After he'd called out to her, he leapt into action without even thinking. There might have been a second or two where he struggled with the beast but he seemed to avoid most major damage as he struck at the monster.

He was glad he'd followed her. "Because! We can take it!" Tiletk insisted simply. It had started the fight and now they would finish it, at least that is how he saw it.
As he went for the next attack he let out a sound of disapproval as Fayre went bouncing, "Damn it," he hit the creature as if seeking to take revenge on her behalf.
The monster had no qualms against hitting him down. He was a little preoccupied with smacking the beast down a little harder than it was hitting him. It was a rather fierce exchange. Tiletk skidded back a bit as he tried to futilely dodge.

Tiletk couldn't help but laugh, "That's the spir--OOF." Then he was fling to a nearby wall. That felt ... pleasant (not really).

Fayre remained sitting exactly where she was, when it happened. She didn't move - she couldn't. She was shocked and frozen, trying to comprehend what had just happened. Lips pressed against lips, warm and affectionate, hands reaching out in the dark, pulling her close, whispering invitingly until she gave in -Her breath returned to her in a soft gasp, and she stumbled, barely able to throw her axe at the monster. She remained where she was though. She wasn't ready to move - she wasn't prepared for the feelings that swept through her. His lips still tingled pleasantly and some could say that distracted him a little as the monster slammed him down and pinned him for a moment.

The sound of a struggle smacked her out of her reverie. She scrambled back up to her feet and ran as fast as she could, tripping several times until she grabbed her axe back from the beasts body and started hacking mercilously. "I'VE GOT YOU, I'VE GOT YOU, IT'S GOING TO - " Her axe slid through the beasts mouth,twirling her in mid air until she fell on her back under its paws. ".. be all right." It pinned her instantly, and she flailed with a howl. Then she was in trouble. It was a strange game of help-the-other-while-they-get-pinned. He wasn't sure he approved of it. Tiletk tried to get his breathing in order as he attacked the monster to try and get it to let her go. The beast snarled and swatted him back.

With a painful kick, the beast kicked her away, and despite trying to claw at it, her body slid sickeningly across the floor, coming to a very still halt far from the fight. Her weapon slid seconds after her, it too being kicked away; but when she tried to reach out for it, her hand barely made it to the handle. "Tiletk." Her hoarse voice cried out. She was breaking. Her shadowy body flickered like a tv losing reception.
