature consumes 3 food points.

gaia_crown [ Camel: ] An exotic but slightly aggressive creature. It requires quite a bit to eat but moves tirelessly.
Temper: 8. When a mount's temper hits 1, they will abandon the rider and make off with half your existing supplies. You will only be able to roll 1d4 to move for the rest of the journey.
Terrain movement: 2d4 to move through terrains
Uneven terrain movement: 2d4 to move through terrains.
Food required: For each dice roll you make, the creature consumes 5 food points.

Traveling and supplies:

- All players start off with the same food supplies. Please copy and paste the traveling form below into the bottom of your post whenever you make at traveling post. Your goal is to cross 150 km of distance without your character's HP OR Food reaching 0.

gaia_crown Traveling means when your character is moving. Traveling is done by rolling the movement dice. You will use your mount's corresponding movement dice. Check to see you have the right terrain. Each dice you roll will cost food for your mount. The goal is to cross each zone to the very end without running out of supplies. Example: I am on uneven terrain and I have an alpaca mount. I will roll 1d6 to measure my movement.
- If you lose your mount you must roll 1d4 for the rest of the trip, regardless of terrain, and doing so costs 2 food.
- Traveling is a solo voyage in your TRAVEL thread. You can interact with characters only in PITSTOP threads AND if you are summoned as a Ally to revive your friend.
- DO NOT ROLL MULTIPLE DICE IN THE SAME POST IT MUST BE DONE AND TALLIED IN INDIVIDUAL POSTS

gaia_crown Pitstops. Occasionally in your travels you may see helpful camps, small areas to stop at. At these areas you can rest your mount (their temper goes back to their max). You may TRADE with other players supplies. Example: On my journey, I have finally hit 25 km distance. I can now visit the first pitstop thread, the one marked Pitstop No 1. When my character is ready to go (just by posting in the pitstop, it is assumed your character has "rested", as long as they are not ICly trading with anyone or making allies), they may resume their traveling thread again. You can make allies at Pitstops only!

gaia_crown Food: You AND your mount require food. If your food reaches 0, you die. Each time your roll your traveling dice, you must feed your mount the above food required for that mount. You do not have to feed yourself if you have a mount. If you have no mount, you must feed yourself 2 food points per movement dice you roll. If your food amount hits 0, it is game over for your. Your character dies in this simulated journey. You feel weak and wane, before you fade to nothingness.

gaia_crown Bandages: Your current HP is the HP of your equipped weapon. If your HP hits 0 it is game over for you, meaning your character died on the journey, and did not make it to the end. They will have failed the quest. In order to counteract this, you may use bandages. Each bandage you gain will heal you for the attack power of your equipped weapon (or base attack power if you have no weapon). Your character may simply roll for bandages instead of rolling a traveling dice to use it.

gaia_crown Attacking: Sometimes, bandits will attack you! You must defeat them. You simply roll once per challenge with your equipped weapon (or default if no weapon) dice. Any and all abilities may not be used in this event period. If your attack is greater than the bandit's attack, you defeat them. If it is lower, they do damage to you equal to the difference. Ie: If your attack is 2 and their attack is 10, they do 8 damage to your HP. Ie 2: I roll and do 6 attack, they have 2 attack, I defeat them and move on with no cost to my HP.

gaia_crown Allies: At pitstop ORPs once you reach them, you can make allies by simply prping with them (quote the target) and befriending them. Each ally you make will improve your morale. If your HP OR Food goes to 0 at any point in time, having an ally recruited means you can "call for their help" to your thread by quoting them (or quote multiple). If anyone appears and "revives" your character, you may continue from that point instead of reaching a GAME OVER. You will regain HALF your max HP and food. If you call for help and noone responds within 2 OOC hours your character has died.... You feel weak and wane, before you fade to nothingness. Once that ally has helped you, they cannot help you again in your journey.

gaia_crown Losing your mount: If you lose your mount, your max supplies/ food remaining is halved. That means if you had 80/200 food, it is now 40/100 food. You must roll 1d4 for the entire remaining trip, and you consume 2 food for having to move without a mount every time you roll.

gaia_crown Death: Once again, the conditions of death are either you have no HP OR no Food (supplies) remaining. If your character is faced with death, they may post a Death Solo. The last thing they see is someone speaking of disappointment and failure before they fade away. They will have to wait until Aug 21st to proceed to the next part (but your character may participate in Arena Battles and update their Heart Logs as well as do Side Tasks even if they have "died" in this trek).

gaia_crown Event Deadline: Event deadline is August 21st at 7:30 pm PST! If you think this is too difficult for you to obtain, try Island 2 instead, which requires a little less time!

