Tool and APC are great. Maynard is truly an amazing being. His music is so melodic and his lyrics are to die for. I can't wait until Tool's new album comes out. they are definitely going on tour and they'd better come somewhere near me becasue I'M GOING!

mortsanglant Tool and APC are great. Maynard is truly an amazing being. His music is so melodic and his lyrics are to die for. I can't wait until Tool's new album comes out. they are definitely going on tour and they'd better come somewhere near me becasue I'M GOING! I envy you......

I think I'm gonna say Tool because I know and love a lot more of their songs than APC's.

Holy crap, son! You obviously haven't heard much Tool. They are one of the most enigmatic bands. The aural sensations they create are so above what the masses tinker with. They truly have a sound all their own. Maynard's voice and those drums, that bass. Ugh. It's all so ... come to think of it there's no word for it.
I can understand not liking them for their sound. They do have a sound that's something the average person can't find themselves liking. But repetitive. No. They are so different in each song. They are so dynamic. Constantly changing. Certainly not static. And their lyrics have such a deep and complete meaning.
APC is more simple. They have a more melodic quality to them. Still a great band. But I wouldn't rank them up with Tool, even if Maynard is the lead.

My current favorite of the two is A Perfect Circle.
Though, as time goes on my choice of favorite may change. I haven't heard as much Tool so I haven't had a chance to get a feel for them.
Either way they are both great bands.
