Harland was cold. He wasn't sure when, but he had in fact lost his pants, and was wandering around in boxers and his red cowboy boots. It didn't occur to him he was pantsless until it was quite late in the night.

Or early in the morning; he suspected, somewhere in the haze of being drunk, that it depended on one's perspective. He'd had whiskey, it was true. Quite a lot of whiskey. He'd just returned from his first mission, on the cruise ship, where all the things that he'd feared in the night became very pressing realities. In fact, he'd combined that with his seasickness and spent half his time throwing up off the side of the ship.

Basically, it hadn't been a good time, and he needed a drink. Or two. Or five. They'd given him this shot called the Four Horsemen, and he didn't really know what was in it but it certainly packed enough of a punch that he wouldn't be surprised if the world ended shortly. He started to laugh quietly to himself as he stumbled sideways and braced himself on the frame of his door.

"Shhh," he whispered, putting one finger up to his lips without much coordination.

Would you go to sleep? Your thoughts are intensely frustrating, like listening to the static on a television all night.

"Ye know... Coyote... ye know... why are we not friends?" Harland asked, sounding genuinely heartbroken, gesturing widely with his hands and knocking the key out of his hand.

He giggled drunkenly as he searched in the dark for the key, lifted it up and began trying to unlock his door.

"..."

...

"..."

...

After the long pause, and the constant clinking of the key against an unyielding lock, Harland in his boxers and his cowboy boots, wearing his cowboy hat, a bandanna and his Deus coat spoke at the same time as Coyote spoke in his head.

"I'll get it!"
How did you lock yourself out?

Harland squinted at the lock. Then the door.
"Níl a fhios agam, a Choyote," he said, raising his hands in the air in a gesture of defeat, laughing again.

There was a very easy answer to this question: It was not his room.

Lucy rested her head in her hand with half lidded eyes as she stared down at the paper she was writing on. It was clear that she was exhausted and suffered from insomnia, or simply refused to sleep. Strands of hair had escaped from bondage to obscure the view of her journal, which only contained a few words.

A rattling sound reminded Lucy that she was still conscious and she glanced towards the door. Getting up from her seat the new hunter wondered if someone was trying to break into her dorm. Was that a thing that happened around here? It didn't seem like it... and yet, here was someone trying to get into her dorm. Exhaustion typically induced negligent behavior and consequently, Lucy wandered towards the door despite the possible danger.

She swung it open and casually leaned against it. The stranger in front of her looked less than threatening... especially with his delicates exposed. Lucy laughed quietly at the sight as she folded her arms in a manner that might suggest she was looking forward to hearing his excuses.

An idiot, clearly. Don't waste your time on him.

Lucy ignored Yoldevor's suggestion and watched the stranger expectantly for a moment before speaking. "You look lost. It looks as if your pants are, too."

Harland paused, in the dark, thinking he heard something. Is this even your floor?

"How can ye tell? They all look the same to me," Harland replied, squinting off into the dark. He should start carrying a flashlight. He decided this.

He'd probably forget in the morning, when he was sober.

In the meantime, he was standing pantsless, drunk, in front of a woman.

"... How did ye get in my room?"

This is not your room, Cowboy. How long will it take you to figure that out? Now would you kindly greet the lady, before she thinks you're a stalker or a pervert, Coyote chipped in, helpfully. He sounded irate, actually, like he wished he was asleep.

...Sooner rather than later, he encouraged, even more irritable.

"My pants, are they?..." Harland looked down, and although he still very clearly smelled of whiskey and he had a sort of blurred look to his eyes, he straightened up as best he could and tried to remain manly. He tipped an invisible hat to the stranger, "Would he please forgive me-- Name's Harland Leander Belle. I appear to've misplaced my pants."

He paused. "And my room."

At least this is still the right key, he thought silently to Coyote, beaming optimistically.

Lucy offered the gentle shake her head as Harland muttered his concern about her misplacement. "You're mistaken. This is my room."

To Lucy's relief, Yoldevor decided to remain silent and observe. She was still getting accustomed to his breathless string of aggressive curses and swears every time she made a simple mistake or ignored his pointless commands. Or perhaps it was Yoldevor who was taking steps to adjust to this unique relationship.

The new huntress lifted herself from the door frame as Harland introduced himself. "Lucy Lacroix. It's a pleasure meeting you... despite the unfortunate circumstances. I would suggest against visiting me at this hour in the future." She paused, muttering something about the stench of alcohol and rubbed at her eyes as if it would cure the intensifying fatigue.

"Now that introductions are out of the way, we have a problem to take care of. You're in the wrong place and you're clearly too inebriated to avoid making the same mistake a second time. We have two choices, as far as I can tell; I can walk you to your dorm room, or you can spend the night here." She looked at him plainly as if expecting an immediate response.