How to Travel
- After you read the requirements above, simply go to the NEXT POST BELOW to read exactly on how you will travel on your journey. The above is to simply give you an idea of what these mechanics are for!
- All players start off at 200 food points. They must travel a distance of 150 km (kilometers) by mount OR foot. There are TWO pitstops on the way.

OOC: AREA 1 - THE PLAINS
JOURNEY ACROSS THE PLAINS

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Your journey begins here. You have picked a steed of your choice, and with the Voice's blessings, make your way through the old village. It is abandoned, and you slowly walk until you reach the plains, long rolling green plains that seem to reach for an infinite distance, covered in the horizon by a fine sheen of gentle mist. Make sure you have read the post above and chose your mount. Make sure you copied and pasted the traveling form.

gaia_crown [ Step 1: Creating a Thread:

- In this subforum, create a TRAVEL thread. Label it [ TRAVEL ] CHARACTER NAME HERE. Now you are ready to start. Paste in the first post, your RP reaction to the first post of this thread, them selecting a mount, the prompt above with leaving and riding your mount into the plains, and then paste at the bottom of that post your traveling form (see above to simply copy and paste the code).
- All players start off at 200 food points. They must travel a distance of 150 km (kilometers) by mount OR foot. You will read this post until you have fulfilled the conditions of this post OR died

gaia_crown [ Step 2: Traveling to 20km: ]
- Use your mount's dice roll to move around. You are currently traveling in even terrain movement (look at your mount's regular terrain movement dice). Roll the dice. For each dice/ movement post you roll, update your traveling form by simply posting it with your rolling post. Update your Supplies (Food) remaining (amount of food the pet eats) and Distance Traveled (the dice amount you rolled).
- Keep on rolling until you have hit 20KM or more then move to the next step. You do NOT need to rp your travel posts

Example:
- I am riding an alpaca. Their current terrain movement is 1d6. I roll 1d6. My result is a 3. I have traveled 3 km.
- I then post my traveling form in the OOC at the bottom of the post. I do NOT need to rp out regular travel movement posts after the FIRST ONE. I update my Supplies to 200 - 3, 3 for the food required for the alpaca. I update my distance as 3.
- I roll again, 1d6, and this time I traveled 4 km. I update my Supplies to 197 - 3, and my distance as 7. No need to rp.
- I roll again, 1d6 and this time I travelled 6 km. I uddate my Supplies to 194 - 3, and my distance as 12. No need to rp
- Keep on doing this until I hit 20 KM or over. You do NOT need to rp these posts

gaia_crown [ Step 3: 20KM event!: ] When your character has hit 20km (or over) of distance, they will now need to stop and roll their first event. Roll a 6-sided dice and match your dice roll to this event. RP it out. You must do this two times, rolling for TWO of these events and rp them out. Overlaps are okay. (Ie rolling 2 and 2).
- Adjust your OOC Traveling Form as you need with the new stats. Make sure you have rolled twice and matched a result each time. Then, move to step 4.

Rolling a 1: Your character is attacked by bandits! They have 20 attack! Roll your equipped weapon's dice. If your result is lower, subtract the difference and adjust your current HP. For example, if you roll and have 7 attack, then you take 13 HP damage. Abilities CANNOT BE USED, PERIOD.
Rolling a 2: Your mount is getting annoyed at you. Its temper drops by 2. Adjust its temper accordingly.
Rolling a 3: On no! Some of your food supplies have rotted! Subtract -50 from your supplies remaining
Rolling a 4: Bandits come and steal your bandages. Subtract - 5 from your bandages remaining
Rolling a 5: You miscalculated your distance! Subtract -10km from your distance remaining. You do not need to roll the event again, just skip it!
Rolling a 6: Your mount is angry at you! They kick you for half your REMAINING HP in damage. Adjust your HP accordingly.

gaia_crown [ Step 4: Traveling to 50km: ]

After the event, continue to use your mount's dice roll to move around. You are currently traveling in even terrain movement (look at your mount's regular terrain movement dice). Roll the dice. For each dice/ movement post you roll, post your traveling form. Update your Supplies (Food) remaining and Distance Traveled with the traveling dice you rolled at the bottom of that post.
- Keep on rolling until you have hit 50KM. You are now at the first pitstop
- If your HP OR Supplies Remaining has hit 0 YOU HAVE DIED. End your traveling thread and update the title with DEAD. Post your DEATH SOLO. Your character is now in limbo until the end of this part of this event (August 21st at 7:30 PM PST).
- Once you have hit 50KM GO to the post below!

PITSTOP 1:

Go HERE for your character's first pitstop. Here they may interact with players and find allies. Once they are comfortable with where they are, they may continue to the next post below. Keep in mind time is an essence IC and OOCly! You might not want to linger too long at a pitstop!

OOC: AREA 2 - THE MOUNTAINS
JOURNEY ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

You are now traveling through the treacherous mountain terrain. Each step you take may be your last; you need to move slowly and carefully. The sheer cliffs and narrow paths make it hard for more than one traveler to move at a time through the paths.

gaia_crown [ Step 1: Continuing onwards:

-Your mount's temper is restored. However, your supplies and bandages have still carried on, unless you have traded any supplies and bandages with another player. Whatever you gained at the pitstop from other users, update your Traveling Form OOC. Now continue onwards.

gaia_crown [ Step 2: Traveling to 80km: ]
Continue to use your mount's dice roll to move around. You are currently traveling in uneven terrain movement (look at your mount's unterrain movement dice). Roll the dice. For each dice/ movement post you roll, post your traveling form. Update your Supplies (Food) remaining dependent on your mount's food required. Update your Distance Traveled with the traveling dice you rolled.
- Keep on rolling until you have hit 80KM then move to step 3.

I roll again, 1d6, and this time I traveled 4 km. I update my Supplies to 197 - 3, and my distance as 7.

- If your HP OR Supplies Remaining has hit 0 if you have any ALLIES, please QUOTE THEM. They will need to come to your thread and rescue you. They need to come into your thread, quote your character, and RP them helping your character get your bearing again.
- If no allies show up within TWO OOC HOURS OF WHEN YOU QUOTED THOSE CHARACTERS, YOU HAVE DIED. End your traveling thread and update the title with DEAD. Post your DEATH SOLO. Your character is now in limbo until the end of this part of this event (August 21st at 7:30 PM PST).

gaia_crown [ Step 3: 80KM event!: ] When your character has hit 80km (or over) of distance, they will now need to stop and roll their second event. Roll a 10-sided dice and match your dice roll to this event. RP it out. You must do this three times, rolling for THREE of these events and rp them out. Overlaps are okay. (Ie rolling 2 and 2).
- Adjust your OOC Traveling Form as you need with the new stats. Make sure you have rolled twice and matched a result each time. Then, move to step 4. You are able to use bandages in between these rolls.

Rolling a 1: Your character is attacked by bandits! They have 30 attack!
If your mount's temper hits 1 IT HAS ABANDONED YOU. You must now continue the rest of the event by rolling 1d4, subtracting -2 from your supplies each time you roll.
Rolling a 3: On no! Some of your food supplies have rotted! Subtract -20 from your supplies remaining
Rolling a 4: Bandits come and steal your bandages. Subtract - 5 from your bandages remaining
Rolling a 5: You miscalculated your distance! Subtract -10 from your distance remaining
Rolling a 6: Your mount is angry at you! They kick you for 10 damage. Adjust your HP accordingly.
Rolling at 7: You stumble upon 2 bandages. Lucky you! Add to your bandages remaining
Rolling a 8: You come cross 25 supplies! Add + 10 to your supplies remaining
Rolling a 9: Your mount has come to really like you. It's temper goes up by 2. If that is over the amount, it caps at its max amount (ie you can't have 6/5).
Rolling a 10: You accidentally lose the contact information of two of your allies. Remove two allies from your allies list.

gaia_crown [ Step 4: Traveling to 100km: ]

Continue to use your mount's dice roll to move around. You are currently traveling in uneven terrain movement (look at your mount's uneven terrain movement dice). Roll the dice. For each dice/ movement post you roll, post your traveling form. Update your Supplies (Food) remaining dependent on your mount's food required. Update your Distance Traveled with the traveling dice you rolled.
- Keep on rolling until you have hit 100KM.

I roll again, 1d6, and this time I traveled 4 km. I update my Supplies to 197 - 3, and my distance as 7.

- If your HP OR Supplies Remaining has hit 0 if you have any ALLIES, please QUOTE THEM (the players and the character name).

- Once you have hit 100KM GO to the post below!

You have made it to the end!

You may now add this to your Heart Log as a blessing! Make sure you RP out a reaction as you need in your TRAVEL thread before concluding it.
- While your character may have finished their TRAVEL thread, they may still help others. Your character can chill in any one of the two pitstop threads to help and interact with others.

gaia_crown [ Recovered Memory: ] Your character remembers at the end of their TRAVEL thread if they are successful, a memory of someone who has been very close to them in the past.

- For Hunters this means your character has recovered their weapon voice. They cannot summon their weapon, but they can interact with their weapon, as sort of halves of a whole.
- For Students and Horsemen this is anyone who has been close to them in the past really.
